Nice vid! Three things from me: 1. Map knowledge is essential to knowing not just where the choke points might be, but where targets are going to appear according to radar. 2. Sniper rifles have a smaller FOV and that is why they should only be used at choke points. 3. The type of sniper people should aspire to be is one that rotates their spots and mixes their play style during the game. If they just camp long sight lines like pantheon and shores of time, they can be avoided easily, or team-shot. Keep it up TV.
Honestly, I was terrible at PVP. When I actually decided to watch all of these sniping school vids, I have gotten significantly better at primary and special battles. Thanks a ton TV! Keep doing your thing.
Man, TV, just when I think you've covered it all you come out with a FANTASTIC video. Being consciously aware of the pints in this vid will make me a better player! Thank you!
Dude. G-re-at video. Thinking back on how I play I can see that I partially do this without thinking, but hearing you talk about it will force me to make more mental notes of future engagements. Thank you for these lessons, they've definitely helped up my game.
I started watching these videos yesterday. I was gonna do that sniping patrol practice thing, but I got a few new things right when I got on Destiny today, so I was like "Ehh, I'll practice tomorrow". Thing is, just from the few videos I've watched, I've already found a huge difference in my sniping. Keep up the awesome work!
Hey Vanguard, This video was wonderful in the advice category. After I got home from work, I played 3 games of Banner. Each game I followed the ideas in this video to a T, and I found that my scores were better. I was prepared for nearly every gunfight as long as I went in with a cool mindset.
there are a lot of people who said this video was common sense... I'm not one of them. this isn't just the best Destiny sniping tutorial I've seen, it's the best PvP tutorial! you rock true! keep up the good work!
Some players just do this naturally without realising what they have just done, including me! (regarding the primary or secondary change depending what territory your enemy is in). So thank you making this informative video TV, I have probably not done this every single time so in the future I'll make sure I do this consistently :)
Thank you for making this video. I'm sure it wasn't in response, but there are some videos out saying you've already said all there is to say about teaching to snipe in this game, but you've managed to capture another important aspect. I only wish I were the only one watching so there wouldn't be so many good snipers in the crucible!
Excellent video, I find myself getting killed a lot lately while pondering my weapon choice in certain situations, I really appreciate the insights and guidelines.
thanks vanguard I have been struggling a lot in trials lately but in 6v6 gamemode I do extremely well and I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong and this has really helped
Headshots are so over-rated. Comboing is a legitimate tactic... and if you don't do it because you're afraid of being t-bagged or being made fun of you're really limiting yourself. Really enjoyed the episode TV, super helpful. I want to learn how to think in shapes and creating my own choke points, really enjoyed that aspect of the video. :)
Really good video, as per usual, but even more so this time. Solid info, great points, love the takedown of the "baaawdieshots" crowd at the end. Kudos.
Thank you again for a great video. I kind of saw myself doing this a bit lately but now they way you just explained it makes perfect sense. Thanks again for another amazing video
A very helpful video once again. Great insight on how you play! Actually used these strategies this morning in IB..k/d never got below 2.0..MIDA for the win. It's a fun weapon to learn. It rewards accuracy.
ok well this came in handy for me in the matches of iron banner that weren't lagging. I came upon a door and was ready with my sniper and peaked saw a warlock sniping and took him out. switched to my primary to enter and heard a hammer pop. taking your advice I jumped back to create a choke point and sniped him quick before he got to hammer on me. the warlock then self resed and I quick scoped him. as I went to reload I heard a golden gun pop and come around I hit his chest as you had said on a earlier video and moved out of sight switching to my primary. He challenged and I head shot with my pulse rifle getting the kill and walked away with no damage. Got to say that was a first for me and I was glad I watched this video. so thanks for these videos True V. defiantly help alot
I recently just started to practice sniping on Destiny and I'm glad I came across your videos to get more tips to help me improve! I will keep practicing more and hope to be good someday! Thank you for the helpful guide, True Vanguard :)
TV, think about doing in one of your next Sniping Lessons: an overall review on the main/best currently perks for snipers. Those perks that will fit most of the snipers, the ones that in your opinion are the ones we need to be looking forward to get. Another idea would be to get 5 or 6 snipers you like most and do a quick review on those, and what you think the best perks are. Since you are a expert on the subject, I guess it would be easy for you to do and think about it :)
Been watching ur gameplay for awhile. Always impressed with how simple and smooth things look in ur gameplay. I've used ur videos to improve my own play and have really noticed the fun I'm having again in pvp. Would love to play a few games with you to pick ur brain. Gg
One of the most educational and informative videos you posted! Thanks! I disagree with one thing though, you say: "see you in the crucible!" I hope not!
Great video as always TV, I do most of those things already most of the time, sometimes I get frustrated and don't think and end up dying a lot. The only thing I haven't done as much is seeing what I can shoot through because I'll see a gap in an object but when I try and shoot through it the game doesn't let me.
Awesome video as usual. Would it be possible to make a video about map awareness. Meaning how to decide where to sight in from, and avoid being flanked. Freakin' Bannerfall drove me insane this week :P
Hey TV I was wondering if you could do a video outlining your bladedancer and your build around it. I love the gunslinger, but I'm inconsistent with the bladedancer and its ranged abilities and how to use the grenades wisely. Thanks for reading!
good old fashioned angles and shit in fps. played counterstrike (1.0ish to 1.6) more than half my life so I love this video bc a lot of ppl don't grasp angles and like you see them before u if you're farther from a corner than they are, for example
So going into knowing when to use the Sniper, what happens when you factor in priming a target? When is a good time to use the sniper to prime a target if you absolutely have to?
thanks for the sniper tips they help me out alot I just played on my dads account he has a multi tool and a 1000 yard stare with mulligan and my first match I got a 5.12 kd it was so unbeliveable but I was trying really hard so I guess thats why
Hey True Vangaurd. I would love to see a video from you on the topic of Skill-Based Matchmaking. I personally hate the idea but it looks like it's not going anywhere anytime soon. You should make a video about it.
Hey Vanguard! I was wondering, what other uses can you use the bellicose for? I've been using it a ton with NLB and Sidearm (also fusion rifles and stuff, switchin it up for fun) and I feel like there is more too it than we are currently using it for. also what do you think the designers intent with it was when they designed it? Much love and thank you, my friends and mines games have forever been changed by your videos,
I'm so trash with using the Defiance of Yasmin. I've gotten so use to using my Stillpiercer. I only wanted the defiance because I always see you going ham with it. xD
Hey, whatever sniper is best for you works! Mine is the defiance and weyloran's March but I try not to get hidden hand on mine cause I like it to have less aim assist
@truevanguard Have you ever considered doing like a video doctor series where you break down some of your viewers clips? You could point out the good, the bad, what to improve upon etc.? There really isn't any thing like that at least for Destiny. I think you are a great communicator and certainly break your own plays down very well. You can even look at great clips; like I have a 22-0 unbroken where I know I actually could have done better. (FYI, I'm not that good)
Hey TV. I could use some advice. What would you say a good way to practice winning gun battles is? I've been getting shit stomped lately and I feel I'm not getting my shots on target. Any advice? Thanks a ton ~Thuunder
Is this floating feathers in the intro? I was trying to find it for the longest, yours sounds a bit sped up? I'd honestly pay you for your version if it's changed in any way, I have adhd and anxiety and it always helps me to listen to that along with your layed back delivery. Would mean a lot if you'd respond tv.
So a few things... I watched all your sniping videos because I know sniping wins trials, crucible, and its untapped territory. I never sniped in Halo and now I have a sudden interest in it! I average 17 - 25 kills as a shotty. Now I see that the winners that get to the light house are all snipers for the most part. This video REALLY helped me understand "WHEN" to use a sniper because as before I'd run into rooms with a sniper and get upset that I was sniped thinking that I would have had the surprise on them. Secondly, I noticed you jump around a lot... Is that normal for you or just happened in those battles? Should I be jumping around while sniping? (Remember No sniping experience here whatsoever).Lastly, I noticed you were using the Yasmin and all your other videos another sniper I did not recognize... Is the Yasmin your go to now or better with Aim Assist? Please let me know so I get the right "beginning sniper". I did just get the 250 bounty sniper 1000 Yard Stare that has a neat scope unlike the Vanguard one.
True Vanguard can you make a video on how to stop or win against triple sun-singer running firebolt, Viking funeral that are actually skilled rushing non stop camping there early pick. I can usually only win against this strat if I'm on my warlock or my hunter, however with my Titan it's just so hard.
Vanguard went full on savage in the last few seconds with the commentary 😂
once again gameplay was so beautiful I couldn't pay attention to what you were saying. had to watch again. 10/10!
Awwww thanks thanks man!
+True Vanguard awesome video
Shame trials plays completely differently
+True Vanguard yay you showed the clip where hovey complimented you lol
Nice vid! Three things from me:

I've been with you since the beginning and this was probably the single most helpful sniping video you've posted imo. Great job
Hey Vanguard,
This video was wonderful in the advice category.
I found this video exceptionally helpful. Using visual elements and drawing out spaces really helped illustrate your points.
Great vid! Helps out a lot . I'm trying to get into snipping. This lets me see it through a different perspective. Thank you.
This is EXTREMELY HELPFUL, thank you! :)
The whole suite of training videos have helped but this particular vid is in a class of its own.
Some players just do this naturally without realising what they have just done, including me! (regarding the primary or secondary change depending what territory your enemy is in). So thank you making this informative video TV, I have probably not done this every single time so in the future I'll make sure I do this consistently :)
I love the stuff you say about "creating" or looking out for door-like shapes. I will very much keep it in mind :D
Dude. You make it sound so easy and logical. Now if I had opposable thumbs I would rock it!
I live how these tips transfer to so many other games, not only Destiny.
Keep it up TV :)
I think this was the most helpful video you've uploaded so far. Gonna go apply this.
Thank you for making this video. I'm sure it wasn't in response, but there are some videos out saying you've already said all there is to say about teaching to snipe in this game, but you've managed to capture another important aspect. thanks vanguard I have been struggling a lot in trials lately but in 6v6 gamemode I do extremely well and I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong and this has really helped
I just have to say thank you. You have def helped me increase my gameplay tremendously.
+JSings4Life95 agree and dont forget that body shots also gets kills
In the first clip what sniper was he using?
i love the background music in your videos. and your commentary is perfect as well.
I think this is my favorite in the sniper school series so far. thanks TV
Awesome! I was excited when I saw you had uploaded another sniper training video. It did not disappoint!
I love your videos man, I appreciate you putting this content out. This is especially good for all the new playeres!
really enjoying these videos man there helping my sniping a lot I'm glad you have a whole series on this.
Legend has it that True Vanguard can snipe 3 people with one bullet.
It's true.... All of it....
+22KingWizard PPPpfff! I HEARD that its was 4 people and an Ogre with one bullet from a sidearm! :P
+Zurai Itineris You are all wrong, it is all of the Deathsingers and Oryx from one shot from khovostov
+Joshua Day noo its a melee not kovostov
Wouldn't doubt it
Really good video, as per usual, but even more so this time. Solid info, great points, love the takedown of the "baaawdieshots" crowd at the end. Kudos.
Thank you for your pointers! Your channel continually assists me in becoming a better player :D
Great stuff VT! Very helpful insight. Definitely gonna make it a point to think like this more often before and during engagements.
*TV
Im re-watching this again, amazing gameplay and tutorial... just funny to see 19 in the special slot.
Thank you again for a great video. I kind of saw myself doing this a bit lately but now they way you just explained it makes perfect sense. Thanks again for another amazing video
Why would anyone dislike this video? It's super helpful!
so glad you posted this I'm always getting it wrong😂😂
extremely useful tip video, definitely something i need to work on because i can tend to keep the sniper out too long
Glad to see you're still doing these.
Always enjoy your vids. Been watching them since you had a few hundred subs when you were posting on the forum asking people to look at your channel.
Hey Vanguard, this one is incredibly awesome! Thanks for making great content. So appreciated!
Hey True. I always love your videos, but this one really hit the spot for me. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Excellent tips man!!
A very helpful video once again. Great insight on how you play! Actually used these strategies this morning in IB..k/d never got below 2.0..MIDA for the win. It's a fun weapon to learn. It rewards accuracy.
This was a great video, some people struggle to identify this. Thanks for the great content
I just wanna say holy crap your God and One thing I really like about you is that you don't say your good. You just Play the GAME!
ok well this came in handy for me in the matches of iron banner that weren't lagging. Wow. Super helpful. Thank you. I hope to see more Sniper School videos to come.
I really enjoy these crucible tips videos, good shit.
I recently just started to practice sniping on Destiny and I'm glad I came across your videos to get more tips to help me improve! I will keep practicing more and hope to be good someday! Thank you for the helpful guide, True Vanguard :)
Sniping is very satisfying when you get them headshots.
Destiny Killer
I agree :)
lmao

Not gonna lie. You and mtashed have the best crucible guides. (Notic I put a period after that ;)
Creating those "rooms" you mention sound easy but damn it goes well with someone with your skills.
Great video, TV! You're a wealth of good info.
Been watching ur gameplay for awhile. Always impressed with how simple and smooth things look in ur gameplay. I've used ur videos to improve my own play and have really noticed the fun I'm having again in pvp. Would love to play a few games with you to pick ur brain. Gg
THIS is what I needed help with!
Thanks a lot TrueVanguard!
Nice vid man! I really liked the more technical type stuff... more of the highlighting the chokepoints and stuff.
One of the most educational and informative videos you posted! Thanks!
I disagree with one thing though, you say: "see you in the crucible!" I hope not!

great tips gonna show this to my friends as we all struggle with this
Awesome video as usual.
Would it be possible to make a video about map awareness. Meaning how to decide where to sight in from, and avoid being flanked.
Freakin' Bannerfall drove me insane this week :P
Another Sniper School video? Yes Please!
"So suck iiiiit!" lmao. great tips and video as always man! Keep it up!
Hey TV I was wondering if you could do a video outlining your bladedancer and your build around it. I love the gunslinger, but I'm inconsistent with the bladedancer and its ranged abilities and how to use the grenades wisely. Thanks for reading!
Now if I can just put these tips into practice! Thanks TV!!
good old fashioned angles and shit in fps. played counterstrike (1.0ish to 1.6) more than half my life so I love this video bc a lot of ppl don't grasp angles and like you see them before u if you're farther from a corner than they are, for example
Awesome video TV. You, Hovey, and mana need to get hand cannon reload gloves though.
Your black spindle clip was very nice
Holy crap. Great vid, I learned a lot from this.
i just posted my first Destiny video!! I gave been watching you since 1.5k and i have been using your tips and getting better. Thanks TV!!!
Could you do a video on your favorite subclass setup and weapons and explain why my chose something over something else for the various classes?
"Well, you got 100 points and they didn't... so, suck it!" - True Vanguard 2016
Why are you snipes so amazing. IDGI
Great tips! You're the MVP ;)
TV could you discuss using snipers to prime/finish a target with body shots?
Really Appreciate this. Hopefully I can execute this specific task well!
So going into knowing when to use the Sniper, what happens when you factor in priming a target? When is a good time to use the sniper to prime a target if you absolutely have to?
thank u thats been my biggest problem
TV, talking about sniping: what sensetivity do you play on currently/usually?
Outstanding advice. well done. Will you be streaming tonight? And if so, what time? Been wanting to catch you for quite some time
Super nice vid! Going to practice this now
thanks for the sniper tips they help me out alot I just played on my dads account he has a multi tool and a 1000 yard stare with mulligan and my first match I got a 5.12 kd it was so unbeliveable but I was trying really hard so I guess thats why

At 7:45, Did you said "That's a bunch of Hogwash"?
Very helpful! Thanks brotha!
I love the feel of the Stillpiercer, yet I mainly use a Warlock. Is there anything fairly similar to it?
Hey TV. I could use some advice. What would you say a good way to practice winning gun battles is? I've been getting shit stomped lately and I feel I'm not getting my shots on target. Any advice? Thanks a ton ~Thuunder
great video. nice use of the arrows and on screen assistence
its assistance not tence...not hating, just trying to help
+Kingdrago tell me an autocorrect to my 4.33 GPA
Jeez, I tried to be nice, but people cant even handle a comment without being rude lol. Whatever, 4.33 gpa smart kid
unless i interpreted your comment wrong
+josiah davis For a 4.33 GPA, you didn't use punctuation properly or capitalize the first letter of a sentence.
Great vid thanks. Whats the perks on that snipe?
What is that song in the background and in the intro TrueVanguard? I really like it.
I'd love to see you use The First Curse.
+Deo Rantus first curse is op when you get that headshot kill
That's last bit hahahaha "suck it" so funny
Is this floating feathers in the intro? I was trying to find it for the longest, yours sounds a bit sped up? I'd honestly pay you for your version if it's changed in any way, I have adhd and anxiety and it always helps me to listen to that along with your layed back delivery. hey tru, do you use slide sniping much? it's so satisfying to use as a counter sniping tool, esp with shadestep
