This watch is Rolex at its best, simple yet most elegant and refined. It’s the peak of refined sports watch making from the entire Rolex catalogue. It’s the perfect pair for the explorer.
Got mine 2 days ago blue dial, all the reasons stated in the video I couldn’t agree more with on you. I’m glad it’s a sleeper and not super common too! Great vid
It has to be the 116622 reference with the blue sunburst dial, and the red sweep second hand with matching red text on the dial. I compared both before purchasing, and the rhodium dial just didn’t cut it, it looked bland next to the gorgeous blue dial.
Picked one up 3 months ago..I feel a lil bad for my other watches as I cannot take this off my wrist! It’s stunning and wears perfectly. Slim and elegant.
Definitely a sleeper. I’m with you on the bezel…really sets it apart. Classic and classy. This case is spectacular, and I love the side profile with the view of the bezel knurling. So good.
Glad to see this video back up 😊 It’s one of my favourite watch review videos on RUclips. I love the YM40, was lucky enough to pick up a new one from the AD just two weeks ago. A 16 month wait but well worth it in the end!
@@Alexander_MDthe mysterious workings of a Rolex AD! Tbh I was expecting a 12-18mth wait. I’ve learned with Rolex to put my name down & then forget about it. 16mths went pretty quickly, a watched pot never boils & all that!
I love my Yacht master every thing from the platinum bezel to the turquoise second hand against the rhodium dial. A perfect blend of sporty and classy. My favourite watch of theirs for its uniqueness and it flys well under the radar
I've had mine for 18 months and I'm still loving it. The 'slate' dial with the ice blue secondhand is mesmerising. You're spot on about the creamy bezel movement. It sits perfectly on the wrist too. I also don't own a Sub but I do have a vintage Rolex Pepsi which I wear on a pale blue suede strap.
Agree with your thoughts. I own both a YM (blue dial version) as well as a Sub. Truth be told, I seldomly wear my sub anymore. The YM is just that good!
I bought the 37mm YM in rhodium. I love it more than my Sub. I actually sold it. Not a fan of the case shape. The YM wears better. Slimmer. Refined. Platinum. Can be dressed up or dressed down. Vintage size. I have gotten so many compliments on it. When “lay” people think about buying a fancy watch, it has to have some bling to it. A stainless steel sub will not do that but a YM will do that because it just has enough bling with the platinum touches to be fancy but also tooly at the same time.
This is without doubt one of the most beautiful modern rolexes. The only thing prevented me from buying is that i don't mind scratches on the bracelet, but the bezel is a different story, and sadly this beatuy's bezel will catch a few sooner or later, and from there you cannot unsee them :(
Surprisingly in 6 months the bezel got zero scratches but the clasp on the other hand is scratch magnet. In the beginning I was so annoyed but I made peace with it. Every time I look at my wrist it makes me happy
Over 10 years ago I wanted the previous Yachtmaster but I had a young family at the time and couldn’t spend the money on a watch. This year I got my rhodium dial and glad I didn’t buy the previous model as the current version is much nicer
This is certainly a nice watch, however I would still choose the submariner over this one. The only yachtmaster I would choose over the sub is the titanium one. That looks amazing and the fact that it is grade 5 titanium is insane!
Look's Tacky and cheap . Don't like the Grey look at all.Youve effed up Rolex when this could have been a killer but then again you'd have made another killing and us working class and paupers and peasants would be shoed away from ya Doors with our Beggars Bowl.Hopefully

Same. I wear my 37 every day and it goes with every outfit and all occasions
@@RicardoHawkes how much did you pay for yours?
Lol according only to you 😂

I’d love to see this modernized with an all-gray ceramic bezel insert.

Nice video. I have worn a Yachtmaster everyday since 2005. I am now looking to update to this, the latest version.

Im thinking about getting this one. Just picked up the sprite 2 weeks ago.Its different and cool
Agree! Is the only Rolex I would buy. Beautiful watch!

That's a long wait but definitely worth it!
these are selling around retail, surprised you had to wait so long

Purchased one certified pre-owned today. I had never seen one in person, and what you said in the video rings true. Special watch.
Just built one using Aliexpress parts . Looks exactly like yours and I only paid $100 👍
@@travism3510how did you build one?

Hi, how often do you have to wind it up ?

I may get one from all of them. Some full gold but mostly steel. I also picked up the full gold sub 2024 blue dial.
always liked this specific model, very elegant compared to the slab side case of the sub, and GMTs.
A beautiful watch! I prefer the blue dial with red accents over the grey but beautiful either way.
Best YM40 video I've seen
Yes, and yes. Subtle but when you know, you know how good it is.
I am getting mine tomorrow after nine months waiting
got mine today in London. Its a beauty, looks far better in the flesh.

Wow what an honest & refreshing review… fantastic 🙏
I love mine. It looks elegant and refined indeed.
Got this in 2020 ,absolutely love it
I wish the font of the numerals weren’t cartoonishly large
Anyone know a jubilee that will fit this ?
Wish it was a 42mm as it wears slightly small on my 7.25 inch wrist

some day
There's something a little feminine about the seconds hand. Would love it if they made it green like the black bezel gmt
Well, at least it's not pink. Perhaps a darker shade of blue would be more spot on..
Airking also a sleeper once upon a time nobody wanted Daytona.
lol you won’t be sleeping on the price tag
Waiting for mine.. The request has been made from my AD.
Nice! Received the call yet ?
I’ll take the Popeye version any day!
regrettably rather scratchy
Haha - I agree but I have no regrets!
"creamiest action". Gay
Someone get this guy and the watch a room Jesus
