I fully agree with you hun. A lot of those people we try and pass for are living a life they hate wishing they had the courage to do what they are really passionate about. No one escapes the fear of not fitting in. Plenty of accountants or lawyers or doctors that wish they were authors or actors or social workers though had to do what was expected of them by society. If we were inside the eye of the observer we would realise that they aren't judging us because we look different - they are envious of us because we are authentic. We have to be the change we want to see in the world. Being trans can be a blessing or a curse, it is entirely up to the individual. It's not easy being authentic though being false comes with a lot of extra dead cats that I refuse to carry around for someone else. In 100 years from now we will all be dust in the wind. No one gets out of life alive. Live it, be true and do harm to none. Your courage gives me courage. Thank you. xo

LOVE your thoughts. I would only change my appearance for myself, but I agree that we need to LOVE OURSELVES first and foremost, regardless how we appear, or any other aspect of our identities. I WOULD like to pass, but for me, not for society. Blessings to you.

We changing our self to look better to survive or to feel accepted ..

I have watched countless transition videos and you are by far the most helpful in terms of breaking down the barriers of society and how conforming seems to dictate how we feel we should look based on what people expert as apposed to them accepting who we are...I like to be fluid and I don't think there is a spectrum complex enough to label what I am at any one time...the biggest issue some people face (at least here in the UK) is that in order to receive HRT treatment on the NHS, it takes about 2 years and they want to see evidence that you have come out socially to friends family work etc...as if we are expected to dress as how society perceives a stereo typical "female"...anyway, I love your honesty in your videos and hope you continue to make more! x

    Dear @Corey Bilous ,
I want to thank you for bringing attention these points for all to notice and realizing what does it mean to be happy. Like you said, if we do too much then it wouldn't work out what we desire the most. That's why there are big things that always comes in small packages. Keep up the excellent work and do what makes you happy.
    Thank you and take care

I for one and many other girls feel just like you do. We're not alone and have each other to help with
our journey. One other girl noted that you just don't get there overnight. It's a life time journey.
Which is great because every morning when I wake up, I know I'm just a little bit closer to my real self.
You are so beautiful. I doubt you will ever need a surgery.
Thank you so much for this enlightening video.

Thank-you for your thought provoking words, Corey. I cannot think of anything that you said that I would disagree with strongly. I would like to add the thought that perhaps we could try to look back at any ignorance in the world around us, with a compassion which is often absent in its perception of us. Understandably, this will always be a struggle.
Love and Peace to you all. M xXx

Happy to see you have a new outlook on life. I’ve felt the same way about myself for awhile now because of James and you. You guys help me accept myself for who I wanted to be.
I like to be honest with others and myself(I find it easier to get to the chase that way)...I know I’ll never pass as a real female, but that’s not a bad thing because of James and you I’ve learned to walk on the gray line of life....not just a man and not just a woman..but something else...myself and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you and glad to see a new video keep up the awesome work. 🤗

So true. Great video. I have a rule that I'm not allowed to change anything about myself if it's coming from a place of shame. I'm lucky that my dysphoria isn't strong enough to be completely debilitating so I can do this. I know others can't. My transition has been slower because of this but each change has been because I wanted it for myself rather than for someone else and that journey has felt a lot stronger in the long run for me.

  • @michaelharris785
    @michaelharris785 5 лет назад

Yes!! Thanks for the courage to say what's on your mind and heart, Corey.
I believe the point you're trying to get across about if we're trying to put so much emphasis on trying to fit into the "perfect feminine mold" of sorts, then it's like throwing off one form of stereotyping for another. And though, I won't necessarily call myself trans, I have and still go through a lot of gender dysphoria, and it's a great weight for me - for myself at least - to try to put off things & characteristics of my body that's male, and trying to changing myself to be more feminine in all of these stereo typical ways. And when I do that, I find that I put so much pressure and weight on myself to achieve a certain level of traditional view of femininity/womanhood.
    Great job Corey!

I can totally relate to what you're saying and it's been on my mind lately. After reading Sissy, by Jacob Tobia, I felt really motivated to not do some of the things I think I've been socialized to think I would "need" to do. I got excited to break gender norms and show people that we can exist in whatever form truly makes us feel happy and whole. Thanks for sharing! Love you and your content!

I understand exactly what you're saying and I am totally riveted to this conversation. I'm so glad you're saying these things. I'm someone who struggles with a sort of blah level of dysphoria and I think I might be genderfluid as well or at least genderqueer or whatever. I'm just so confused and it's really helpful to hear your perspective on this stuff. Self-love, acceptance, taking steps for the right reasons, not feeding the machine that is just chewing us up...thank you!

I definitely get where you are coming from. I stayed in the closet for a very long time, so I spent a lot of time trying to force myself to present a certain way in order to blend in. When I first came out, I overcorrected and tried to be a lot more femme than I wanted to be because I felt I had to sort of fit in with traditional feminine styles. Lot of skirts and dresses. But then I realized that I'm more comfortable being femme but also a little bit masculine, and if I don't allow myself to express that as well, then fundamentally its no different than when I was suppressing all my feminine side as a guy. If I was to ever reach true self love, I had to be able to express myself completely.

I don't pluck the face. I did, in combination with laser, and I found that if you don't, then the beard doesn't grow back nearly as much. Like, a hair here and there. But if I pluck, it comes back in patches. It takes a while for the beard to get to the point where it's just 5 hairs here and there, but, if you don't pluck, it'll stay that way between treatments.

The illness you speak of regarding implants is for textured implants. We must be clear about what is happening, the textured implants were highly favored bc the textured surface would latch on to the flesh and keep the implants in place better. you wouldn't get those ripples or pulling after a while. Unfortunately the textured surface brought its own downside to the equation.

On of my absolute highest wishes is that no little kids in the future must to go throu that phase where adult people expect them to be magically transformed into something else then they are, and blaming them as standing out as "anomalies". (i know that from my own experience too, but i try not to be bitter or think to much about it now it only drags one self down doing so i think, one need to proceed forward, but still i hope the general mindset will change among people one day so other kids does not need to go throu that).

    Hi Corey
I am an Aussie transgender. I know actually what you are talking about but the problem is, as much as I try to accept who I am I still want to be more female or born female. We as transgender humans will always want to be what we aren't because we are just simply born in the wrong body and are biologically the wrong gender. I don't know any transgender person who accepts what they are.
Just my thoughts great to see you back and your videos with Dave.

I would like to thank you for your perspective and your self awareness for your personal transition.
I disagree with respect to any surgical enhancements that one would like for self. For example: Unlike you, I identify as trans feminine. Not a trans woman. For my own perspective and self awareness, I am already happy and beautiful within myself. And, I am blessed that I have the opportunity to enhance myself in anyway I connect with. This adds to my own personal way of physical expression. My esthetic is different. Will I look or act like anyone else?....no thank you. Will I enhance my esthetic similarly to others? Possibly....because that is what I connect with. To say don’t make changes with surgeries because it’s what society wants or dictates, restricts self expression. How about....your message and approach for your own journey is to refrain from surgical procedures to enhance your external appearance and that you support others who choose to do so.
Notice, you still wear makeup, lighten your hair, select feminine clothing, manicure your nails and skin. All of those actions are exactly what society has dictated is necessary to be feminine “passable”. There are layers to self expression. There are layers to transitioning. All are different....and all are beautiful. Let’s just support, encourage and appreciate. I apologize if I come across offensive or upset you in anyway. I am just expressing one perspective of a sea full of many perspectives.
You are beautiful however you want to present, express or enhance. Congrats on your journey of transitioning. I enjoy your videos very much.
    Hugs,
    -V

As a visibly male trans woman, no, I have not even gotten to visibly trans, even though what you say is mathematically correct, I find that only people who are visibly beautiful, perfectly cis privileged, are really able to say it. It’s like a white person asking black people what they are complaining about.
