The Old Horseshoe Pass round World's End is nice single track, lucky to get up to 40mph on it. The trick with Llandudno is to head up the hill to the top of the Great Orme and down the hairpins to continue round the head. The toll road is only a very short section.
It’s a while since I’ve visited the Ponderosa, I may well make the effort to call in this month and pay the area a much deserved visit. I know you mentioned the average speed cameras and the reduced speed of 40mph, that does seem very slow for the road considering the location and lack of residential properties and other immediate hazards etc. Speed isn’t necessarily the direct reason people have mishaps on that road it’s more their attitude either in general or whilst riding at speed that causes crashes. And the Sportsman’s Arms which you passed, the highest pub in Wales. I recall visiting it during a challenge I was involved in to visit the highest pub in England, Wales & Scotland in a day. 👍

Another nice ride along, thanks for sharing... *Speed cameras suck BIG time... I've sat the speed awareness course so next time its points and a fine. I've had a week of 20mph speed limit in central London with cameras everywhere... *It's always nice to give a wave or a nod to fellow bikers, usually get one back around here...
