In response to some comments below: Yes, playing against known highly skilled players using all thorns and shotties I used my last word and a sniper I'm comfortable with. Am I supposed to be ashamed of that? Unfortunately the weapons in this game are not yet balanced. That's a dev problem, not a gamer problem. We shouldn't shame gamers for using weapons the devs are supposed to balance.
To clarify, when I say "Don't talk about how you died," Im talking raging like most players do. "What a freaking noob, double bodied me like a scrub, didn't even deserve the kill. Why did I double peek, I shouldn't have even challenged that." That's not a callout.
You're absolutely correct in saying it's a tough habit to break. Especially difficult if you're trying not to call out the fact you just got double bodied by a sniper through 16ft of concrete!
This is one of the directly helpful videos I've seen from you TrueVanguard--a lot of tangible, specific advice that will make any 3 person team better regardless of their opponents. Thank you for this incredible resource; I've shared it with my clan to offer them tips in playing more 3v3.
Keep these vids up +TrueVanguard. I really enjoy just listening to you explain yourself. That honestly has helped me become a better pvper. I enjoy how the advice is more tactical and not just tips to outgun your opponent. Thanks a lot!
awesome TV as always love your videos. I tried some trials today with some friends who don't play much pvp and needless to say it didn't go well. I've only played trials a few times myself but plan on starting to play a lot more to push myself to get better against people much better than me. Your videos push me to keep trying and looking for new ways to look at how I can improve in the game. thanks man
thank you for posting content that is incredible to watch as well as stuff that I don't mind my boys watching as we try to get better at Destiny! great stuff!
Hey True Vanguard. This would be my first time commenting on any of your videos but I'm a long time subscriber (probably around 15K or so). Just wanted to show my appreciation for the instructional videos. My game play in crucible has definitely improved as a result. Wish you the best in all of your future endeavors and with the new addition to the family :) Keep up the good work sir.
hi man, just want to thank for all good info bout gaming n stuff, im not that quick anymore and ur tips have helped a lot tryin to improve my pvp game,so thanks man
First thing I thought when I saw this title: I can always rely on True Vanguard to hit me up with the guides I need. LETS GOOO TV U DA BEST FAM THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
Love your vids, this actually helps a lot because i was not even aware of some of the things i do like this, kinda like with your vid on using NLB, i never noticed i flicked my aim up till you said. Same here, didnt think about saying HOW i died rather than if they are about dead, etc. Keep up the good work.
just wanted to say Awesome vid, loving the channel and glad I subbed, I'm always trying to up my crucible game and this type of content is perfect to help me progress. thanks for sharing.
Can I just give a basic tip that lots of people forget, the weapon you use most.... GET SOME RELOAD GAUNTLETS FOR THAT WEAPON .thanks, it's just the fact that a faster reload could be the difference between loosing or winning an engagement
Some these tips seem so self-evident. But keeping a clear head and playing logically can be easier said then done once the bullets start flying and the pulse starts racing.
this is some super good advice I bet the people u use these on won't get the last word but remember playing against this type of people requires patience and time and always a plan c,except for if ur the kind of person with no backup plans
Her Ben is easily my favorite sniper. I rolled a Hidden Hand, Performance Bonus, Snapshot, Shortgaze on mine and use it for almost everything. :) I also just love the look to it. If I ever had the chance to use the Supremacy I'm sure I would love that too.
one of the most important things when playing sweats is to try to not go on tilt. I've had teammates just stop being able to play well due to how flustered they got. And don't blame your damn team for anything. If someone keeps losing that initial sniper battle, don't bitch them out, be constructive and tell them that the other teams sniper is too on point, and not to challenge this round. This probably sounds like common stuff, but Ive had to tell people to calm down and also to stop bickering a few times before.
Good information here. I find my biggest problem to be the double-peek issue you stated in the video. Once I commit to an engagement, I can't bring myself to do the smart thing and give up, usually leading me to get popped in the head by 1KYS. Always something to improve on, I guess.
That don't tell your teammates how you died, do call outs instead it's more important, is the same thing I tell my teammates when they die bro, I'm just glad someone else sees what I be seeing, definitely liked this video. Good stuff
It's basically all about how much you played. The more you played, the more you will be skilled. Skills are learned from playing and these skills will make you play better.
Awesome info sir! I do feel like cause of death is important for team response though. Killed by snipper vs killed by shotgunner means a different response for each as far as how/when to engage/revive to me. Will definitely be schooling my clan with this video though.
These are actually great tips. I watched just for shits and giggles but I am impressed. I knew all this stuff already because I have a competitive background, but still good to hear these things as a refresher.
I'll admit i started off in crucible as a noob trying hard to snipe, didnt know what's a good load out... (psst my KD was always negative) but then i realised i got sniped.... a lot... and decided to learn and bumped into your channel, i gotta say man THANK YOU and pretty much enjoying destiny. Im pretty much on top of the score board most of the time nowadays. PS thorn is still a bitch but I sometimes able to take them down with last word
+True Vanguard , unrelated but I saw your video on Belicose yesterday and got mine out of the vault. As much fun as it is sniping, it's more fun with my maxed stability Baron's Ambition! Thanks!
Ye true vanguard you improved my game a lot my kd went from 0.7 to 1.0 and I hv gone unbroken got over 10 phantoms and frequently go on 10 kill streaks thx to your tips from your vids
Hey, True, check out the Gozen-C sniper rifle. I'm not sure if you can get it anywhere other than the first couple missions when you first make a character. I've found it's a powerhouse in the crucible even if it only has an attack level of 40.
+Henry Jarnigan I stopped playing Destiny at the height of the Thorn/ TLW era for a month until they were nerfed, so you can imagine what I think of those fuckers suddenly making a major comeback on top of the skill-based matchmaking sweaty lagfest.
i find plan c to be super reliable against shot gun rushers. Because with the last perk when you with from your primary to the plan c, you fire it almost instantly.
Can you do a video on explaining why to challenge with a secondary when you're weak and why you shouldn't challenge with a primary? Or which one you should use when weak and getting pushed?
+seth abraham criticism is welcome, just don't be lazy about it. if you're going to take the time to comment, then take the time to write something thoughtful and insightful. Coy statements like that don't offer anything of value. If you want to make a point about the Last Word, I'm all ears.
True Vanguard no need to get defensive just saying that last word is the sweatiest gun in the game. if youre going to say "sweaty opponent" it would make sense to not use the last word
+seth abraham Well when your going against people who are using guns like Last Word and Thorn, you pretty much have to combat that with those guns. Besides, Last Word really isn't that good of a gun that it'd be considered "sweaty" or "try-hard" to use, pretty much when its only paired with things like lots of fire bolts. But as +True Vanguard has said before, Last Word is a slot machine. You might get a really fast kill, a normal speed kill, or not a kill at all (like at 6:30 in the vid). But the only reason Last Word is considered "sweaty" is because it is used a lot and it can be effective in most maps in rotation atm. And before you say that I'm just defending Last Word because I use it, I'll let you know that I usually don't touch Last Word and mostly roll with First Curse (because First Curse is super OP if used correctly).
I gave up on trying to go flawless this week... I want a doctrine but dealing with teams that camp all round extending the games to about 20 or so minutes then sniping all the way back in spawn when they get special ruins it for me. Special ammo has made players who rely on special pull even shittier tactics.
My Thesan FR4 isn't even a total god roll but its soooo consistent. If you point it and shoot it, you'll hit all of your shots.fusions just need some stability... Nice vid.
Even if the guy is firebolted it is always good to make sure he is dead sometimes even if your teammate sais leave him if you have the shot take it. He could shotgun you if your close or if you are playing a good sniper he could trade with you with some nasty quick scope. Also you get 50 assist points which is a lot but the game doesn't show assist no more
I recently thought of a question you help with: how to tell lagging players running around like the flash from players with high agility, and how to handle one-on-one engagements with different agility builds?
I was playing my ninth game and someone was using a fusion rifle on the other team! As far as I could tell it was the gunsmith one, it had insanely fast charge rate. Since his whole team was running shottys the fusion rifle guy left us absolute for his buddys to clean us up. But other than this experience I dont see it being used competitivley.
I notice you love your last word. Do you hold the trigger down for full panic mode or do you press it for each shot, giving yourself a small amount of time to re-aim??
I actually started to get bored of good weapons such as thorn, the last word, mida,, part crasher, 1000 yard etch. I actually started playing with the suros regime. And i could not believe how this thing works. It's absolutely sick. And im still looking for these kind of weapons. you know. Weapons that not a lot of people use. You will feel unique when using it. And i use a sidearm as a secondary. I dont when is the last time i used a heavy. I only use use it to increase my light. Not because its bad, but my primary, the suros regime, is so good. (Excuse me for grammar mistakes. English is not my mother language).
+Melissa Guth yup nd you don't have to wait for heavy because it always have some heavy rounds in reserve 😂 nd thorn is just a amazing auto rifle sniper hybrid 😂
How about a guide on how to counter people using Ice Breaker early to get a full mag of normal sniper ammo in trials please? I've gotten about 80 matches of these guys, lost like 20 flawless runs cuz of those people.
👍 Keep being awesome
what snipers do you tend to use? Pls reply! Thx
+Tristin Miller he won't reply to a comment on an old vid.(probably)
+Tristin Miller I like the defiance, antinomy, benevolence, and efrideets spear
Hahha
True - you changed us from Average players who raged frequently into slightly above average players who understand their mistakes. Thank you!
To clarify, when I say "Don't talk about how you died," Im talking raging like most players do. "What a freaking noob, double bodied me like a scrub, didn't even deserve the kill. Why did I double peek, I shouldn't have even challenged that." That's not a callout.
I know this has nothing to do with anything, but what capture card do you use?
It is going to hard to get out of the habit
+True Vanguard I play solo so much, that this is automatic. I'm constantly bitching. It's just what Destiny brings out of me.
You're absolutely correct in saying it's a tough habit to break. Especially difficult if you're trying not to call out the fact you just got double bodied by a sniper through 16ft of concrete!
I always say this: ex, I get shotgunned, so I say shotgun on my res. Is that a callout or not? Or is this a callout as well: Sniper camping on my res.
This is one of the directly helpful videos I've seen from you TrueVanguard--a lot of tangible, specific advice that will make any 3 person team better regardless of their opponents.
Thank you for this incredible resource; I've shared it with my clan to offer them tips in playing more 3v3.
Solid advice across the board... its fun hearing what a more relaxed gamer is thinking while going thru these competitive bouts.
Keep these vids up +TrueVanguard. I really enjoy just listening to you explain yourself. That honestly has helped me become a better pvper. I enjoy how the advice is more tactical and not just tips to outgun your opponent. Thanks a lot!

really solid advice, thanks for making this video, this is really good fundamentals to remember for some of us just getting started in Trials.
First thing I thought when I saw this title: I can always rely on True Vanguard to hit me up with the guides I need. LETS GOOO TV U DA BEST FAM THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
Love your vids, this actually helps a lot because i was not even aware of some of the things i do like this, kinda like with your vid on using NLB, i never noticed i flicked my aim up till you said. just wanted to say Awesome vid, loving the channel and glad I subbed, I'm always trying to up my crucible game and this type of content is perfect to help me progress. thanks for sharing.
These tips really help out dude, keep up the awesome content!
Great video! Thanks for putting it so eloquently, been trying to explain these points to my clan mates
Can I just give a basic tip that lots of people forget, the weapon you use most.... GET SOME RELOAD GAUNTLETS FOR THAT WEAPON .thanks, it's just the fact that a faster reload could be the difference between loosing or winning an engagement
Losing
This video just put 3 more months of playtime on destiny for me. Thanks for inspiring me to keep going this was really helpful.
TV been watching lots of your older vids out of nostalgia and wow... great stuff! Hope you are back to making vids in D2! :)
Love your vids man, you deserve more subs! :)
Yea, your channel is under appreciated
Some these tips seem so self-evident. But keeping a clear head and playing logically can be easier said then done once the bullets start flying and the pulse starts racing.
this is some super good advice I bet the people u use these on won't get the last word but remember playing against this type of people requires patience and time and always a plan c,except for if ur the kind of person with no backup plans
Man I improved because of this, you're great man. I'm subbing.

Awesome advice....The best advice and lesson to learn till date. Thanks TV!
Really awesome tips and tricks! these videos are really educating.
It would be allot of fun to see you play with nightly and farnothlegend:)
take care
Her Ben is easily my favorite sniper. I rolled a Hidden Hand, Performance Bonus, Snapshot, Shortgaze on mine and use it for almost everything. :) I also just love the look to it. If I ever had the chance to use the Supremacy I'm sure I would love that too.

+True Vanguard ;) I had fun that game!

Good tips and video, and I like the way you treated opponents with respect and dished out GG's.
+1 sub for TV!
Hey TV, great video as always! Guess what, I finally got the Doctor of Passion from trials this weekend!
Doctor of passion 😂😂😂😂😂 this just made my day
You do en doctrine of passing right, right?
+Quidnunc wish i was good enough to get it lol
Lmfao
+ShoK v XD
Good information here. I find my biggest problem to be the double-peek issue you stated in the video. Once I commit to an engagement, I can't bring myself to do the smart thing and give up, usually leading me to get popped in the head by 1KYS.
Always something to improve on, I guess.
I've played with and against AstDroid. Great player and ultimately a positive influence on the team.
I'm glad you beat a felwinter thorn hub team.
That don't tell your teammates how you died, do call outs instead it's more important, is the same thing I tell my teammates when they die bro, I'm just glad someone else sees what I be seeing, definitely liked this video. Good stuff
vanguard you are amazing. glad you beat them. you are the best utuber around wish i could do trials with you.
Everyone who plays 3v3 should watch this video! Best advice you could ever hope for!

Diegodep2000 is my friend. He's pretty decent. Awesome job!
These are actually great tips. I watched just for shits and giggles but I am impressed. I knew all this stuff already because I have a competitive background, but still good to hear these things as a refresher.
thanks for the video, it makes sense how me and my casual playing buddies get wiped out by players. also thanks for the tips .
"Don't primarily rely on ur sniper " how times have changed
I'll admit i started off in crucible as a noob trying hard to snipe, didnt know what's a good load out... (psst my KD was always negative) but then i realised i got sniped.... a lot... and decided to learn and bumped into your channel, i gotta say man THANK YOU and pretty much enjoying destiny. Love running the NLB and hot swap fusion combo.
I use fusion rifle in crucible. People seem to be used to sniper play and have forgotten how to defend against cqc offence ;D
I like your content you deserve many subs
"...and we will catch you in the crucible."
Ha, I hope not...
THANKS SO MUCH! MOST PEOPLE I PLAY AGAINST FLOOD THE MATCH WITH SWEAT!
First time i see true vanguard playing with warlock subclass
Hey, True, check out the Gozen-C sniper rifle. I'm not sure if you can get it anywhere other than the first couple missions when you first make a character. I've found it's a powerhouse in the crucible even if it only has an attack level of 40.
I never thought I'd have to say this, but they need to nerf thorn more.
Agreed
So true! The Last Word as well
I'd say nerf The Last Word again. I'd much rather be killed by a Thorn.
+Chris R We don't need to nerf everything that's good. There is literally no reason to use TLW if its not as good as it is.
+Henry Jarnigan I stopped playing Destiny at the height of the Thorn/ TLW era for a month until they were nerfed, so you can imagine what I think of those fuckers suddenly making a major comeback on top of the skill-based matchmaking sweaty lagfest.
This is some super good advice.

Great video Vanguard but can we hear Live com from a few of these type of games. I would like to hear the call outs and team communication
Wow TrueVanguard a montage song Follow the hollow HAHAHAHA nice one man!!
thanks for the tips! i really enjoyed the video!
Title should be "A way to make you feel bad", lol, ur amazing, would love to play with you.
Can you do a video on explaining why to challenge with a secondary when you're weak and why you shouldn't challenge with a primary? Or which one you should use when weak and getting pushed?
"playing smart against sweaty opponents" has the last word
+seth abraham criticism is welcome, just don't be lazy about it. if you're going to take the time to comment, then take the time to write something thoughtful and insightful. Coy statements like that don't offer anything of value. If you want to make a point about the Last Word, I'm all ears.

Truee.
Yeah i think trials is a lot worse now
I found rusted lands pretty easy to rush on. Try pushing through B hard and fast. I rarely challenge the water tower side of the map.
+Deo Rantus doctrine is up this week friday as reward for the 7th win. it is within reach sir
+Lee Ugo How do you find out what the upcoming rewards are going to be?
Rip my ears haha that opening music killed me
Nice videos man. Keep it up!
Nice video man, very good advice
love yoir vids man you are awesome and make me now that pvp legends are here
Every1 watch mr fruit he is amazing and funny when playing destiny
+Max Olszowski i am sub of mr fruit since he had 10,000 subs
I recently got a dead orbit fusion I would love to use that has super high stability and 100% impact. But of course I haven't used it outside of PVE
3:50 Reminds me of how I got engaged before waiting for more green, but it worked out anyway :)
My Thesan FR4 isn't even a total god roll but its soooo consistent. If you point it and shoot it, you'll hit all of your shots.fusions just need some stability... Nice vid.
There is no place for a primary with burn damage in competitive play..
ik it's so bad
Amen to that!
amen!!
Amen brotha!
+CHEDDScast It's okay... Nobody uses primary weapons in this game anyway lol.
As always great vid, thanks!!
Even if the guy is firebolted it is always good to make sure he is dead sometimes even if your teammate sais leave him if you have the shot take it. He could shotgun you if your close or if you are playing a good sniper he could trade with you with some nasty quick scope. I recently thought of a question you help with: how to tell lagging players running around like the flash from players with high agility, and how to handle one-on-one engagements with different agility builds?
TV, can you please make a video on how to counter something like 3 striker titans or 3 sunsingers?
I was playing my ninth game and someone was using a fusion rifle on the other team! As far as I could tell it was the gunsmith one, it had insanely fast charge rate. Since his whole team was running shottys the fusion rifle guy left us absolute for his buddys to clean us up. But other than this experience I dont see it being used competitivley.
Hey TV have any thoughts on Bungie adding doubles and 1v1 playlists to trials to give players more options for getting to the lighthouse?
I love the fact that you use a fusion rifle for trials I use telesto and doom of celchis hard mode scout
+True Vanguard how do you feel about you take a snipe miss, fall back into cover, then shadestep out of cover to try to take another shot?
loving this video
What's the song at the beginning, looking for some good montage music.
I ran my phanta rhei in trials with rangefinder and it did work, but I can't wait to get that god roll thesan fr4
I notice you love your last word. Do you hold the trigger down for full panic mode or do you press it for each shot, giving yourself a small amount of time to re-aim??
Tue vanguard what is the sniper your using called pls tell me asap
I actually started to get bored of good weapons such as thorn, the last word, mida,, part crasher, 1000 yard etch. I actually started playing with the suros regime. And i could not believe how this thing works. It's absolutely sick. And im still looking for these kind of weapons. you know. Weapons that not a lot of people use. You will feel unique when using it. And i use a sidearm as a secondary. I dont when is the last time i used a heavy. I only use use it to increase my light. Not because its bad, but my primary, the suros regime, is so good. (Excuse me for grammar mistakes. English is not my mother language).
awesome content man!
I actually know these guys! And they are really good haha, Goodjob guys!
Hey could you link us to the song/band in your intro?
TV what do u think about the SLR10 scope? I've currently started to use it and was great wanna know what u think
Best you tuber ever
Love that intro! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
last word is a great scout rifle nd conspiracy theory is a amazing sniper rifle 😒
The last whore is a water gun at longer ranges.
+Mario Mendoza And 1000 yard stare is a great primary weapon.
+G.E. it sure is nd stillpiercer is one of the best primaries in the game and the havol pigeon is a great auto rifle
+Mario Mendoza Doctrine of passing is a great heavy machine gun LOL
+Melissa Guth yup nd you don't have to wait for heavy because it always have some heavy rounds in reserve 😂 nd thorn is just a amazing auto rifle sniper hybrid 😂
Mcdeagles...who did I see him doing trials with this weekend?
Does anyone know what song is this in the video's opening?
dude love your video man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mommy I'm in a truevanguard's video (ANWAR__RAWNA) gg man.. It was fun
How about a guide on how to counter people using Ice Breaker early to get a full mag of normal sniper ammo in trials please?
I've gotten about 80 matches of these guys, lost like 20 flawless runs cuz of those people.
TrueVanguard:ahhh i got headshot by kjhovey
How far do you sit from the screen? For me it really matters where I sit but I can't always get the right distance.
