  • We took the new Seat Arona up to Edinburgh for the Genesis Scottish Open! It's nifty and agile - especially on a back road - and does well in the city.
The model we have here is the FR Sport, and it's powered by a 1L TSI Petrol engine, coupled to a six speed manual gearbox.
There are eight trims in the range to choose from:
SE from £20,960.00 on the road
SE Edition from £21,910.00 on the road
SE Technology from £21,960.00 on the road
FR from £24,375.00 on the road
FR Edition from £24,540.00 on the road
FR Sport from £25,465.00 on the road
Xperience from £25,095.00 on the road
Xperience Lux from £26,655.00 on the road

What do you think of the new Seat Arona FR Sport? Can you see yourself in one? Annabelle

Nice looking car, currently stuck on whether to go for FR Sport of this or the Kia Stonic GT line S. Can't make a decision. 😓

That’s a tough one, both great engines - good luck 😀

@@PlanetautoUK I'm really liking the look and feel of the Seat Arona when I test drove it (feels more premium and solid), but the mild hybrid battery and few extra technologies in the Kia make it hard to decide.

      @PlanetautoUK  Год назад +1

Yes, the Stonic hasn’t quite caught up with the build quality of the newer Kia models, mind you they both launched around the same time. I honestly don’t know which one I’d choose.

@@PlanetautoUK And this is why I'm still stuck, I've watched so many car reviews for both cars and still ain't any closer. 🤣

I have a 2018 Seat 1.0 tsi, automatic. What I can say after a year of usage is that the engine is absolutely beautiful, haven't had a single problem with it and I personally always keep it in semi manual shift and personally like to get to around 4-5k rpm before switching gears. However a couple of issues I've seen/heard about is the quality of the dashboard, it seems to wear down quite a bit over time, furthermore the actual build quality of the front is very similar to Tesla, in the sense that it will keep you safe... Yet a single head on collision will completely ruin the car due to it's soft and absorbent properties. Overall, great car, spacious, a bit pricey, spectacular engine with ridiculous power considering it's 1.0l capacity with 115 horse power. Just make sure you don't crash!

Sounds superb, a lot of cars are now built to be written off in a low speed head on/ pedestrian collision, good to see you’re enjoying it. Drive safely and thank you Robert.

Overpriced, in my opinion. Too much hard plastic and lack of features against say, a Peugeot 208.

VWG are always a bit pricier also many people looking at small crossovers, Bayon etc are happy with the spec, shame there’s no Cupra that would sort it, thank you Jim

HI Aras - The consensus is around the 40mpg mark for moderate city driving, but it's easy to get it above that. We were getting between 42 and 45 mpg on our road trip, and that was with Ben driving (and his lead foot, lol) Hope this helps. *A

@@PlanetautoUK Well we tried a SX-4 S-Cross and Vitara last week and found the former a bit 'uninvolved' vs the Vitara. Haven't had a chance to try an Arona or Ateca yet. I don't like a suspension to be too hard or bouncy (Honda HRV bounced us all over the place), but found the Vitara to be okay in that regard (seats were better in the S-Cross though). I do like to feel what the car is doing.
