Your right about the industry not serving as well the ladies, did a little research and had a look at longines. Bit suprised actually, quite a few sporty watches even though 50% had 'overbling' on them. Love seeing prople get their grails, now you go get out there and enjoy your new Roley. Thanks Sophie.
Yes Longines have some lovely offerings and I always recommend to friends looking at an entry level piece, same for Nomos. But I think the options reduce right down when reaching over 3k mark for women. It’s like they shove diamonds on just to get it to be more expensive and that annoys me, rather than producing a brilliant design and movement. Anyway I’m hoping things are changing! ❤️
I've been with my other half for about 10 years. Over this period of time she has slowly understood my passion for watches and together we bought her a 31mm OP. Since then we have had my 37mm YM sized to her wrist and last November she put her name up for the floral dial in SS with the jubilee bracelet. We picked it up last week and her face was a picture. She definitely caught the bug but says she's done now. I've bought her lots of vintage seiko dive watches over the years ( any excuse to buy a all original vintage seiko)which she wears but the one she wears the most is her little casio, from their vintage range I bought her. I spent some time with the 40mm variant of yours and loved it, it was bit big for my taste so the 37 is just perfect🤌. Looks great on you also. I recently acquired a lovely 36.5 Grand Seiko that is out of this world finished, and another great choice for those of us who don’t want a 40mm watch. Thanks but no it’s not. The 49mm is a 70 hour power reserve. The 37mm has a different calibre inside which is 55 hour plus the Syloxi hairspring, which the 40mm doesn’t have also ❤️

As they always say that 😂 I have the same Yachtmaster, but 40mm, it is a beautiful watch and wears perfectly such an underated watch better than a boring black submariner 😅

Your dial used to be call the 'Rhodium' dial years ago. I got the same watch in the 40 mm version about 4 years ago. That dial has been call the 'Slate' dial for about 3-4 years now. Not sure why people are stuck with the old name. Even some employees of Rolex ADs don't know about this name change... Weird.
I just believed that’s what the dial is made from. A heat treated rhodium plated dial? Could be wrong but that was my impression and that’s why I call it such. I know it’s referred to on the website as a slate dial.
It may be Rhodium plated but it is no longer called Rhodium. It is now called a Slate dial on the Rolex website. Years ago is was called a Rhodium dial.

I bought the blue dial version in 2016. Quickly fell out of love for it traded it and a Seamaster Omega for a Daytona. The Daytona I traded was right before the sale of the Paul Newman. The receipt for the trade shows the Daytona was priced at $8500. The two watches I had for trade I paid total of $17,300. I sole the Daytona last year for $15,500. I don't miss any of those watches. I have a 2002 Sea Dweller and a 2022 Planet Ocean. They fit my life, taste and style the best.
