This was the first time I watched the tournament and as a swede I was broken after the game and the games between Sweden and Canada are always fun to watch, no matter the outcome. Canada is often a more physical team and Sweden more technical. But calling swedes weak or canadians dirty is just plain stupid!

Wow people say they were watching the game, but obviously were not. The crowd was booing Hedman for the punch on Esposito after the whistle blew. And after about the mid second period they started booing the goalie cause he was diving and flailing around like a fish out of water. But hey people are all just bitter. Enjoy your silver again.

As much as I was on my feet celebrating when we won this game...My heart broke a little seeing Enroth in the crease after the OT goal. I knew he was a future Sabre and I knew he was going to be huge for us, I wish he got a complimentary gold medal.

Actually read what I said. Okay okay, in the semi finals (sweden-russia) it also went to OT, five minutes rest, 10 minutes of play. WHY was that CHANGED for the final game? And nah, Sweden didn't lose. First medal in 15 years, and darn close being a golden one. I'd say thats pretty okay

Ummm, when you pay $250 or so for a ticket, the crowd is allowed to boo. Don't Swedish crowds whistle at games? Same thing. Canadian hockey crowds are the best in the world. They are the most patriotic and supportive, no other country supports their team like Canadians do. Maybe if European hockey had better support, the IHF would award them more tourneys. And get it through your head the crowd wasn't booing Sweden, it was booing the play of certain players un-hockeylike diving.

the refs did an awesome job. markstrom got runover bout 4 times and only 2 were penalties when it shouldve been 1. any time a goalie comes out of his crease or inside his safe zone he takes the risk of being hurt cause the opposing player isnt gonna care if theres a chance to get the puck. marstrom dived the 1st time u can tell by the way he was lying in pain then when the refs made their decision he got up spat on the ice, put his mask on and was ready to go. goalies have a lotta padding.

Sweden didnt play the game we wanted it to be. I could go as far as saying that we would loose anyway if this game was fair. But after all this, thinking over the situation neutrally and not trying to defend Sweden because im born there. This, gentlemen, is one of the biggest international hockey scandals through all time. Im glad this wasnt the olympics....

Your coach said that Markstrom is A DIVER?! WHAT THE?! The crowd roaming at Hedman everytime he had the puck just because he did something EVERY PLAYER WOULD HAVE DONE. First of all, Sweden was not good anought, canada did there best game when it ment the most. Swedens PP was bad as never. The ref was OK but did som big misstakes, Eposito driving over Markstrom is one example. Hedman should have had 2 min in that situation to.

The point is, We (Sweden) had the game where we wanted it at the end. Canada were playing half-assed. It went to over-time. Should have been five (5) minutes rest, 10 minutes of play. Insteed it was 20m rest, 20m play. Now does that benefit the team with good momentum or the team whos disoriented?

goal1- Their own player scored on his own net
goal2-Mason wasnt strong enough of the puck, we take it and score.
goal3-Mason wasnt strong enough on the post and #10 of Sweden pushes Canadian guy he runs into Mason and Canada had a player right in front to tap it home... thats cheating? Having good positioning? BTW it was played in Europe, why would they bring over Candian refs? The refs are not going to just call a goal dissaloud, if crosses the line. ALSO CANADA RULES!

We didn't cheat, we won fair and square. Even if we didn't make the gold medal final, Russia would have beaten you no problem.
