I think she gets so much hate exactly because of her being pushed so hard. Nickelodeon shoved her down our throats as being the star. They did her dirty though, her career could've taken off if it wasn't for them forcing to stay with their children demographic and giving her this generic song. You can just look at Ariana's debut "The Way", she gave herself a new mature and "sexy" perspective.

I've heard people argue that Halsey's music sounds like generic pop songs and I do kind of agree but she's still a pretty big deal, or at least bigger than Victoria. Even if it is mediocre, that doesn't mean it isn't catchy or good. She can definitely do better and it did seem a little young for her to be doing but that doesn't mean she can't make better music or that she has to make that for the rest of her career. Disney stars made juvenile music that was still really good and I think as long as the music matures as they do then there isn't any reason why she shouldn't have more attention. If she ever decided to make more music I think she could definitely do it as long as it was a little more mature and better advertised. As for this song, I actually really like it for what it is and I wish it had done better so she could've had more chances to find her own sound

It's like hating he actor irl that played a murderer in a show. I actually really enjoyed this song, this is what people listened to during that time. Yeah it's generic, but it's good. If she comes out with something hella unique she could be huge. But the whole idea that she can't sing is bs. Also the idea that she hasn't gone anywhere. She's a model and actress rn. It's kinda like Bridget mendler who tried the whole singing thing. Yeah, it didn't work out, but she's still doing stuff.
Exactly. People forget that she was only a young girl with high aspirations who relied on other people to make her go big, its not like she could have released a single on her own. The producers/songwriters should haven widen her audience a bit. This just sounds like another victorious song and she had so much potential

I never understood why Victoria was given so much negativity for wanting to go on a solo tour. She had been with Nickelodeon ever since she was 12 from Zoey 101. If she wanted to leave and explore a different part of her life than she should be able to. I wish Victoria a successful journey. ^_^

From what I understand is that she wanted to go on a solo tour. Instead of with the rest of the cast it was a tradition and the show was cancelled so that's why she was hated on. Also supposedly she's the one that bullied Ariana on victorious.
Jessey Booker nick didn't cancel sam & cat. both ariana and jennette were tied of playing their same characters. jennette even confirmed it saying they were contracted to do the first season but after that neither wanted to resign the contracts because they didn't want to play those characters anymore
