Although i'm Thai, I choose to watch your video because of the way you speak hook my attention. Thanks for recipe na kub, I'll make my mom do this someday. :D
Very doable recipe, I have coconuts and limes in my yard, and wing beans available from Filipino farmers at open market. All other ingredients already in my pantry. You are an inspiration Pai! Mahalo!
This dish is great! A bit of work to pull all the components together, one tweak I'd strongly recommend is adding 2 tablespoons of sour Tamarind juice. Also worth noting this dish is very delicious (a refreshing variation) with the Nam Prik Pao left out, so don't fret if you don't have any.
In the Philippines we call it "Sigarilyas" in our language , that's also good sauteed in coconut milk and with dried fish and spicy red chili Ang sprinkle with toasted garlic to garnish 🤤🤤🤤
just a tip for people who are new at using wing beans, my mom thought me to remove the stringy part at the side of the wing beans ( pull the tip from the top or bottom and the stringy part can now easily be removed) im not sure if its different, but here in the philippines thats what we do, since the string can be very very chewy and can ruin the dish.
Hi Pai, love your vids, very well done, sorry cause sometimes watch one and forget to like it even though it was great! You have a lot going for you, smart, and very beautiful wish you well on your life's adventure!
I can't find winged beans, but I have some big hyacinth bean pods growing on the fence, so I'll try those--after a three-minute blanch in boiling water.
OH WOW! JUST FNISHED EATING Your Corn and Cucumber Salad(green papaya’s originals) and now will do this tomorrow if i found that Sigarilyas(in tagalog).
Is this more of a pasta or potato type salad that would improve with a day in the refrigerator or like a tossed green salad that should be eaten soon after preparation? The protein would probably taste better after absorbing the dressing a bit, would the beans get soggy?
Terrence Nicholson I've had this the next day and it was yummy. It won't look as good though...as the beans will have wilted slightly on the edges, but they will still be crunchy.
I love your channel! Something about the way you talk about food that is really engaging and interesting, and the food is always amazing. You deserve more views! Keep up the good work :D
Is there a good replacement for that hot sauce if one is allergic to shrimp? :( I has resigned myself to never eating Thai food b/c I'm always rolling a dice as to whether the restaurant makes their base stock with shrimp. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos b/c you show us how to make most of these sauces from scratch so I can omit the shrimp.
DoughnutBuranasaksin agreed! my vegetarian friends keep saying they csnt eat thai food because they use fish stock...and I keep asking them if they mean fish sauce because fish/shrimp stock isnt common in Thailand. and yes Im thai as well
Reporting back on my experiment. I made this with turkey and green beans and it was AWESOME. I've been sick for a week and this was the first food I could actually taste :)
Hiii! I love all your cooking videos! Definitely let's me visit my kitchen a lot more than usual to try new dishes. I'd love it if you showed us how to make that white mushroom fungus salad with Nam in there. I hope you can make Nam too. (Fermented sour pork) Thank you soo much!
I don't think there's a word for that in Eng. In Việt Nam, we call it "fishy" but that's not the correct word to describe it since it's not a living aquatic animal. But it smells weird to me, texture is fine but no for the smell.

I also use the same brand of chili paste for all my salad.
How did you boil the 8-minute egg? Wait till the water is boiling. And put the egg in and boil for 8 mins?
OH WOW! JUST FNISHED EATING Your Corn and Cucumber Salad(green papaya’s originals) and now will do this tomorrow if i found that Sigarilyas(in tagalog).

I'm going to make this, I just bought some winged beans from a Thai lady on the market...Nice recipe
Ok
we call it dragon bean, because the shape looks like scales of the dragon

Hi Pai, what's the difference between Thai Nam Prik and Indonesian Sambal? does it taste the same?

As i'm thai. Ive never seen shrimp stock in Thailand or maybe it does, but I think its not very common, nor fish stock is. Mostly pork, chicken, beef.

oh, looks yummy!
Ooh i love wing beans! Where in Canada did you buy that?
Sarj D Vancouver :)
This might sound crazy, but I'm thinking of doing this with leftover Turkey :)
Reporting back on my experiment. I made this with turkey and green beans and it was AWESOME. I've been sick for a week and this was the first food I could actually taste :)

Hi Pai, quick question: I am allergic to shrimp, so is there a substitute of the Thai chili paste I could use? Thanks :-)
Moumanti Podder I would try sambal Chili paste or gochujuang.
Thank you so much for this suggestion :-)

Can i skip the coconut sis?
+Vo Ngocchau Sure!

I don't really like wing beans.... The smell of it freaks me. :(
