I am embarrassed to say I am 10 years late to this party but ‘better late than never.’ I only discovered KNOWER in 2023. 😵💫 Now carefully trolling the archives. I am here for top-tier music but I have to say GA’s hair and makeup here is absolutely stunning. Her vocal performance here is so beautiful, pure and amazing. Some of her best of all time IMHO. The audio recording quality of this piece is great and much better than average for the vibe they normally go for. LC’s Launchpad programming and virtuoso performance on such an “instrument” leaves me speechless. This and all video selection and editing from this duo is fun and dripping with creative and technical talent.

I found Lewis Cole via Clown Core and then discovered Knower. I'm a 61 year old musician and am learning how to program and play this new gear. Lewis is an incredible talent and a genuine inspiration.

Music, as with all art, is subjective. Also, it isn't a meritocracy. There is an element of luck, and your success depends on your connections. Just because someone is more "musically skilled" (which in itself is an arbitrary term) doesn't necessarily mean they will, nor should do well on the global scene. No one is owed fame or fortune.
You like this music, the majority of people don't - let's just leave it at that..

Apart from the whole meritocracy issue maybe their music is actually too complex for this generation but not previous ones. It's music to concentrate on, music that belonged in the age where you sat to listen to a whole album for the sake of it.
Didn't think I could love KNOWER or Gaga any more than I already did.... yet here we are!
Thank you Genevieve and Louis for your incredible music. Like so many, I'm late to the party but who cares, great music is great when ever you come across it. And like so many, I too am also bafffled why your music has not reached a bigger audience... it makes absolutely no sense. Both of you together with your regular band mates are on a different level to most musicians. I'm talking the musical performances, the production, the videos, the presentation, the vibes, and the shear funk power of it all. You've got tunes that could kill it on the main stage at Glastonbury and all the other festivals around the globe. Did you guys happen to upset someone in the 'industry' by any chance and they've like blocked you somehow...?
It's a shame that simple launchpad covers get millions of views while you guys are here doing this... Just blows my mind.

@@Hundred2 Quelques centaines d'euros/dollards c'est trois fois rien pour un pays occidental, mais c'est plus que suffisant pour un Indien moyen. (même si je le conçois, c'est de la l'argent facile, mais en Inde les gens sont payés pour se toucher parfois)
i have no idea about this stuff, can someone help me? looks to me like he can assign a specific sound to any of the buttons and then has to remember the order of buttons for what he needs to play. so while on a keyboard you can rely on the notes being mapped out as they are, on a launchpad like this, basically every song requires a different memorisation (provided you always have the same assigned sounds for each individual button and dont program it in a fashion that it's sequential for each song, basically onply pressing one button after another from left to right

Listening to this song in the car with my ex of 2 years was the best moment we shared together. All the toxicity confusion and heart ache was overpowered by the funk and love . Seriously a Crystal clear memory of us vibing to this and feeling happy, even if just for a moment. Thanks for helping us find solace from the dysfunction.
We’ve moved on and healed since then. I can’t wait to show this to others and make more beautiful memories.

Been following Knower for years and somehow never saw this video. Just discovered it tonight and 10 yrs on, it's still amazing!! People are afraid of AI taking over humans in music. No way a computer can come up with something this creative and well executed. Not to mention the emotion and groove. At the same time, Louis is a great example of using all sorts of technology and sampling and will probably figure out all sorts of new mind-blowing stuff that various AI-involved tools have available.
There's gonna be a ton of really crappy text to audio AI songs created real soon trying to take over the music industry. But it'll be easily dismissed. If humans use it just as a tool to create music and take it even further, then we have a lot of REALLY exciting music coming up to.
Again, so wild to think this was 10 yrs ago. KNOWER still rules.

By doing research, I did not find if her mother is French by origin? ... to give her daughter this first name Geneviève ... it is an old French first name, little used today ... and a little pejorative in France. But personally, I'm already old ... my first name is Jean-François and it's just as old. Geneviève First name Description Description Geneviève is a French female given name of Germanic origin. Sainte Geneviève from a Gallo-Frankish family, saving Paris in the 5th century made her popular. The Latin form is Genovefa. Genovefa is made up of the Celtic element gen and the Germanic element vefa which respectively mean "birth" and "woman". We could also rally it to the Genoese Germanic terms and wifa meaning respectively "good race" and "woman", in this case Geneviève would mean "woman of good race". I had to go listen to the original Lady Gaga because I never followed her. She writes some catchy songs, but I really like what Knower does with them. Beautiful work on Genevieve's makeup and styling! And I'm guessing some tasty vocal processing (along with the great reverb and echo that Knower does so well).
Raw beats and beautiful harmonies in the same song. Great!
