At the end of the day, it is the "team" that wins hockey games and gives you "Compete". I must admit some of Petterson's self-indulging, pouty interviews have rubbed me the wrong way, as well as the fact that he all but disappeared in the Playoffs last year and, in fact, the latter part of the season since signing his "franchise player" contract. It makes sense to keep the player who is most passionate about winning-- like Vancouver fans-- and shows up when it counts. I do not hold competitiveness over Miller's head as at the end of the day hockey is a competitive sport and Vancouver is a competitive hockey market; however, if his personality is indeed overwhelming the rest of the team as some analysts seem to suggest then I would resign myself to moving Miller as long as the Canucks mgmt. make a SMART trade that truly improves the TEAM.
The quality of the player should be measured by the value added to the TEAM. If there is a highly skilled but toxic player on a team, his individual talents are less than worthless as his personal accomplishments hide the team damage. Anyone that’s played enough team sports has experienced that one “JT Miller” on the team, simultaneously saving and drowning the team. And the lucky ones out there that had a great coach smart enough to see a drowning team must cut out the cancer regardless of the individual strength, knows what has to happen.

Miller has to go. If people think Petey is "soft" thats something that training and conditioning can fix... the Sedins we're tiny and useless for almost 5 seasons at the beginning of their careers and went on to be two of the most dominant players in the league. Keeping Miller around and shipping Petey out doesnt change the fact that Miller is toxic in the room, and would likely just end up causing drama with the next player he thinks is "soft."
Yup you got that right. Did anyone see Lekkerimakis first goal celebration. Miller kept shoving his gloves in the kids face and flipping off his helmet. It seemed like the first 1 or 2 time Lekkerimaki just laughed it off but then Miller just kept doing it. Let's not forget to that was his last game before he took his indefinite leave. I dunno. This whole thing should never have been allowed to get this far. If my kids are scrapping, we make them work it out. These are paid professionals. Adults. I say play the Lotto line exclusively until they stop acting like little shits.
Vancouver needs better leadership if this is actually becoming a problem. It's safe to say that Petey does play much softer than most players on the ice and gets pushed around a lot. He needs to find a way to adapt better. It's also safe to say that Miller lets his emotions get the better of him at times, he's extremely competitive. That can be a boon to others, or it can be a detriment if you end up trying to micro manage your teammates. My advice would be to cut the noise and focus on improving your own game and let that do the talking. If that's not enough then that's when you need more leadership from your Captain and Coach.
You say they can't play on the same line This team needs more than just a 1 line wonder. They said Pettersson does not have the right folks to play with ..Than you get players and none of them worked ..hmmm..But blame jt Miller
trade miller... its just a tired story with him at this point. just move on and try to get decent value from him before he brings his own value further down.
#40 is a pro athlete making a very pro salary and he has either consciously or sub consciously tanked his game because he doesn't like miller. imo, a pro at anything doesn't act this way. if i move anybody it's #40. you move miller and bring in someone else. what if he doesn't like THIS player? now what? you can't have the patients running the asylum. miller isn't the cancer...petie is. i didn't watch the vegas game last night and i'm not watching any more games until the elephant in the room is fixed.
Sorry man but the evidence is stacked against JT, he has had too many blow ups on the bench and the ice. Freaking out at your goalie not once but TWICE because HE wants them off the ice before the Coach calls the goalie off is not good. Last time I checked JT is not the coach and can’t make the call to tell the goalie ringer off the ice for the extra player.

There is no way in hell Allvin will trade Petey now. If its between the two JT will be traded. IF Petey dosent perfrom the next 1-2 season then its possible but it aint happening for a while...
Get rid of them both.
JT basically refused to leave the ice during overtime against Utah, not wanting Petey to come on?
That shouldn't be his choice......he carries out coach's deployment whether he likes or not
This is sooooo dumb
Should have traded Miller instead of Horvat...😡
JT needs to give his head a fkin shake and both need to grow TF up. That being said, IF it doesnt work itself out in the next say month? they will fall out of a playoff spot and then 1 of them will have to go. Depending on the return whichever it is they will need to get someone as good as them and peteys age or younger, WHILE addressing the needs to become a reall contender again
If that's not enough then that's when you need more leadership from your Captain and Coach.
trade them both. do what the flyers did 13 yrs ago. traded BOTH jeff carter and mike richards seperately.
need to man up and pass the childish behavior between the two
Who would take JT after this. He's from Ohio right, maybe Blue Jackets for Provorov
Vote Miller off the island asap
Miller to the Rangers for cuylle and Schneider.
Petey's contract would be impossible to move but if Buffalo would take JT in a trade for Cozens, pull the trigger.
But not a one on on trade. They need to throw in bynam
@felipepineda1585 Why not? Wishful thinking either way, unlikely JT would agree to Buffalo.
@@Steveriknows - wishful thinking
Sat Shaw & the 650 boys worked hard to get rid of Horvat
You say they can't play on the same line
This team needs more than just a 1 line wonder.
They said Pettersson does not have the right folks to play with ..Than you get players and none of them worked ..hmmm..But blame jt Miller
Trade them both for draft pics and prospects
Bruce was not a Benning hire.
Miller time to go 🤠🚬🍻😸
they'll have to trade the older guy & keep the younger guy (pete plays better w/o mills
trade miller... its just a tired story with him at this point. just move on and try to get decent value from him before he brings his own value further down.
Love them both but.. I will take the 26 year old over the 31 year old. Strictly business!
18:th of february 2025 Sweden (with Elias P) vs USA (with JT Miller), then we would have much of the questions answered! Or?
Everyone talking crap about about either one of them STFU!! You arent in the locker room so put a sock in it!
Trade Miller
the old canucks are back! so is the old jt miller! wt else is new!
He’s weak
Sorry man but the evidence is stacked against JT, he has had too many blow ups on the bench and the ice. Freaking out at your goalie not once but TWICE because HE wants them off the ice before the Coach calls the goalie off is not good. Last time I checked JT is not the coach and can’t make the call to tell the goalie ringer off the ice for the extra player.
@ typical soy Vancouver comment. Yayyy petey twink
Booo jt is mean and intense
Petey is a bit of a baby though
Sick of seeing these whinny fans on utube Canucks it’s always something or excuses
Million dollar babies
patrick allvin made a huge mistake, signing pettey 96 m for 8 years! they should of traded him and wood of saved over 90 m bucks over 8 years
Trade Miller and Hoglander and Desharnais to Jersey for the Hughes brothers and a 2nd. No more problems
Can’t trade all players miller picks a fight with or won’t have a team
