How lucky am I not only to be able to experience Nancy's music, but to know her, love her and have her in my life and grow wealthy from her spiritual graces which shine so brightly through her music... blv
I was an early FM Rock DJ in Tampa, Florida who played the heck out of the first Sweetwater album I heard. NANCY NEVINS was the BABE: ethereal, crystalline clear, jazzy, sexy, souful, perfect for the Sweetwater fusion sound. I saw Nancy live wile seated on one side of the stage. She was phenomenal live. I WANTED her, body and soul. I played hundreds and hundreds of famous groups on my shows but I kept waiting for more from Nancy! What a pity I never quite got my fix! Love the second song Nancy!
Just came across this. When I first heard her, it was Motherless Child, 1969. I moved in with a small commune in Pennsylvania, 1st time I stepped into the house, Motherless Child was playing; it's 2022 now, and one of my favorite songs is Sweetwater's version and her beautiful voice.
I was fortunate to find out about Nanci's through the tv movie .. I thinks she's just a diamond. I love that second song .. Nanci sings with her spirit and charm. I hope she does a London gig .. come on Nanci some us were to young to experience those times. hope god blesses you the rest of way !
I never heard of Sweetwater until I saw the movie I think Amy Jo Johnson did a fabulous job portraying Nancy Nivans the Real Nancy Nivans is a very talented lady love their music
I have this dvd here called "The Essential History of the Blues" and in the end, when the narrator is talking about the blues legacy ["such as Beatles, The Rolling Stones and the Woodstock generation"], a rare glance of Sweetwater in Woodstock stage. She was so beautiful. And she still is. Nancy I love you!
I just recently started checking out Sweetwater's beautiful music- Wow!!! This video is so organic and down home. Nancy Nevins sings with so much heart!!! Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with the world💛😀💚
She sounds great... she's learned how to make lemonade out of lemons (I mean that with the most respect). She's learned to use the "rasp" to it's full potential. Rock on!
Both songs seem so personal to her at least that is what I got from listening to them. To me she is truly a bard. A storyteller/poet and musician all rolled into one. Thank You for sharing this video.
Enjoying this video... Most excellent. Thanx for sharing... Good to see your still playing. I just got done watching the Sweetwater movie on this fantastic Sunday...
I remember seeing the Sweetwater movie on VH1 20 years ago. Amazing she was told she'd never sing again....well she certainly can sing and pretty wonderfully at that.
I have not found THE Motherless Child by Sweetwater with Nancy Nevins singing. The one they have here is by the actress who played her in the movie. Please notify us if the REAL Motherless Child in on RUclips.
Dear Nanci (Isn't that the way you spell your name) It is soooo good to see you and hear you sing again. We all miss you!! I personaly have burned the copy of the videotape from the HBO movie, brillianty played by Amy Jo. Your story moved me beyond words. We need you to come back soon PLEASE!! Because you sound fantastic!! And thank you deenashee for this wonderful video!! Peace.
I saw you at woodstock. your fault, I am a singer loll. well, my mom was a singer too, so I think that may be more of the reason, but she died before seeing me become. in any case, thank you of your gifts, I celebrate it every day
@CADIEUXGR: I actually meant it in a good way. Nancy has a great voice and so does Ann, but I'm not comparing the two. I'm also a Heart fan as much as I enjoy listening to Rock, especially with female rock musicians, and yes I do believe Nancy Nevins should definitely make a comeback. I was really inspired by her story.
