Test it with all the games "it can't run". Like you do with AMD GPUs; using the most inappropriate settings for the hardware. What about the most core count reliant benchmark you can find?
another reason why NPC's is heavy on CPU is because when they move, their mesh changes and deforms. the CPU has to calculate the position of the vertices (where multiple faces meet).
Do you not understand that setting DLSS to ultra performance which is an internal resolution of 720p is obviously going to put more load on the CPU? So I don't quite get the surprise there.
It's not misleading when people claim the 9800x3d and 7800x3d beats a 14900k. AMD shills will show benchmarks of an intel cpu at stock speed and claim AMD outperforms intel, but that's not true. I've owned a 13900k, 14900k, 7800x3d, and 9950x. Intel wins across the board for gaming and productivity.
@@brendanhuffman1339 Nonsense. Both cpu's at stock the 9800x3d is 30% ahead in games. You think overclocking your cpu and ram is making up for a 30% deficit? Not even close. And that's using more than double the power. Intel shills are shameless.
@@mojojojo6292 well they're clearly doing something wrong. I don't gain anything from lying about this, they do (paid to make their products look better). I've used all of the cpus I've listed for gaming and productivity. I've done timespy to benchmark all of them and all the AMD cpus score lower than intel 13th/14th gen.
What a hell of an upgrade. Putting the cache on the bottom must have done something. If the zen 6 3d has the same increase then we wont need another cpu for a looong time.
I’m sure game developers will keep creating games that demand more power 😄. The progress never ends - unless we enter another CPU stagnation period where (this time) AMD stops making significant improvements to CPU performance simply because Intel is no longer a threat.
Putting it on the bottom helped, but the real issue is that the Zen 5 compute chiplet seems to be bottlenecked by the I/O die it uses, which is the same I/O die (chiplet) used on the Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The extra cache clearly helps to alleviate this bottleneck, because the 9800X3D is able to significantly out-perform the 9700X in non gaming applications, achieving superior performance per clock cycle than the 9700X.
To accurately monitor CPU usage, expand the overlay to show each individual CPU core so you can check the usage of each one. Otherwise it can be misleading.
That's what the upcoming 9950X3D is for. If it has dual cache on both 8 cores it should be a beast without the garbage scheduling problems of the first one.
My 9800x3d stats are now showing up in Msi Afterburner are you using Hwinfo64 or something else to show your osd? Maybe you can make a video on OSD setup someday would be great! Thanks
In cyberpunk, if you have an amd cpu, the smt must be on and the crowd density set to medium. Otherwise, the cpu usage will be all over the place no matter what. Nice video👍
Hey man, thanks for the video. Why do you use cap frame x tho? Not only the software could potentially cause frame-time spikes it is also uses a lot of ram and cpu in comparison to using native rivatuner metrics.

i have updated my 12700K to the 9800x3d spended 1089 bucks but im not sure it was worthy, i mean some games profit from this cpu like delta force, but i have to deal with my mind if i need 40-50 fps more sometimes less.
Some said that Intel being smoother even when low performance ..they said Ryzen got some stutters and errors while gaming I wish u do a compsre4 with Intel in smoother gameplay and thx
You probably need tools and expertise on the level of Digital Foundry to notice something like this. I upgraded from the i7-14700KF to the 9800X3D, and after a week of gaming on the 9800X3D, I can’t feel any difference in gameplay smoothness. The same stutters occur in games that are prone to stuttering on any hardware, regardless of the brand. Meanwhile, games that ran smoothly for me before still run just as smoothly on the 9800X3D system. The 9800X3D provides noticeably higher FPS. That I can feel and it is much appreciated.
Reducing per core latency and increasing cache can only do so much. Dual channel memory bus of these desktop systems are being tapped out. They need to start offering consumer desktop systems with quad channel memory in order to break the current bottleneck.
@@theivadim I think they will be forced to at some point, as this bottleneck is starting to show its head in every new release currently. Stalker 2 is horrendous for it.
Impossibile in Hogwarts Legacy, either you have the frame generator active, or you have RT turned off, the 9800x3d does not do 140 fps with RT ON, without RT it even exceeds 250-300fps with 4090, but with RT to do 140 fps with those settings and a 4070ti s you must have FG ON. Yeah in CS2 with a 4090 at 4K minimum settings and FSR Performance mode I get 456-567 fps in the newly returned De_Train map with an undervolted 5425MHz 9800X3D. The GPU util is like 73-84% the 5090 will likely be able to turn on all the eye candy and still get the same numbers without upscaling
