My FAVOURITE callback in this was the brief shot of the newspaper clippings referencing Part 7 and 8 dismissing them as "mysterious explosions" and "what happened to the mystery of the Lazarus boat grad trip disaster". Just enough of a mention to New Blood & Takes Manhattan to not have to ret-con it from canon but yet not make it a part of this story they need to really care about
After seeing the previous ones in the series, I knew I had to financially support this effort; I was not disappointed with the end product! I hope to see more of this type of content from creative/ambitious film makers.
I watched it yesterday and i loved every second of it. Felt so satisfying seeing Tommy get a fitting conclusion to his story. And my God, Thom Matthew's is so good! 🔥
Loved it, this was made with so much passion & respects the lore a wonderful love letter for Friday fans. Excellent review Lee perfectly summed up the movie.
My expectations were high after Never Hike Alone 1. It blew my expectations AWAAAAAAY. Quality is the keyword here. Since Jason Lives is my favorite of the bunch, I love Thom Mathews came back for these "fan" films. Also, cool True Romance shirt (my all time favorite movie)
It will never not be awesome to have your name in the credits of a F13 movie. Will forever be grateful the Never Hike movies came out. I wish it was a bit more focused on Kyle, but that's a minor nitpick. Also, DO A RANKING WITH THESE MOVIES IN THEM!!! I consider them canon and have them on my shelf right next to the paramount and new line ones.
Watching tonight! Cant wait! Beyond just fan films, the quality of alot of indie films & short films in general is amazing. Alot of seriously talent ppl out there & I love that with technology & platforms like RUclips they get to showcase it!
I wouldn't kick you out of bed !! LOL... Watched the movie - it is def up there in my top 5 F13 franchise films. I've noticed there are no lists on YT about the Harbinger of Doom trope. Maybe be the first to discuss your thoughts? all the best Mac.@@DrumdumsOfficial
GREAT movie.. Very nice you uploaded this. I wouldn't had known til like 6 months later a sequel was made .This I could actually patiently watch second by second with high interest WITHOUT forwarding to action kill scenes.
Lee, I met Thom Matthews at Frankencon in Alcoa Tn back in Summer. He was awesome and talked quite a bit about Never Hike Alone 2. He said he had to shoot for 2 more weeks then it was done. He said the quality and production is impressive and he said he was very proud to be apart of it. He said the fans were gonna be happy. He was absolutely right. Watched after work Saturday morning and I loved it. Vince is ready to receive a studio budget and direct the next studio production film. He is that good at knowing the proper way to do a Friday the 13th film. This felt perfect to fit in with the Jarvis trilogy. Jason is badass here, the look is great. Very satisfied fan here!❤
Thank you for sharing your experience with Thom. He's the real deal. I met him a few years ago and he was easily one of the nicest celebs I've ever met. Very giving of his time.
These fan films have become on par with the studio releases. They're very good all things considered. But I think they shouldn't be mixed with the studio releases as they're their own things. Good review and cool video Lee!👉😃👈
It was a proper surprise to see this pop up on the recommended randomly. I had no clue it was dropping. After enjoying the last couple installments, I can say this hour long special is the best by Vincent DeSanti. The film is not only a culmination of him bringing his full effort, but it also culminates so much more. Mainly in the Tommy Jarvis narrative. First of all, huge props to Tom Matthews for collaborating and clearly enjoying the material. He delivered a great performance. Giving this film so much charisma, heart, humor, and a perfect center point for the film. I love the risk taken within these fan films by Vincent. Whether it is the settings or decisions in how to unfold the story. Bringing in stylized scenes like the bodycam massacre. Not to mention the break away from the typical formula. As we no longer follow teens enjoying their summer in Camp Crystal Lake. Providing decent to well written characters that feel fresh for an F13 narrative. Really enjoyed how this film plays around with the time of events from the previous two films. Bringing a perfect trilogy for viewers. Never Hike Alone 2 also upped the practical effects and 95% look great and landed. Besides some nit picky convenient writing to fill the hour and a poorly acted sheriff, I have almost next to no gripes for this third installment.
I’m really liking the quality and direction that these fan films are going into. I almost forgot (while watching this movie) that it was a fan film. This movie would easily fit into the the studio’s collection. Hollywood better get their acts together or the fan films are gonna eventually take over if this type of quality becomes the norm lol
I absolutely loved it! Part 5 was also referenced at the beginning! Lee, you’re right about fan films, I watched a great horror short fan film on RUclips the other day called Stalked and Lauren LaVera was in it!
I've just caught a bit of.the review. It's 2.20 am and I'm like 5 minutes into ithe movie and I'm totally hooked so gonna force myself to stay awake and watch the rest. So far the quality is mindblowing. Get this guy to do an official sequel, he's more than earned it.
I loved it. Watched it during the day of Friday the 13th! Glad I watched it and also a loved letter to fans. I missed friday the 13th on theaters but this was awesome!
Loved this one. All of them are great, but this was up there as probably one of my favorites of the franchise. I always felt like Tommy could have continued after part 6. He’s one of the best Final Boys / Final Guys of the franchise. This did what Spiderman No Way Home did with blending legacy characters with a new storyline. Great kills, suprises, casting and an epic conclusion to Tommy’s story. This shows you that we don’t need Hollywood or studio films to make great films. I’m content with them making movies going forward. Loved it so much!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just watched it today & it's an awesome film, & when you watch all 3 Never Hike movies together it makes for a good Friday movie...& YES include the 2 fan films in your ranking! After I finish reviewing the last few Friday films I'm going to rank the franchise including the Never Hike films as one not only because they're good but also so I'll have 13 movies in the ranking. I'm looking forward to seeing your ranking, I love to see the differences in what ppl like & dislike about this wonderful art we call movies.
I enjoyed this one a lot. if you would of asked me before this Movie if we should include fan films in the ranking of the Friday the 13th Movies I would of said no but after watching this, yes!!! please do!
I couldn't agree with you more. Not just about this movie, but with where fan films are at. Unlike studio films, these are made by passion not profit. Even if you don't like a particular fan film, you have to admire and respect the dedication that goes into making them, and that's not something you can say about Hollywood, especially now. But I've been waiting for NHA2 for 5 years, and it exceeded my every expectation. And watching Never Hike Alone: The Ghost Cut and Never Hike Alone 2 back to back, with the events of each movie intertwined with and leading into the next, it feels like one epic story. What Vincente DiSanti and the whole team at Womp Stomp Films have done is throw down the gauntlet of challenge to Hollywood. Saying "Look what we did for almost no money and for no profit. Beat that!"
Vincent and James own the fan film market no doubt. The NHA films are by far the best out there. I know there's other ones out there but not even close imo.
Yes we should include these fan films with studio franchises and I honestly think that Never Hike in the Snow, Never Hike Alone and Never Hike Alone 2 is better than Friday The 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday.
Yes definitely include the fan films in the rankings, why not. In many ways they are far superior anyways. Plus it would make it a more challenging with their Inclusion. Great job as always brother !!
This was so well made, I loved it. Yes when they are made this good, I think we should put them with studio quality movies. It went by so fast and I loved every minute of it
Absolutely in love with these films. Loved the story, acting, cinematography etc…I will post more in the spoiler review cause I don’t want to ruin others experience.
Here's my ranking with the Never hike alone trilogy from worst to best. Not counting remakes Final friday is last Jason X Friday the 13th 8 JTM Friday the 13th 5 Never Hike in the snow Friday the 13th part 7 Friday the 13th Never Hike alone Friday the 13th part 2 Never Hike alone 2 Friday the 13th part 6 Friday the 13th part 3D Friday the 13th part 4
These stories that are supposed to be scary just feels like action movies. Cat and mouse chases or hide and seek games, but where is the suspense and foreboding and fear? Are we just accepting these movies out of nostalgia in place of actual scares and goosebumps? Where is the fright?
What a great fan film, Never Hike Alone is one of the best that was made about Friday the 13th without being canon, I hope Hollywood gives more chances to people like the ones who were involved in Never Hike Alone, having seen all this in theaters would have been glorious, I loved both parts, seeing Tommy Jarvis back was great and seeing Jason being even more brutal than ever was even more so, everything was done well and I almost shed a tear in the scene where Jason's mother calls him , it is quite strange to go from fearing Jason to then empathizing a lot with him and it is something that has been done for a long time and in this project they did it again in the most emotional way possible, it is not so surprising since Jason vorhees for more cruel as he is in his murders, he is an antagonist who suffered an enormous tragedy, good review my friend, keep it up.
I'm no copyright lawyer, and it could vary depending on the franchise, but I believe as long as the name "Friday the 13th" isn't used in the title and a legal statement that they don't own the characters, then they're good.
I thought it was fun and my buddies I watched it with felt the same. I think the look and feel of the movie was definitely better than it had any right being. I don't really agree that the acting was entirely up to par, cause I most definitely had some moments where it felt a bit silly. Sheriff Cologne was at the top of that list ha. Granted, goofy acting is kind of a staple of this entire franchise but even on that curve, some of this felt EXTRA. I also wasn't a HUGE fan of some of the choices in the big hospital scene, as it felt out of place for me. In all though, I had a good time and really enjoy exploring these fan films which are getting bigger all the time.
As far as I'm concerned, fan films ARE films just as much as any other film. And it just makes it a million times better in cases like this where the films blend so nicely in with the official films. I love low budget film making, I watch loads of no budget films, but these are on another level. I'm so glad these Friday fan films are so good with the drought of official Friday we have, meanwhile I was really excited for Charles a Chucky fan film and even donated a decent chunk to it. only for when it finally came out I wasn't even posted the blu ray I pledged for, and was very let down by how incredibly amateurish it was. WIth very rough audio choices I wouldn't have even made in videos I used to edit as a pre-teen, poor special effects and drab lighting. I think that one just let me down way more since It's the only fan film I've ever donated to and was promised something great, only for it to not live up to anything. Like at all. But oh well, at least Chucky is getting LOADS of new official content anyway. That one exception aside since I actually paid for it and wasn't given what I paid for, I love low budget films haha. I plan on soon making my own 80's styled alien horror comedy film, going to try my best with what me and my wife have and be proud of what we come up with. I like to think I'm pretty good at writing plots and coming up with ideas that aren't completely boring. Difference is though i'm not going to charge anyone for it.
I would say, if they are as nicely made as Never Hike Alone, Never Hike In The Snow, ones like that, yeah, I'll say go ahead and include them in the ranking. I'll say that the quality of them are up on par with what the studios do. Anyways, thank you, Lee.
Awesome video Drumdums hope you're well my awesome friend. Yeah love the never hike along. Friday the 13th Fan film Franchise . its part of my film cannon . I also like the vengeance Friday fan films , Jason Rising and Rose blood a Friday the 13th part 7 fan film . Friday the 13th has a lot of great fan films .
Just finished it , I have to give it a 9.8 out of 10 a few minor flaws but overall best Friday since part 6 which closed the Jarvis line perfectly thanks for letting us know it was put out ❤
I just started watching the never hike movies. I have watched never hike alone and never hike alone 2. I would love to see a ranking with these included as I think that they are better than at least half of the commercial movies. The shots are beautiful. The lighting is great; I like the original Paramount films for their lighting, but I felt the later films (2009 in particular) did a poor job with that. In addition, the characters all felt real in a way that made me care to see them make it. Finally I must say I loved the references; the first time watching part two, as soon as I saw those red dots, I knew the exact line to say out loud at the same time as the sheriff 😊
I loved this movie. Definitely one of my Friday feature films and I love that Thom Mathews was the main character. I loved the ending too and they treated Jason with respect and the franchise. I would LOVE to see Danielle and Womp Stomp Studios talk about a requel to Halloween 4. I think I could see Danielle eventually going the fan film route if she's not included in whatever Miramax has planned next for the Halloween franchise. I think we definitely SHOULD add fan films to the franchises especially if they have legacy characters in them like Never Hike Alone II. Not to mention Sheriff Rick became an even BETTER character in the franchise thanks to this trilogy and his badassery against Jason. WHEREVER THE RED DOT GOES...YA BANG!
I just wished these movie franchises were scary. That’s what’s lacking outside of the great production, good acting, good cinematography, good directing, whatever. They’re just not scary. Remember the original Halloween? That was scary. The mystery factor is gone from these legacy characters.
I agree Lee, the movie was so good it felt like a studio film. Just think what this crew could do with a big studio budget. There's no reason NOT to include the fan films in your F13th series ranking.
I really enjoyed this film my favorite of 2023. Hollywood should take notes this is how you bring back.legacy characters and respect the icon. I really enjoyed this film.
I'm a huge horror fan. Friday and NMoES being my favorites. I had just watched F13 part 3 & I can clearly say that the story, acting and overall production is so much better in NHA 2
Am I personal opinion has to become a time when we quit call them fan films cuz the morning does fan films they're really good films made by fans yes but the quality is really good and this is good as to me specially these never hike alone series it's been really impressive if you give this director a studio budget of 10 million can you imagine what he can do with it it'll be incredible
I really enjoyed this movie alot this is coming from a massive Friday the 13th fan,if it happens the studio decide to make a Friday film they should pick Vincent to direct
My FAVOURITE callback in this was the brief shot of the newspaper clippings referencing Part 7 and 8 dismissing them as "mysterious explosions" and "what happened to the mystery of the Lazarus boat grad trip disaster". Just enough of a mention to New Blood & Takes Manhattan to not have to ret-con it from canon but yet not make it a part of this story they need to really care about
Yes loved all the little Easter eggs.
Thank you Lee 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You’re most welcome! 👏
I was amazing how good it was. The production, editing, acting, etc.. They should get Vincent to direct the studio movie if they ever do one
Agreed.
Agreed. They should get Vincent to direct and play Jason.
Thanks for always bringing attention to these fan films!!!! You rock
Welcome!

I would say, if they are as nicely made as Never Hike Alone, Never Hike In The Snow, ones like that, yeah, I'll say go ahead and include them in the ranking. I'll say that the quality of them are up on par with what the studios do. Anyways, thank you, Lee.
Great point Jen.
Image if Kane Hodder could have played Jason 😊😊 In Never Hike Alone 2
Hell yeah! I wonder if he's ever been asked to be Jason in a fan film.
@@DrumdumsOfficial He could definitely played it he's a great Jason.
Where the red dot goes, ya bang!
Yes it does!
Just finished it , I have to give it a 9.8 out of 10 a few minor flaws but overall best Friday since part 6 which closed the Jarvis line perfectly thanks for letting us know it was put out ❤
Awesome!
Yeah these are next level fan films.
I loved it. Jason in the hospital was so badass
Yes! That's one thing I forgot to mention...the various locations. So cool having Jason in a hospital.
have you seen the 2 VENGEANCE Friday fan films with Diana Prince? good stuff as well
I'm shocked to say I haven't. I need to.
@@DrumdumsOfficial oh yeah!
About to watch it ill let you know what I think
They have announced a 3rd and a 4th but i understand why do think they will do it
I loved this movie.
Yeah I definitely think she's "playing her cards" so to speak for one final chance with Trancas.
Played by the OG actors? 100x over YES!!!
Loved it thought it was brilliant 😊
This movie was better than a lot of big studio horror films
I love this fan film Jason is amazing.
I just wished these movie franchises were scary. That’s what’s lacking outside of the great production, good acting, good cinematography, good directing, whatever. They’re just not scary. Remember the original Halloween? That was scary. The mystery factor is gone from these legacy characters.
Honestly I've never really watched Jason to be scared, although those first few movies definitely got me when I was young.
I agree Lee, the movie was so good it felt like a studio film. Just think what this crew could do with a big studio budget. There's no reason NOT to include the fan films in your F13th series ranking.
Jason rises has notbing
On never hike alone 1 and 2. But I respect your opinion. This brings closure to the tommy Jarvis saga.
Ummmm…..that tee shirt. I need it.🤘🏼
Never Hike Alone II Rulez✊🏻!
I really enjoyed this film my favorite of 2023. Hollywood should take notes this is how you bring back.legacy characters and respect the icon. I really enjoyed this film.
They definitely should Tiph. Fan films are a viable option now, and many celebs are taking notice.
Thanks For The Review
Mr. Lee
I Need To Visit The Previous
Never Hike Alone
Movies Than Watch This One
Definitely do Polly!
Yes bro, do a new ranking.. I’m curious 👀
You got it!
I'm a huge horror fan. Friday and NMoES being my favorites. I had just watched F13 part 3 & I can clearly say that the story, acting and overall production is so much better in NHA 2
Agreed. I do love the feel of those early movies though. I guess I love the then and the now.
No need for Hollywood to touch Jason again. This end is canon for me
It is a perfect ending.
Agreed!
can’t believe I’m saying this but this is a top 5 friday film. maybe even top 3 it’s that good. so amazing i was giggling like a kid watching this.
Agreed! Insane.
Yes Lee, fan films should be included in your F13 ranking… so long as Sorry Mrs Voorhees is #1.
