We've just got this in the UK and I love it. I'm the same I prefer the aloe vera one as it moisturises my locs really well without drying out my scalp. The rosewater one dried out my hair and made it feel itchy.
I just used this to wash my hair and it's the cleanest it's been since it's been locked! I definitely bought it because you loved the aloe one so much!

I loooove mine. Gives me a clarifying wash. Especially, for a silk press. A little goes a looong way.

Hubby just picked up the rose shampoo for me. But in my spray, I always add aloe vera and glycerin for moisture. I also ordered some rosewater spray to try it as well. I’m excited to shampoo my hair.

TFS! Since starting my microlocs journey in Oct 2020 the Aloe shampoo has been my staple as recommended by my loctician. Not that I need it but just ordered this Rose one to try... keep you posted! 😃

I officially installed my locs on Christmas Eve. Thanks to your videos, prior to actually locking I went and bought new products including the regular version of this shampoo to aid my journey. I’m curious about the Rose version of this shampoo but considering that I have bought two shampoos in the last week I think I’ll be good for a while.

@@Niaimani92 the loc process requires sooo much more patience bc the gray hair doesn’t have the same coil pattern as naturally pigmented hair. It’s basically straight. If I had a few random grays here and their mixed in that’s one thing but they are concentrated on my edges which I hear already takes the longest to loc in the first place.

I have to admit that I don't need a new shampoo right now because I've been using Melanin Hair Care's Black Soap shampoo and I'm loving it! But hearing you rave about Carol's Daughter Aloe Shampoo, I can't resist! It's now in my Amazon cart and I'm trying to resist the urge to add the Rose Water as well. I really trust your judgment and I don't mind the rose water fragrance so I may end up getting both just to try lol. Thanks for the demo and review!

Is melanin hair care’s black soap shampoo a good clarifying shampoo for new locs?
@@terriedavis417 For me it was, especially because I have a problem scalp and the ingredients in the shampoo help me a whole lot. Also, the instructions on the bottle say to apply shampoo only to the roots and then let the suds run down to the ends when you rinse it out. I've found it much easier to apply only to roots of my locs. It was harder to do that with my loose natural hair. Hope this helps 🌺

I was leaning towards the aloe version before this review because they replaced limonene with propylene glycol, a drying alcohol, in the rose version. Why??? I was wondering if it would make a difference, and your experience seems to show that it does slightly. Def purchasing the aloe version on Amazon soon! I don’t think the aloe made a difference, because aloe is present in the rose version too.
I feel you on conditioner. Oil does me justice. However, I’m curious if I can save how much oil I use by using conditioner, because I run through that stuff fast with using it on my body and hair. Unlike you, I couldn’t resist buying By Made Beautiful’s purifying rinse and detox masque on Black Friday (quality ingredients, full sized products for $3 each!?!? Don’t judge). I’ll dilute the conditioner in water and spray it on. It’ll be the first time doing it on my locks, we’ll see what happens.

I never thought about using conditioner to save on oils. That's an idea I can get behind. I guess it it causes build up, I could always just do a deep cleanse and a loc detox. Jus Audria used a foam conditioner once on her channel. She said it was easier to wash out without buildup. I was considering trying something like that.
This is a judgement free zone lol! I love trying new products! I feel like it's frowned upon in the loc community, but I am going to continue doing it lol !

I have been using this shampoo since I started my locs in June. I love this shampoo( the original) its literally the only shampoo I use. Have you tried Oyin juices and berries spray? Also black owned 😊
I haven't tried those, but I really want to. I heard they smell really good. Are they only sold online?
I love the aloe one to. But I also use the Trader Joe’s tea tree mingle it helps my scalp so much And it’s cheap

L’Oréal acquired the company back in 2014 I believe. While Lisa Price was still the owner, the company had financial issues and went into bankruptcy (multiple times?). She is still the face of the company, but she doesn’t own it.
