Hi, I trying everything to slow down the pour, ive got my grind on 7 and I'm tamping pretty hard. I'm not sure if its the beans or the machine but the longest pour I've had is about 20 seconds including the pre infusion. I had a sunbeam before the barista pro and i could get it perfect.
pour time is a function of dose, grind-size and tamping. Grind finer to start if you cannot grind finer for some reason you might need a better grinder. Also most grinders can be adjusted for finer/coarser grinders by taking off the top burr and adjusting a mechanism which acts like an offset, look in your manual for such a mechanism. Alternatively you can increase the dose by 1 or 2 grams which will significantly slow down your shot - definitely don't overdo this one. Tamping - just be consistent, this will have the least effect.
@@RatioOfOne I've had some success this week. I think its because this machine has a smaller but deeper portafilter so I had to pause the grind halfway and gently tamp, then top it up . Its the only i an able to achieve a more even and consistent pour.
What you could try is using beans just fresh out of the burner (which is too soo, you should wait a week) and grind them at the finest settings. If the pressure is all the way to the left and the flow isn't starting, you can start tweaking. First wait a week, then do a few consecutive runs, each time grinding a bit more coarse. Then you should be able to get it right. If this trick isn't working, then there's something wrong with your grinder (blades not sharp anymore, for example). Hope this helps, thanks @RatioOfOnefor your advice as well!
Great video, thank you for the effort. I have a question about the pressure gauge. With a lot of effort I finally produced a delicius shot. The flow seemed perfect, but the pressure needle was too high (almost topped out). What is your thought on this? Should I rely on the gauge or the visual inspection of the flow? With the needle in the "perfect" pressure position I always get a very fast pour, 20 seconds or less including preinfusion. My current settings (getting a good shot) are grind at 7 and dosing at around 2 o'clock-16,5 g, 5 s preinfusion, 30 seconds total time, yield about 50 g, while the needle indicating too high pressure. The beans are fresh.
I’m experiencing exactly what you are describing! I have the impression that in terms of extraction time any yield, the barista express works better towards the end of the pressure spectrum. Do others share this impression?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. For me it works best when the needle is right of the zone, just barely in the zone. When it goes beyond that the extraction takes too long and the coffee smells a bit burnt. Hope this helps!
exellents video, can you recomended it , setting for grinder and dose in my coffee, I have french dark roasted , but I try to make a decent espresso but is it almost imposible for me, any help? thank you, and aldo is hard to calibarte de automatic dose in my grinder almost all the time it dosen't give the right amount of coffee(ej.18 g )
Hi, I use the built-in grinder, set at about 10-14 grind size (depends on freshness) for about 20 grams of congee. I have no real problems with the built-in grinder and a few grams in difference won't do much in final result. You should use freshly roasted beans (1-4 weeks). What you could do is grind a the finest setting (device will probably overpressure) and work your way up from there until you start seeing results. If your beans aren't good it will run at the finest setting, but your coffee won't be that tasteful. You can work from coarser to finer, but that way it's harder to rule out the bean freshness. Hope this helps!
Thanks for pointing me to the bottomless portafilter holder for the Breville. I've been looking for one as well. That company should give you a commission or something. ;)
What a great video and awesome help. Now I know my grind is a little too coarse, that's why it comes out too early and too black, exactly as on the video showed!! Thank youu!!
Thank you so much for this amazing demonstration, may i ask was what was the grind size that you inputed and how many grams of coffee did you put in that port filter? Also did you use the 1:2 ratio? Or more thanks 🙏
I use fresh roasted coffee to be clear. My inner setting is 3 and wheel setting is 3 and I still have not so great results :/ with bottomless. But when I use regular portafilter with same basket, results are better, in term of taste and flow.
That's odd, as the bottemless portafilter is not different to a regular one, except for the sawed off bottom. Perhaps there is too much spraying around, which otherwise is contained in the regular portafilter?
Just got one of these bad boy, still couldn't find the right grind setup and amount. Put on no 2 and 19.8g but still pressure not at 12, pressure gauge probably around 10 o clock. Any suggestions 🤔
Hi when i use the naked portafilter the pressure gauge wont move up but when i used again the brevilled included portafilter the gauge hits the right setting. Why is this?
Hi, is it possible you are using the dual walled one? That's easier to use if you're starting and therefore gets the pressure up better. The portfilter itself doesn't do much in terms of pressure.
Hi, thanks! Wish I could make it myself :-) I got mine from Pullman Coffee in Australia. You can learn more about it in the companion article: www.letsgrindsomecoffee.com/bottomless-portafilter-for-breville-barista-express/
Hi, it's mentioned in the companion article, here you go: www.letsgrindsomecoffee.com/bottomless-portafilter-for-breville-barista-express/ Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi! In those extractions, did use the Breville built-in grinder? For example, in the perfect extraction, did you manage to get the chanelling away even with the Breville's grinder producing clumping powder? Thanks in advance
Hi! I am using the built-in grinder for the last few weeks almost exclusively, and I believe that was only the one powering the perfect extraction. But I can say I am having no problems with the grinder being clumpy, making perfect espressos very consistently. Are you experiencing problems with yours?
Hi! The Smart Grinder Pro is capable of producing fine grind as well, perhaps even better than the built-in grinder. There should be no need to poke :-) I watched your video, really wobbly indeed. Are you using fresh beans, no more than 2 weeks old? A naked portafilter would help in identifying the problem, but it's expensive... Also, if the beans are too old, nothing helps. What you could do is put the grinder (whichever you use) on the finest settings, and work to coarser from there. If the beans are fresh, it should start with clogging or dripping, which means too fine. Just dial it to coarser until you get a more steady stream, up until the point of a proper extraction like in the video. Please keep me updated!
Yeah, I'm looking for the naked pf, but since I live in Brazil and it's not been sold over here it's even more expensive. What kind tamper do you use? And what is the usual dose of coffee, 18 grams?
They are hard to find, especially when you're not in the US (where you can find find them on eBay now and then). You could make one yourself if you're a bit handy :-) The tamper I use is a custom one from Pullman, there's a picture in the article: www.letsgrindsomecoffee.com/bottomless-portafilter-for-breville-barista-express/ I always aim for 18 grams when dialing in.
Thanks for sharing info about espressos and the machine. Do you know where I can find Breville 54mm portafilter in europe? I might travelled there, so I can bring with me. It doesn't need to be naked then; if it's not, I'll have someone to make it for me. I just need an extra portafilter. Thanks again!
Hi, you can see the pressure gauge in the perfect espresso in the end. But just keep it a bit right of the zone and you're good. Grams was about 19 gram, I believe.
Hi, the one from the video should work as well, but maybe there's a slight size difference. The manufacturer might be able to help: shop.pullman.coffee/en/pullman-made-products/naked-portafilters-sunbeam-breville
@@LetsGrindSomeCoffee no any physical data, unfortunately. i just stumbled upon this yt info, being myself interested also in acquiring such an important addition to my Sage Bambino.
@@kidoscopic Aha, I see. Well, if you purchase this, please keep us updated. The thing should be able to withstand quite some "abuse", but if it holds up it's a great price :)
There is still a bit of spraying in the first perfect shot? Is that normal? It seems so annoying that I can’t prevent it from spraying all over my weighing scale every time...
Hi - could you please elaborate on your dosing/distribution technique with this grinder, when I put 18g in the double basket (my preferred dose) i have to tap it once or twice during grinding otherwise i get a huge pile above the basket that also gets knocked off the back of the basket when you remove the portafilter from the grinder. I find even with the taps I get spurts/channeling and uneven distribution weighted towards the back of the basket. the Breville guy in his video gets the same thing.
Hi! Unfortunately, you're about the piling up.My technique is to keep tapping during grinding, to keep the distribution as even as possible. This does work, which also results in minimal channeling and spurts. My separate Breville Smart Grinder does the same and I have seen it with other grinders as well. It just the way these things work I guess, along with a smaller portafilter (58 mm seems to be less affected). Hope this helps! Jacco
i am interested in this machine but i can't seem to find out if there is plastic inside the portafilter?? i am looking for a no plastic portafilter machine.
Yes there is. I bought one yesterday and I'm in a bit of a knot over this plastic since I have so far refused to have plastic and boiling water together in my home.
There is plastic tubing and a plastic collar which helps lock the portafilter in place. If you don't want plastic components you'll need to look at more expensive units made in Europe.
Hi, but late, sorry. Yes, there's a lot of plastic in the machine, also in the portafilter. The naked portafilter featured is all metal, that should help: shop.pullman.coffee/en/pullman-made-products/naked-portafilters-sunbeam-breville
I can't navigate to your site because every browser I try puts up a certificate error page. Do you sell a bottomless 54mm portafilter that can be used with the Breville Bambino?
Hi, I am no longer involved with the site so can't help on that front I'm afraid. However, here's the link to the manufacturer: shop.pullman.coffee/en/pullman-made-products/naked-portafilters-sunbeam-breville
Hi! You can start by grinding finer. You can set your grinder at the finest setting, and work up to coarser until you see better results. Let me know how it goes!
Yes, I have a BES870XL that I purchased 2months ago. Everything was fine in the beginning. I use fresh coffee beans that I buy from a local roaster. Lately, my extraction takes about 15secs only and not getting enough pressure. I tried temping with more or less pressure, used coarse or fine grinded beans but non those made a difference.
Great video, thanks for sharing as I am still trying to dial in my unit. The first perfect shot had a great extraction time of about 25 sec while the second was closer to 40 sec, any idea why the difference?
Hi, thanks for the compliment! There are a few reasons the runs differ from each other, but did you run these right after each other? If there are a few days in between there could be some left-over from the previous run, which affects results (although 15 seconds difference is a bit too much). Are you using single origin beans or a blend? Blends are a bit harder (but again, 15 seconds is a lot) due to the variation in beans. Also, it's actually pretty difficult at first to get an even tamp for every try, so that's more likely to be the culprit. If all above is the same, the tamp pressure is most likely to cause the difference. With older beans, you simply press as hard as you can, but with fresher beans, you have to be more delicate. As we humans don't have built-in pressure measurement, this takes a few runs before you get the hang of it. Perhaps you can share a bit more about your process? By the way, how was the taste of both runs? Did you notice any difference? Jacco
Hi Joshua, I think you're right, now I've read the question again. The first shot is the better one of the two, the second one starts a bit slower and has a smaller extraction flow overall. I assume (but I don't know for sure anymore) that the grind was tamped too hard on the second run. I've added this scene because I liked how it looked, but it's not the best example :-)
Hi, this could have several reasons, but the most common one is too coarse grind or your coffee beans are too old. You would also have a quick extraction along with a bit of a sour taste. Hope this helps!
Really Great Video. I think I am going to head in the direction of a bottomless portafilter after watching this video. Question: what are your grind settings and how many grams are you using for the perfect shot at the end of the video? Many Thanks.
Hi, sorry for the late reply, didn't got a YT notification. I used about 18 grams of coffee per shot and for this specific shot I believe the grinder was around setting 3.
@@fadgonefishing46 Sort of, depends on the number of settings you have. The Barista Express is pretty limited in range, basically only for espresso. A dedicated grinder has a wider setting, to accomodate for drip etc. But it's in the low range for sure.
I"ve had my m/c for over a year now and it has worked fine today though when i tried to extract creme the pressure is not going up to between 11 and 12 just pouring through the bottom i have changed the seal but this has made no difference any help would be appreciated atb Mart
Hi Joshua, you're right! If I would do a few things differently if I would make this video again (which I probably will someday). To be fair, the video was meant to show the bottomless portafilter in action, which is why the camera was so close. But to give the video more meaning I could have added a smaller picture-in-picture with the pressure gauge. So I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Jacco
Hi there, I have a barista express and I use it with bottomless portafilter. I share videos about it on my channel. Each shot is different from the previous one. I know I have to do a lot of work. I would be very happy if you could watch my videos and comment on what I should do. I want to do this right. Thank you for your support in advance.
@@LetsGrindSomeCoffee Thank you very much for your feedback. Your comments are very important to me. I will pay attention to all these and prepare a video as an answer for you.
Hi Malcolm, in this case I was referring to the pre-infusion pressure, but I was confused by my own answer at first as well :-) For regular extraction it ramps up to 9 bar.
Hi, great video indeed. Thanks a lot. I have this great machine for a month now. Unfortunatelly i don't have naked PF, but i will try to get one. Despite of that I have noticed that there is some problem during extraction process. At first there is nice slow stream of coffee pouring to the cup but than i notice that pressure is falling down quickly and a coffee is like flying out of the machine. I think that this is problem with some sort of channeling but I don't know how to fix it. I have tried different distribution methods but it still there. Coffee doesn't taste bad at all but it is like watery feeling. I have noticed that there is almost always hole in my puck, but i just don't know how to fix it. Suprisingly it is always on the same spot on the puck - right on the opposite side from the handle of PF, if i am looking on the puck with handle of PF towards me, the hole is almost on 12 a clock. It almost looks like the machine push stream of water right trough the puck on this spot. I dose around 18g of coffee every shot and my grinder is set to 5-6. The pressure on begining of the brew is almost at the end of the espresso range. Beans are fresh from 1 to 3 week from roasting. But i have notice, if i tamp 18g of coffee and I really don't tamp it hard, level of coffee in a basket is really low, if I use the razor tool there is like 2mm between the razor and surface of coffee bed. I am just wondering, does you met with this problem too? Or anybody?
Hi, thanks for the compliment! Regarding your question, I did notice the hole you mention as well, a few times. I think this location has something to do with the location of the grinds coming out of the grinder (piling up on that spot). Your second part got me thinking. The grinder isn't very exact, so it's a bit hard to get 18g of coffee for each round. In fact, when using a precise scale, it could differ by a few grams. The grind amount knob has a mind of its own, as sometimes it's very delicate, while other times you hardly notice any difference spinning that thing around. The height of the coffee bed is determined by the volume and grind level. The coarser you grind, the bigger the pile, with the risk of overflowing if you don't tap enough. Unfortunately, measuring grams won't do the trick. The razer is actually a convenient tool to start with so you can determine the right hight of your coffee bed. After tamping it should at least hit the bottom of the razer, a little above isn't that bad (and you can remove it with the razer, of course). It's possible that you don't grind enough coffee, with the level of coffee in the portafilter ending up too low. Because of how the grinder works, you might have a more dense concentration of coffee in the back, causing channeling. Could you try it with more coffee, to increase the surface of the coffee bed, and skim it off with the razer? Also, tap a lot during grinding to improve distribution. Hope this helps! Jacco
Let's Grind Some Coffee Hi, thanks a lot for your answer. I am using scale with 0.1g precision every time i am making a shot. Like you said you couldn't rely on the grind amount that you set. I weight in and even out to determine a brew ratio :-) I always dose at least 18g of coffee because almost every time i have used less it wasn't good. Sometimes i even tried to dose more like 18.5 or 19g of coffee but after i tamp and i don't tamp hard at all the level of coffee is still low. I would either dose more into basket or tamp less but i am afraid it isn't right way to make better shot. But today i have found something really intresting. I always grind at 5 or coarser. I have never grind finer than 5 but today when I have finished my coffee I decided to clean a grinder so I take down a hoper and top burr and i have found bad marks on top burr. Like lower burr has been scretching a top one. So it looks like something is wrong with my grinder and probably my grind was way to fine. While i was thinking that i am grinding to coarse because every body says to geind 5 or finer. With next bag of coffee i have to try grind coarser.
I like your approach, I like to measure as much as possible as well :). I hope you found the problem, and if not, perhaps you could check if this falls under the warranty?
Let's Grind Some Coffee I think maybe some of the coffee stuck around or under the lower burr so it push it and doesn't allow to grind coarser. Could I ask you just one more question? What do you use for descaling your machine? In manual they say to use white vinegar, butit is good for machine? Can I use some other descaler? And the same for getting rid of the coffee oils with blind basket, because in our country breville doesn't sell their tablets so I bought CAFIZA2 and DEZCAL for descailing from Urnex.
I believe I had something like that as well one time, where I had to poke to built up out of the grinder, but mine really jammed (even with cleaning tablets on regular intervals). As for the descaling, I use a solution from their Dutch distributor of Breville, Solis. It's called Solipol (www.solisonline.nl/koffie-thee/accessoires-reinigingsmiddelen/solipol-special), which is a lactic acid based solution. I believe any type of lactic acid will do, just don't use citric acid. If white vinegar is what they recommend you could go with that as well, but because they have a special product in my country, that's what they recommend :-) Same goes for the tabs, which I can get here as well. If Urnex has something more universal that could do the trick as well, as Urnex is a great brand. I use the Grindz product (along with another brand) for cleaning my grinders.
I measured the time it took for your perfect cup to make - it's 26 seconds. I've never been able to get my BE to take that much time to make the coffee :( It pushes the coffee out in about 5-7 seconds. I've tried almost all grind sizes, and the only thing happening is the pressure goes up and the grind is finer, but the time doesn't change (until it does - when the grind is so fine it's just clogged). Ideas anyone? Is my Barista a lemon? Or am I just a doofus?
The beans really do matter - I've had my BES870XL for over 6 months and was getting 12-18 seconds on some fresh locally roasted beans; I just purchased a bag of the Lavazza Gran Crema beans and it took over 30 seconds, set at 5. This morning it took 25 seconds set at 10. I may have to go in and change the internal setting to a coarser grind.
Yeah, the beans play a big part. With freshly roasted beans (day-fresh) it's even possible to clog up the machine, no matter what setting. Supermarket beans never work for me and I always keep the roast date in mind. Hope this (and above) helps!
This is actuating a really good video just on naked portafilter extraction tips. I think it needs a more generalised title (e.g. Diagnosing your naked portafilter coffee extraction) and you'd get a much wider audience.
Man, you show us a perfect bottomless when u make a perfect espresso, but you din´t show us how you did a perfect espresso. Please tell how many grams you use and all
This is always going to change depending on the type of coffee you use, but is generally 7-9 grams per single shot. You have to "dial it in." There are some good tutorials on youtube that might be helpful to you.

Nice video bro, however, your final perfect shot wasn't that perfect. Fast, there was a multiple streams! Could you explain why that's happening. Because I have that problem too when I make mine espresso.
Hi, thanks! Well, the first one was a bit too short with 25 seconds (you can also see the pressure gauge a little too much on the left side) and the seconds a bit too long on 45 seconden. What you see is that the multiple smaller streams get into one bigger stream, which stays that way. This isn't bad, as it means the water is flowing evenly through the puck. If it would center right away then you would get channeling, which badly affects the taste. But shots would taste great, so I wouldn't sweat on it too much. So many variables to consider, up to humidity and temperature in your house. If the taste is good, aesthetics are less important ;) Enjoy!
@@LetsGrindSomeCoffee whatever the dose you used in the second final shot (close up) was way too long I would bet it was bitter as hell. Onthe first final shot you can see big spray on the left (channeling) so...not that perfect but almost :) 25-35 sec range way better
why are you letting those shots run so long? just for the video? the second "good" shot you pulled was a full minute. there's no way that can taste good when its so over-extracted
The second one was a bit too long, but as I explained in a different reactie, it looked good :) It still tastes good, though. As long as it flows it won't burn that easily, and I personally like it a bit bitter. When the flow starts too late you could end up with a burnt taste, even though I like that as well.
Hi, thanks! It depends on the bean, the grind setting, how I tamped, and the freshness of the bean (but you probably know all the variables ;-). You basically can't go wrong when the needle is right up, or a bit to the right. For the beans I used in the video, this was the perfect setting. Being more to the left could cause the pressure to get to low if it drops a bit (as you see happening in the video). I now am running a different bean, where the needle is consistently on about 11 o'clock, which gets a perfect espresso.

In my experience too fine grind clogs the machine up. However, coffee that's too old (old beans or ground long time ago) will still flow through, no matter how fine you grind. Could that be the case?
I still have this one (only pump replaced) and are pulling relatively consistent shots, as long as all the parameters are the same (temp, humidity, beans etc.). Pre-heating could do the trick, and I admit it's a bit harder in the summer when the beans get more sticky due to the oil warming up.
This was really interesting, thank you! Most channels and coffee content creators are too focused on how to get things perfect, not how to troubleshoot or spot when things go wrong.
That was my goal ;)

Grind finer to start
if you cannot grind finer for some reason you might need a better grinder.

That company should give you a commission or something. ;)
Haha, glad to be of help. Not sure how many customers I've send them, but having one myself was enough for me (for which I paid :)
What a great video and awesome help. Now I know my grind is a little too coarse, that's why it comes out too early and too black, exactly as on the video showed!! Thank youu!!
Glad to be of help!
Thank you so much for this amazing demonstration, may i ask was what was the grind size that you inputed and how many grams of coffee did you put in that port filter? Also did you use the 1:2 ratio? Or more thanks 🙏
Hi, grind size is normally between 10-14 with about 20 grams of coffee for a double espresso. Hope this helps!
Awesome video and explanations!
Thanks!
Are you using fresh beans, preferably 1-2 weeks after roasting? If the beans are too old you will never build up enough pressure unfortunately.
WOW NICE VIDEO , THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Glad you liked it!
Hi there, do you grind the pf yourself or where do you get it? Thanks for the awesome videos!
Hi, thanks! Wish I could make it myself :-) I got mine from Pullman Coffee in Australia. You can learn more about it in the companion article: www.letsgrindsomecoffee.com/bottomless-portafilter-for-breville-barista-express/

You could make one yourself if you're a bit handy :-) The tamper I use is a custom one from Pullman, there's a picture in the article: www.letsgrindsomecoffee.com/bottomless-portafilter-for-breville-barista-express/
I always aim for 18 grams when dialing in.
I wish you would have included pressure gauge in the video, and what was your dose?
Hi, you can see the pressure gauge in the perfect espresso in the end. But just keep it a bit right of the zone and you're good. Grams was about 19 gram, I believe.

There is still a bit of spraying in the first perfect shot? Is that normal? It seems so annoying that I can’t prevent it from spraying all over my weighing scale every time...
Tiny bit, yes. Can still happen as the pressure is pretty high, but shouldn't make a total mess :)
Very well presented. If you can add more light will be even better. Thank you
Thanks! The angle was a bit difficult ;)
Jacco

Hi, I believe this was a local batch.
i am interested in this machine but i can't seem to find out if there is plastic inside the portafilter?? i am looking for a no plastic portafilter machine.
Yes there is. I bought one yesterday and I'm in a bit of a knot over this plastic since I have so far refused to have plastic and boiling water together in my home.
@@davidw6108 then maybe if i use a bottomless or naked portafilter set up that would eliminate the plastic? i am so done with plastic!!

I am not getting enough pressure and my extractions are very short. Whats the problem you think? I grind medium coarse.
Hi! You can start by grinding finer. You can set your grinder at the finest setting, and work up to coarser until you see better results. Let me know how it goes!
Let's Grind Some Coffee I already tried that. Almost like powder, Turkish coffee style but still no changes.
That really should clog up. Are you using fresh beans, like 1-2 weeks old? And to be sure, you've got the Breville from the video?
Yes, I have a BES870XL that I purchased 2months ago. Everything was fine in the beginning. I use fresh coffee beans that I buy from a local roaster. Lately, my extraction takes about 15secs only and not getting enough pressure. I tried temping with more or less pressure, used coarse or fine grinded beans but non those made a difference.
t seems you're doing everything right, so perhaps the pump is broken?! Did you contact the store? I think Breville needs to take a look.
Jacco
I think he's talking about YOUR "perfect shot"s. The farther away one and the closer up one had different extraction times.
Hi Joshua, I think you're right, now I've read the question again. The first shot is the better one of the two, the second one starts a bit slower and has a smaller extraction flow overall. I assume (but I don't know for sure anymore) that the grind was tamped too hard on the second run. I've added this scene because I liked how it looked, but it's not the best example :-)
what's the grind settings and weight of the beans?
REALLY cool video!
Thanks!
do you know why when i finish the coffe extraction, the coffe left in the portafilter is watery?
Hi, this could have several reasons, but the most common one is too coarse grind or your coffee beans are too old. You would also have a quick extraction along with a bit of a sour taste.
Hope this helps!

You should show the pressure gauge at the same time, too. A correlated indicator.

What water do you all use for this machine?
Tap water, which is the best over here.
If white vinegar is what they recommend you could go with that as well, but because they have a special product in my country, that's what they recommend :-)
Same goes for the tabs, which I can get here as well. If Urnex has something more universal that could do the trick as well, as Urnex is a great brand. I use the Grindz product (along with another brand) for cleaning my grinders.
How did you get Them?
Here you go (bit late, sorry): shop.pullman.coffee/en/pullman-made-products/naked-portafilters-sunbeam-breville

+RAMON CABRERA Thanks :-)
why are you letting those shots run so long? just for the video? the second "good" shot you pulled was a full minute. there's no way that can taste good when its so over-extracted
The second one was a bit too long, but as I explained in a different reactie, it looked good :) It still tastes good, though. As long as it flows it won't burn that easily, and I personally like it a bit bitter. When the flow starts too late you could end up with a burnt taste, even though I like that as well.

Thanks?
not bad but the pressure must be 10 or 11 o clock
I now am running a different bean, where the needle is consistently on about 11 o'clock, which gets a perfect espresso.
i see sorry for misunderstanding

Surprised that too fine a grind actually made the extract go too fast, completely counter intuitive. Cant really understand it tbh
In my experience too fine grind clogs the machine up. However, coffee that's too old (old beans or ground long time ago) will still flow through, no matter how fine you grind. Could that be the case?
So perfect espesso is when you do #3 and #4 mistakes in the same time. Okay.
Just enjoy ;)

Rubbish machine no matter how you set up no matter how you press never takes equal coffee every time 🥺🥺🥺
I still have this one (only pump replaced) and are pulling relatively consistent shots, as long as all the parameters are the same (temp, humidity, beans etc.). Pre-heating could do the trick, and I admit it's a bit harder in the summer when the beans get more sticky due to the oil warming up.
Wow thank you for this video!!!!!!
