This is by far my favorite version of Wing as well, but I just did not have any fun building this guy. I don't know if I just got a bad run, but I had to glue a lot of the armor parts on because of how easily they were popping off. However, once it was finally built, it just looks so damn good!
MG sinanju is already great but it is not really for the new builders that don't have knowledge in painting. Although there are stickers and waterslides for it, the latter depends on your taste and what suffices your eyes.
You missed the blue flaps can move that are in the middle of the wings and the red thruster sections on the wings can extend as well as long white part of the main wing down to the tips of the wings can also extend.
Agreed, bandai really needs to make a 2.0 with the schematics from the mg wing proto zero which in my opinion is a pretty solid kit itself, the original mg wing Gundam EW was honestly a mess of a build, articulation was meh, the wings are really stiff, the plastic for it is pretty bad, it seems to be an even more aged kit than it should be, and was easily a small hand grenade.
the Hi-Res Wing EW and Wing Zero EW look so freaking much better then the standard versions. Really wish they will make a HG version based on this design. Just for Kitbashing purposes and cus it just looks sexy as hell.
If you think the regular Hi-res Zero looks good, you should see the extra finish edition. Metallic red, blue and gold, with a pearl white. It's a pain in the ass to assemble, but looks gorgeous.
I don't even bother tryig to use it. I pose mine with the beam saber lmao However, someone told me you can actually pose it with the buster rifle if you swap the fingers with those of another Wing EW line.. I will try that !
I got mine as well and so far it looks fantastic, but the thumbs on the hands fall off so easily for my kit. I just started it though and I'm waiting to get my tools to water decal it. Do you have the same issues with the hands?
@@ChildrensCreed you can try using the smallest amount of super glue to thicken it, and then sand it down until it fits snugly. Idk though, I mostly do that on HG kits so I'm not sure if it'd work for MG kits

I've been looking at the EW versions of the old Gundams... The 'redesigns' are sleek and well thought out. Now looking at this HG upgrade for EW Wing.... I honestly have to say, I like it BETTER than Zero Custom... Which is hard for me, cause Wing 0 Custom is my ABSOLUTE favorite. The supposed 'prototype' is sleeker than the upgrade and it looks BETTER.
Hmmm... The New Wing Gundam Hi-Res looks cool. Much less busy looking, the wings are lot more simpler... A lot more solid. Well, I truly am not into Hi-Res, but this kit seems good enough to try.
"the wings are a lot simpler and more solid" But that just just goes hand and hand doesn't it? The Wing Ver ka's always had a more solid wing versus the Zero EW because it was much simpler. The more complex you get the more points of failure you're going to have to take into account.
Just built mine last night. Although that dang lower chest blue piece kept popping off if I looked at it wrong so I ended up just using some Tamiya extra thin cement and it is now staying
I have the High Res Wing Zero special coating and I have to say mine fit very snugly as compared to the standard paint one. For some reason I think the special coated parts are slightly thicker and help parts fit tighter. Maybe I'm just crazy but I didn't have issues putting mine together.

These High Resolution kits are just expensive eye candy. They look awesome, but they're flimsy and they constantly fall apart. For me, that doesn't justify their price tag
even as eye candy, they all tend to be different styles the the source material. not sure about everyone, but im a big fan of the early UC and Wing stuff... as in i buy the gunpla from the animes i like..... this doesnt make me think Wing Gundam, this makes me feel like a fanfiction version of the model.

So, I've recently gotten into airbrushing and painting on custom accents. Do you have any experience with painting the hi-res? I'm worried that when I go to assemble it, I'll have to sand down some bad nubs and end up messing up the Pearl coat and have to touch it up as well as adding panel lining. Do you or anyone know how easy/affective this is?

just finished...wel still need to do the guns but about finished the high rez wing zero custom... i get your frustrations, also those damn hands >.> paint will get them to hang in there better but damn what a step back from most MG hands >.> (especially vs sazabi's ver. ka weird but awsome when done hands), also it's mounting adapter is quite janky, it needs perfect balance or it hangs to one side / or \ >.< definitely recommend a small tube of superglue for it as well had a couple parts that would just leap off first chance they got >.>
The hi-res Astray red was my very first kit, and I love it. The hi-res wing is in my back catalog, and I'm not really looking forward to it after this review. While the hi-res kits look great at a distance, you will have a hard time making the nib marks disappear because of the high polish plastic. Even if you cut real close with God Hands, it's a noticeable mark. If you sand it, well, you then lose the polish, which pretty much cancels the purpose of the hi-res models. All in all, I don't think they're worth the premium unless you're perfectly ok with noticeable nib marks.
You know, any gundam can have a wing gundam like transformation if you just have... Wings, and a Shield. And flexible articulation. Ill leave you guys to think about that
Do you think the upgrades stability has anything to do with a more stable inner frame, or is the armor lighter or separated in a way that allows more freedom of movement? What I'm getting at is, if they tweaked and fixed the frame, could you put the wing zero bits on this frame and fix its problems? I ain't planning on spending that kinda dosh to find out, and I dont expect MG to go thru the hassle of thaking them both apart just to find out, but it would be cool to know, is all.
I'm new to the game yet I have 7 kits rn 6 are hg with 2 of those being hguc and one rg my beloved tallgeese ew I'm fine with hg but I really wanna get a mg but idk what to get since I'm kinda still new at the gundam scene so yeah.
for me hg full armor unit 7, well, yeah the sticker is kinda a lot, i mean, A LOT, but, hell, those shoulder cannon and the overall design is awesome mg is quite a hard choice between buster and gundam origin, i like the buster for the design, but the origin for how easy the build is, but if you want pure awesomeness but ok with the suit not being a gundam, then hyaku shiki 2.0 RE, is for sure, gundam mk 3, its quite tall, have giant wing binder, good panel line, decent amount of marking, with minimum amount of foil sticker, straight forward snapfit, hell this kit even have more panel line than most mg i have, but yeah, because this kit is re kit, some parts are hollow like the skirt and the shield, BUT! it have a premium but flap ;))))
Still nothing beats nor tie the mg dynames mecha??.. Maybe if they release the kyrios like the hint u said before..what do you think?? Haha so excited if it's really true!... Hopefully mg virtue ang ver.2 of mg exia too!..

It's true. It's basically the equivalent of "Endless Waltz" redesigne for Wing (and Wing doesn't appear there). I believe some manga adaptations feature this design.
Maybe it's just me but i would still choose the old MG in terms of proportions. Yes the hi res detailing is insanely good, but looking at how bulk the body and how small the head is, it really bothers me. 😂 Well that's just me.

HiRM is all cool and all but what I really want is 2.0 of :
1. HG Unicorn
2. HG Sazabi
3. All MG Wing Gundam
4. MG Exia
5. MG Sinanju

A better Sinanju is in line. Sinanju is a very beautiful MS which hasn't been given justice.

I'd say Wing Gundam Seraphim is a bit more heavenly than Wing Zero.

That Hi'Res made the Ver'ka look like a HG.
I think you have the shoulder cannon covers reversed. You might try to switch them. I could be wrong but they look like they will fit better.

you should get the drei zwergs it has a total of 9 of them its kinda impressive and adds to the depth of the design
Mecha, you may need an UHU glue for those loose C-clips.

Frame is the exact same. Material may be different, but its mechanics remain unchanged.
