    Petey with Miller in the lineup - 11 points in 22 games
    Petey without Miller in the lineup - 15 points in 10 games
    Sure, small sample size .... and a lot of assists ..... but who isnt happy with a 120 point player?

    • @seamusoleary3712

      yep, the team has played better without Miller in the lineup, but yes, it is a small sample size... I figure if the Canucks can get something for Miller, it might be the best for everyone... besides, in a couple of more years, that Miller contract is gonna start hurting the team as Miller ages and becomes less effective.

      Bruce Boudreau came out and said that when he was hired as the head coach of Vancouver.....he heard that JT and Petterson hated each other.

      JT is tougher mentally then petey. petey at his best is a top 20 player in the league but who knows if we get that player back. JT is on a better deal salary wise though. return for jt would be better as of rn

      @ohbequietlol 14 часов назад

      @@troysander5731he's exiting his prime real soon and he'll eventually start DECLINING. Teams are aware of that. Petterson would bring more value in a trade.....he's younger and still has time to get better. Therefore, the return in a trade would be HIGHER for Petterson.

    • @ohbequietlol
      @ohbequietlol 14 часов назад

      @@troysander5731you'd probably get a 1st round pick in a trade for JT and another few assets...but at this point a team would probably protect the pick if it ended up being a high pick.
      Compared to Petterson...you'd probably get an UNPROTECTED 1st round pick+ other assets

    I’m cut from the ‘old school’ game so I am generally okay with Miller being tough on teammates. But he has been traded twice and he seems to be the core piece to all the team drama. To me the weight of evidence sets off alarm bells. Without knowing the details I can’t point the finger solely in Millers direction but it is certainly leaning that way.

    At the end of the day, these are professional athletes being paid millions of dollars... management and coaches need to find a way to get these players to come to terms that you don't need to be buddies to be good co-workers working for a common goal. Not all championship-winning teams have players all loving one another, but they need to be on the same page when playing - failing to do so is both the fault of the coaches and the players involved.

    Neither Miller nor Petey were particularly good vs. Vegas, who doesn't have a problem dealing with their high ego, formerly problematic star players. Ultimately good franchises and good players figure these things out automatically. Vegas was gifted a good franchise at the outset.

    At the end of the day, it is the "team" that wins hockey games and gives you "Compete". I must admit some of Petterson's self-indulging, pouty interviews have rubbed me the wrong way, as well as the fact that he all but disappeared in the Playoffs last year and, in fact, the latter part of the season since signing his "franchise player" contract.
    It makes sense to keep the player who is most passionate about winning-- like Vancouver fans-- and shows up when it counts. I do not hold competitiveness over Miller's head as at the end of the day hockey is a competitive sport and Vancouver is a competitive hockey market; however, if his personality is indeed overwhelming the rest of the team as some analysts seem to suggest then I would resign myself to moving Miller as long as the Canucks mgmt. make a SMART trade that truly improves the TEAM.

    The quality of the player should be measured by the value added to the TEAM.
    If there is a highly skilled but toxic player on a team, his individual talents are less than worthless as his personal accomplishments hide the team damage.
    Anyone that’s played enough team sports has experienced that one “JT Miller” on the team, simultaneously saving and drowning the team. And the lucky ones out there that had a great coach smart enough to see a drowning team must cut out the cancer regardless of the individual strength, knows what has to happen.

    Miller has to go. If people think Petey is "soft" thats something that training and conditioning can fix... the Sedins we're tiny and useless for almost 5 seasons at the beginning of their careers and went on to be two of the most dominant players in the league. Keeping Miller around and shipping Petey out doesnt change the fact that Miller is toxic in the room, and would likely just end up causing drama with the next player he thinks is "soft."

It seemed like the first 1 or 2 time Lekkerimaki just laughed it off but then Miller just kept doing it. Let's not forget to that was his last game before he took his indefinite leave. He was playing horrible hockey that night aswell as in the games prior. I find it wild how so many fans say f@ck Messier and don't realize that Miller is essentially the modern day Messier and the Canucks management and coaching staff are all trying to cater to him...just as it was done for Messier in the past.

J T Miller is just another in a long line of players who desperately want to NOT play in Vancouver. They've been in the NHL for 54 years and still have not won the Stanley Cup!!! It's like they were jinxed. There was an old broadcaster who, when they chose the name Canucks, said that with a name like that they've never win the cup. He's been right so far. JT needs to give his head a fkin shake and both need to grow TF up. That being said, IF it doesnt work itself out in the next say month? they will fall out of a playoff spot and then 1 of them will have to go. Depending on the return whichever it is they will need to get someone as good as them and peteys age or younger, WHILE addressing the needs to become a reall contender again

    I dunno. This whole thing should never have been allowed to get this far. If my kids are scrapping, we make them work it out. These are paid professionals. Adults. I say play the Lotto line exclusively until they stop acting like little shits.

    Vancouver needs better leadership if this is actually becoming a problem. It's safe to say that Petey does play much softer than most players on the ice and gets pushed around a lot. He needs to find a way to adapt better. It's also safe to say that Miller lets his emotions get the better of him at times, he's extremely competitive. That can be a boon to others, or it can be a detriment if you end up trying to micro manage your teammates. My advice would be to cut the noise and focus on improving your own game and let that do the talking. If that's not enough then that's when you need more leadership from your Captain and Coach.

    #40 is a pro athlete making a very pro salary and he has either consciously or sub consciously tanked his game because he doesn't like miller. imo, a pro at anything doesn't act this way. if i move anybody it's #40. you move miller and bring in someone else. what if he doesn't like THIS player? now what? you can't have the patients running the asylum. miller isn't the cancer...petie is. i didn't watch the vegas game last night and i'm not watching any more games until the elephant in the room is fixed.

      Sorry man but the evidence is stacked against JT, he has had too many blow ups on the bench and the ice. Freaking out at your goalie not once but TWICE because HE wants them off the ice before the Coach calls the goalie off is not good. Last time I checked JT is not the coach and can’t make the call to tell the goalie ringer off the ice for the extra player.
