I was very impressed by Air, Land & Sea. It's incredible how deep it feels with *so few* cards. I obtained the original version because that's the art I prefer. :)
Skull is always a fun go to for both my gaming group and family... we have also made a copy out of beer coasters many times at a pub restaurants for after dinner fun! Welcome to is another favourite...
My group likes Fort, Set a Watch, Lovecraft letter, Coup, The Crew, The Lost Legacy games, Tiny Epic Dungeons, One Deck Dungeon and Bang! The Dice Game. So I usually carry one of these in my bag along with emergency copies at every house.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the big Zombicide box sitting there was that it would be cool to see how many little games would fit inside it, and then you did it... :)
Great list. Nice to see small games getting some attention. One night note: One Night Werewolf plays 3-10 players. I have over 30 plays and don’t think I’ve ever tried it with fewer than 6.
Have you tried Lux Aeterna? It's a small box game and I just took it to Europe with me. It's great, though it's only a 1 player game. Hanabi is also another great one to think about, though it's the opposite and not a 1 player.
I've been building a collection of games that fit into an ultra pro deck box. Definitely some potential additions here. I also really like For Sale Travel, Sushi Go (classic), Hanabi, Silver and Gold (with smaller markers), Bang! Dice, Point Salad, and Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies. Slightly too big but still good: Not Alone and Archeology. And Button Shy's In Vino Morte is great!
Here are some of my favorite small box games: Arboretum, The Crew, Jaipur (yes you need a breezy, casual game to play sometimes), Battle Line, Air Land and Sea, Fleet: The Dice Game.
great collection but there’s one game I’m suprised is missing. It’s a perfect end of the night game that always gets just one more play often leading to later nights then planed. simple but elegant design. For$ale
The Friday app is remarkably addictive. In the physical game, I might forget that I'm in green, yellow or red level. The app takes care of everything for you - especially the tedious shuffling.
@@BoardGameCo I have Scythe and Root on my phone. Besides being objectively better games than Friday, I don't play those anywhere near as often as I do Friday. Oh, and for some reason, it's under its original German name Freitag in the Google Play store.
Have you played Mottaini? Another Chudyk game, one with a lot of crazy combos and trying to benefit from the opportunities your opponent gives you. One of my favourite small games
Top 10, Small(er) Box, 2+ Player Games our group likes: Boggle Car Wars: The Card Game Codenames Electronic Catch Phrase Forbidden Island Grab Your Goat Mille Bornes Uno Waterworks Zombie Dice
I've played Land, Air, and Sea a ton with my Boss at lunch. I brought the Critters version to work to show off the new art. He said, "get this baby trash out of here...how dare you offend me!" Haha...so good. I guess it's not for everyone.
I can't believe none of the tiny epic games ended up in this video, and I do agree fantasy realms should have also been on the list. Seamed like some obscure games.....with the exception of the crew, one night, and love letter
I would choose "The Grizzled". The expansion fits in the original small box adding solo & 2 player and mission cards for up to 5. All player counts work for me. I will have to try Air, Land, & Sea.
My favourite small games not on your list: -Hanabi -Schotten Totten -Hive Pocket -Similo -Silver and Gold -Ohanami Absolutely love The Crew and Hanamikoji as well.
I like the list. Definitely going to have to check out hanamikoji. I'm curious. I'm pretty sure you said once that you prefer braverats to love letter. Why didn't that make the list?
I adore Braverats, and definitely prefer it to Love Letter...but I've played it to death. Easily 100 plays of it...eventually made it less fun just due to repition.
Mint Works, Mint Delivery and Mint Cooperative are good to varying degrees. Delivery and Coop I've played with my 6 year-old and she loves them. There's also Mint Bid (I'm not big on bidding) and Mint Control (Vasel didn't care for it). They KS Mint Mini in 2021 which has mechanics from all of their previous games.
Pax Transhumanity, Pax Renaissance (1st edition or a repacked 2nd edition without the board), BIOS: Genesis, Hanamikoji, Condotierre, and Race for the Galaxy (again, repacked in a small box/bag)
@@BoardGameCo I am unsure on it as well but the fact that they were able to capture a non-random skirmish experience with interesting phase system mechanics in an 18 card game blows me away. It's more along the lines of what I hope is to come rather than that I absolutely love it. I like it. But it gives me hope as a tactical card game lover, a la Summoner Wars (although I have so many problems with Summoner Wars' design). And I love small, quickish games that I can whip out and play. Now that I have kids it's hard to find the space and time to play big size games.
I really enjoy some the ones you mentioned but I agree with others that also said Fantasy Realms should be there. It works so well from 2 to 6 players.
I would add Hanabi to that group. Different enough from the games you put in that big box. Also if you want a good yet kind of dumb game that’s good for a lot of laughs, Paku Paku is really very fun.
I picked up Friday about 4 months ago, played it twice (lost both times, obviously, which is a good thing, solos should be hard), but my god did the game just come off as tedious to me. The card effects are just so bland..... sorry but no. And this touches on something that I'm feeling more and more strongly about: solo deck builders suck.
The only issue for me was the intro - why was Zombieside mentioned SO many times when it has zero relevance to this list. Maybe it refers to a previous video only regular viewers will get? Otherwise, it was great once it got going 👍🏼
This fella is 247 hyper. It's hard to follow your videos. Only managed to watch 2 of them. It is all over the place, plus you speak so fast for no reason. I am out.

Emergency gaming is always something to consider.
1. Innovation (third edition)
2. Pax Renaissance (first edition)
Small boxes, BIG games
Great list! But I’m sad that 7 wonder duel didn’t make it on your list, that’s my favourite 2 player small box!
Palm Island, Tussie Mussie, and Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies are some of my favorites.
Wow you explain so many games so well! Not just why you like and not you talked about mechanics and you're so seamless 😅
Thank you Felicia!
The first thing I thought of when I saw the big Zombicide box sitting there was that it would be cool to see how many little games would fit inside it, and then you did it... :)
Great list.
Red7 and Timebomb would fit nicely in it :)
Botanik is a nice one also. Quite a small box and really cool tile laying game. From the same designer as Jaipur I think, which I also like a lot.
Nice, I haven't played that one.
One Night Werewolf 14:22
was missing from your time stamps.
Three small games our group likes: Fantasy Realms, Citadels, and Fleet the Dice Game.
I’m a big fan of small games, Tiny Epic Galaxies, Mr. Jack-pocket, are two that deserve serious consideration.
I forgot 6 nimt
Great list. Nice to see small games getting some attention.

Nice. Just watched this. Very enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed 🙂

18:14 Nice, I own The Crew 2 and was wondering if the geek bits fit in the box to be able to play The Crew 1 without buying another box. Thanks!
Yep :-) I'll be going over more in a video on Friday.
I've been building a collection of games that fit into an ultra pro deck box. Definitely some potential additions here.

Slightly too big but still good: Not Alone and Archeology. And Button Shy's In Vino Morte is great!
Ohanimi and Enchanted Plumes are two truly snall box games that are fantastic 🙂
Enchanted Plumes does need a lot of table space, though!
Can’t wait for the button shy games review!
My friends and I love Salem 1692, Organ Attack, Skulls and Roses, Trash Pandas, Cat Lady, Arboretum and Coup.
Here are some of my favorite small box games: Arboretum, The Crew, Jaipur (yes you need a breezy, casual game to play sometimes), Battle Line, Air Land and Sea, Fleet: The Dice Game.
Gotta need to send you Orchard game too maybe... 😍🤣. Great video Alex!🙏😍
Love Orchard and can’t wait for the sequel. (Got my name on the box that time)
Oooh nice!😍🙏
Absolutely on my list to play...I backed the newest one :)
@@BoardGameCo Woooot!

I’ve played Friday probably 10 times now and still haven’t beat it! Incredibly satisfying nonetheless
Have you done a button shy video yet? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
Amazing list!!
The Friday app is remarkably addictive. In the physical game, I might forget that I'm in green, yellow or red level. The app takes care of everything for you - especially the tedious shuffling.

Love Letter Infinity Gauntlet is worth looking at given your love of Marvel. It refreshes the core game in a way that I find enjoyable.
I've played Land, Air, and Sea a ton with my Boss at lunch. I brought the Critters version to work to show off the new art. He said, "get this baby trash out of here...how dare you offend me!" Haha...so good. I guess it's not for everyone.

I only played the grizzled once, but sadly it didn't work for me.
My favourite small games not on your list:
-Hanabi
-Schotten Totten
-Hive Pocket

-Silver and Gold
-Ohanami
Absolutely love The Crew and Hanamikoji as well.
Silver and gold is fantastic, as is hive.
Age of Civilization is excellent as well.
Yes! I actually just played it recently :) Really solid small box game.
I like the list. Definitely going to have to check out hanamikoji.

No mint tin games?
I still enjoy Friday. I wonder what an expansion would look like.
Oh man, I can't imagine we would get one now.
None of the Mint tin games like Mint Works, Mint Delivery or Mint Cooperative?
Haven't actually played any of those surprisingly.
But do the small boxes fit when everything is sleeved? ;)
Very good recommendations, thanks a lot!
BTW, do you have a new game table?
Pax Transhumanity, Pax Renaissance (1st edition or a repacked 2nd edition without the board), BIOS: Genesis, Hanamikoji, Condotierre, and Race for the Galaxy (again, repacked in a small box/bag)
I just managed to get the Travel Zombicide. Not gonna lie; painting those travel minis is a pain haha.
Alex,
Would love to hear what your opinion is on a game like Tin Helm
If you haven’t already, you should definitely check out High Society, Jaipur and SushiGO when it comes to small box games.
All three are excellent, still own some of them.
You need to check out Battlecrest by Buttonshy.
I have, unsure on it still
@@BoardGameCo I am unsure on it as well but the fact that they were able to capture a non-random skirmish experience with interesting phase system mechanics in an 18 card game blows me away. The big box of Radlands actually includes the little box inside, no need to keep a seperate small box.
Innovation not being part of this list is a tragedy.
I really enjoy some the ones you mentioned but I agree with others that also said Fantasy Realms should be there. It works so well from 2 to 6 players.
I suggest Winterhaven Woods as a small box game.
Oh nice, I'll have to put it on my list.
Will your Button Shy video cover Ragemore and Pentaquark?
Yes on ragemore, have to double check on pentaquark
No love for Gloom? I have the Space version but keep thinking the original would make for some great stories as well.
You think Radlands Deluxe it worth the $60 price tag?
Also. Thanks for the Reecher suggestion. Just finished, worthwhile show for sure.
The playmats are very nice and really add to the ease of gameplay. So I would say so.
I would add Hanabi to that group. Different enough from the games you put in that big box. Also if you want a good yet kind of dumb game that’s good for a lot of laughs, Paku Paku is really very fun.
Draftosaurus
Tank Chess
Drakon
Cave Troll
Tally Ho!
Kingdoms (Reiner Knizia)
A Fistful of Meeples
High Risk
Dracarys Dice
Pax Renaissance ... superior tiny game
Love the idea of the video, but not being able to see the components of the games has me leaving just a few minutes into the list
I picked up Friday about 4 months ago, played it twice (lost both times, obviously, which is a good thing, solos should be hard), but my god did the game just come off as tedious to me. How much game does zombicide have would have been such a clickbaity title. I would have loved and hated it sooo much
Well, I made it to 5 minutes before I shut it down. All ramble no content.
Good job! Most people don't make it past the first two. I appreciate your perseverance!
The only issue for me was the intro - why was Zombieside mentioned SO many times when it has zero relevance to this list. Maybe it refers to a previous video only regular viewers will get?

Maybe, if you showed us the actual game instead of just the boxes, you'd get a like instead of a dislike.
