I just found your channel and I love this technique. you've done so much with a paper napkin. I look forward to seeing what you have for us in the future!
Hi! Thank you so much! I get my napkins from Vippies Designs however they do not ship outside the states. eBay has napkins that ship all over the world. 🙂- Joan
I LOVED that napkin that had the children on it and the santa. I have 5 grandchildren and there was 5 children on the napkin. I am going to try and find that napkin on the vippie website. Why did you decopodge the napkin to a piece of cardstock first before adding it to the sign? Couldn't you just paint the inside of the sign first? Does putting it on cardstock first somehow make it stronger?
Attaching the napkin to card-stock (using the iron-on method) removes the embossed edges, it’s well adhered and easy to fit into frame. I have several videos on my channel for this method and I put the links in the video description area. However you can try a different way, not every method works for everyone! That is a very cute napkin, I am one of five too! Merry Christmas! ❤️💚 - Joan
The ornament with the reverse decoupage did you do it the same way as the glass plate? Did you paint the back of the ornament as well? Couldn’t see a good picture of it.
Your projects are very attractive and your videos so informative. I will soon be teaching a holiday craft activity to a group that involves paper napkin decoupage onto glossy ceramic tiles for use as cold or hot drink coasters. I am struggling with what final sealant product would the most durable against moisture and heat. What sealer have you had the best experience with? Thanks!
Hi Eve! Decoupaged coasters are not really moisture resistant no matter what sealant. They will hold some condensation. I do all coasters for decor or flip them over and use the cork side. I have read that some crafters like clear high-heat engine spray you get at an auto supply store. Takes several weeks to cure before you can use them. Sounds like a fun project for your group! 🙂 Joan
