in my experience (as a professional couch potato youtube video watcher) is, it's something people tend to do when they're worried about being too monotone so they end up sounding a little silly trying to throw their inflection around. for example people being new to narrating, or people who are uncomfortable with public speaking. GVMERS is someone who seems to be experienced and comfortable narrating so that's why they just read it in a neutral voice.
