Certainly the lyrics of this song can be read in different ways, but certainly the most obvious and immediate one is to see it as the harvest of a sick and violent love relationship, in which the people who love each other, possess the each other, they hurt each other, sometimes they even hate each other, but they can't stay away despite their efforts.
another waaaaaaaaaay... That note has been my favourite ever of Tool's.. When the rest of the band cuts out and it's just Maynard holding that note. I really wish the Salival version had kept that part the same or even made that longer, so that's why I like this one more, but you gotta check out the other version as the others have said.
Tool is the only band i know that can turn a masterpiece into another masterpiece. For reference, listen to the salival version of Pushit next.....
Facts!
Check out the different version on the Salival album. Really puts it in perspective.
I came here to say this. The Salival version is absolutely epic.
In my top 5 Tool songs /with the salival live version.
The breakdown of this song always makes me think of a lake, or gentle rain. Probably something to do with the percussion. Tool freaking rocks man 🤘🌀
Thanks for reacting to the album version
Dude. You are a badass. This is not easy. You get it.
Such a journey.
Tool will always take you on a trip, and you always end up in the same place. Goose bump city
