ME - brought our groodle (goldendooodle) home two nights ago. Your vlogs are great and we’ve had success with everything we’re doing thanks to your tips.
As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
I got rlly lucky and left my dog home alone when he was young and he was fine and sometimes wants to be alone lol but to all those struggling good luck. I’m still coming to the premier lol.
Just as I saved this to watch later yesterday, he stopped crying in his crate-like completely. I put him in yesterday and he played with his toys in there and had a blast! Happy I’ll be able to say he’s crate trained in his first pupdate video.
I am so excited for this video!! I have been training dogs my whole life and always disagree with so many "experts" about how to train dogs, you're the first person I genuinely agree with and am always learning from!! I'm adopting a new puppy in a few weeks and cannot wait to try your tactics thank you so much!!
Gurrrrl this video could not have come at a better time 😓 I have a foster husky who has severe separation anxiety and have been so lost on what to do, this helps a lot.
getting a puppy soon! So thankful for your videos they have been helping me sm. With school I’m so worried abt if my pup will be ok and how to help him get comfortable being alone. you have been helping me feel so confident and in control abt how to do and what not to do. Thank u:)
Thanks for making the videos! I am becoming a first time puppy owner and picking up the puppy on August 20. I am taking a couple of days off. My wife and I decided that our son is older now to help with the dog! Out son is 7yrs old! He is really good with our friends dogs!
I've always left my dogs alone together! Just got 2 puppies September 29th brother and sister not quite 4 months old, we keep them in the kitchen together and not in a crate they roam free with their pee pads in a large flat pan, 2 make shift beds.... boxes from Costco and comfy pillows, toys too! Still working on the potty training and the boys a bitter.
I finally am able to use my cupcake tin I was gifted years ago 😅 Your tips have helped me so much and we just got our little fur baby yesterday. Thank you sooo much!
Our precious fur baby will be coming end of August. WE are checking out puppy hacks since it's been 12+ years since we've had a puppy. Excited to work with her on all these items we've learned watching ALL you videos.
Thank you for the video, it's so helpful. We've had our dachshund puppy for a month now. I'm extremely fortunate to have a boss that allows me to bring him to the office with me everyday, however I'd like to be able to leave him for an hour or two to hit the gym or have a date night with my hubby 🤞🤞
Thank you so much for this! I have been binge watching your videos lately. Unfortunately, we loss our dog recently. But, we have decided to get a new puppy we will be picking her up next month. It’s been a long time since we had a puppy in the house, so I have been watching your videos and finding out I did everything wrong before🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for such good info and advice!
Love your videos we just got a rescue, and he cries so much at night... the fosters let him sleep in the bed with them but I didn't want that at our place. It breaks my heart to hear him whimper and cry so much.
Please give your friend my great sympathy for her service dog ♥️♥️ I just lost my Dad and mini Staffy 2 months ago and I'm still crying missing my Staffy so I know you can feel the loss anytime ♥️♥️ My Staffy Rosie saved my life so we were pretty inseparable ♥️♥️ Thanks for all your advice ♥️♥️ I save all my animals ♥️♥️ I saved a tall lanky pitbull puppy who is about 10 months old from a shelter and she had almost NO training. You are saving my life ♥️♥️ I have trained many bully breed and other dogs but no PUPPIES he he ❤️♥️♥️
Hi Rachel thanks for your video. I have had my 3 month old Cavoodle puppy for just over a week. I have been on leave from work due to the holiday break. She is like a shadow following me around. I have however been trying crate training on her and it seems to be working for the most part. I have left her home aline while I've gonevp out for a couple of hours at a time in crate. She also sleeps in her crate through the night uninterrupted with no potty accidents. In fact there's only been 2 incidents indoors and I put that down to me not reading her body language. But she otherwise seems to have trained herself. I have put her favourite puppy bed in the crate along with a couple of other things and it seems to have settled her. I have difficulty with her wanting to being alone while I'm here such as at mealtimes outside at the back door for in the laundry. She tends to cry or whine if seperated by a door from her. However remarkably just now she's sitting at the backdoor calmly, not whining or crying for me. I want her to eventually want to be in the backyard independently. I will be returning to work next Monday but will try to çome home during the day. She will be created but I haveva playpen on the way as well. Least training is another issue. Anyway thanks again. I would welcome any advice or feedback from you. Sorry if I got a bit long winded. Cheers & happy New year 😊
This is a really informative video, my consideration was to wait until I retire and then get a dog, however as I work from home a lot now. I’m doing my research into what is required to give the right care to a dog when you still have to work. I did not grow up with a dog or any pets, so I’m doing loads of research. Thank you for this content.
Are they ok together in a puppy proofed room alone or in a crate together? What are the reasons to not leave them together? One of the things that motivated me to get a second dog is so they could be together when I'm gone (which will never be longer than 4hrs).
Wonderful as usual! We have a new pup (Mini GoldenDoodle) - 11 weeks old..weighs about 6lbs. Crate training going well but pen training not so good. If I’m in sight, no problem but if I’m not he will start whining (testing me) then ramp up to a bark followed by anger (pulling the pen back and forth with his teeth). I would love to nip this right away…so that when I leave for a half hour I would feel that he’s safe. Any suggestions?
Hi Rachel, I hope you are doing well. (Sorry this is long but with so much info. out there I am struggling with my new pups diet. He is eating well but is what I am doing okay or a no-no?) I just got my new Puppy Apollo last Monday so today was day 7 with him and he just turned 7 weeks old yesterday. The family that had the pups actually asked me to take him early because he was fully weaned, very confident, and well I wasn't sure about saying yes but I didn't want to say no, so I went with it and so far he has been amazing this week and looks happy and healthy. He is doing well with Potty training and really everything so far. The one big issues I am having is with him biting especially going after Shoes, Socks, loose clothing, and especially feet when walking near him. Because he is so young, he has little sharp teeth that really do hurt sometimes. _I have been watching all of your videos for tips and hacks and I am using the techniques like the Ouch and replace/redirect with something positive,_ but it has been slow going so far but I am, of course, highly motivated and ready to do whatever I need to. My biggest worry outside of the nipping and biting is his diet. I really love the idea of a Fresh Food Raw diet but it really is intimidating with so much information out there and just before getting him, I found tons of stuff that contradicted what I thought was going to be the method I went with. Even though I wanted to do the raw diet, I ended up going with what I could tell was a decently healthy kibble which is called Redford Naturals which is Pet Supplies plus store brand. I have been mixing in some tiny bits of the Stella and Chewy frozen raw food but I mix it in warm water then I have been mixing in blueberries, strawberries, banana, and today we tried watermelon. I read that broccoli is good for them so I may try that next. I have been hand feeding him this mix to help with the nipping and he really loves it. He was on Victor Pro Plus when he was with the family that he was born with so I took all last week to slowly move him to the new food. I am sorta feeling a bit defeated, to be honest. I really would have loved to do the all Raw fresh diet but it may not be in the cards for me so I was thinking the next best thing may be a decent kibble at least no crazy bad strange ingredients or tons of fillers or grains and then add in the raw and fresh stuff but then I read today that doing a mix is a bad thing because it confuses the digestion process so yeah, I do feel a bit defeated but I want him to grow strong. At this point, I would love to just know if I continue feeding this Redford Naturals Puppy food and mixing in the Stella and Chewy raw (it says its Raw Meat, Organ, and Bone) plus the fruits what else is he may be missing in his diet as a puppy to grow strong and healthy? *Are there any vitamins I should get or things that are a must?* Sorry to post such a long message here and I doubt you will have time to read it all and reply but maybe someone here in the community can help? *Any tips or advice is helpful esp. for his Diet.*
So proud that you’re adding fresh food to the bowl! Imo that’s a great first start! Don’t worry, good news is this usually starts to improve naturally as they age. To help, we used baby gates, playpens & crates to manage the environment and redirect. When Wally was a puppy, anytime he started lunging at our pants or biting our socks (if redirection didn’t work) we (gently & calmly) separated him from us. This is where baby gates can help! I am not a fan of using crates as “punishment” (in fact, I am not a fan of “punishment” in general), but sometimes removing myself from Wally would allow him to self soothe. Remember, puppies have a hard time self regulating, & often get more feisty the more tired they are. Without coping mechanisms learned yet, it’s on us to help them find “calm.” Gently placing them on the other side of a baby gate anytime they start to get nippy, allows puppies to lose that intense focus, settle, AND removes the “fun” part of puppy nipping - aka you! If you allow your puppy to continue the play biting behavior, they will be more likely to nip/chew. This is why I like to stop it right away by using a leash tether, redirecting + offering something they CAN chew, and/or using baby gates or playpens to separate & reset.
@@RachelFusaro Thank u thank u, great idea with trying to seperate him instead of just redirecting with words over and over esp. if he is really wound up and hyper. Everything you say in your videos when you talk about doing a Raw Fresh Diet makes so much sense to me. I truly do appreciate you taking the time to reply, I truly enjoy your style of videos, I just retain the info. so much easier. Thanks for what you do for all the damn dogs, have a great day and week.
I was one of those working at home, dog following all over owners (except the bathroom, as that's my space). We're now, at the age of 1yr 4 mo, working on him appreciating alone time. Got up to 10 minutes today without the dog crying/barking, which is a big win for us. He totally gets triggered by the door opening or closing (it's far too loud, nothing we can do about it) so I will definitely get one of those sound machines to help. I can't wait to be able to go out and leave him alone for an hour or two. It will be amazing. (currently paying for a dog sitter if my husband and I want to go out for the evening)
Ugh! Been trying your techniques. I'm a SAHM so don't leave unless hubby is home. Our baby is almost 7 months and still has anxiety. She loves her crate and goes in on her own all the time. But if everyone leaves she barks and howls. I watch on the camera. She hates being w/o people!
Rachel you should actually make a dog school were you bring the dog and the owner to the you dog school and teach them to be better. I’m sure you’d be the best teacher
Thank you for this video will be definetly something for me as Benji loves to bark at pretty much everything. He has severe anxiety but I have noticed it's easing a little bit and I was and I am lucky that Benji didnt and don't chew
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage thank you so much for your support it means loads to me seriously. He also don't pull any more on his leash so I'm really proud of my little boy
New rotty puppy here, 11 weeks, working w her everyday, crate trained, doing potty training going out every 30 min to 1 hour, hand feeding, She comes, sits , down , fetches,, 5- 10 min 3 x day. Problem, 1.chewing on wall corners 2. Biting, though it’s getting a little better How do we keep her from chewing on walls? Lots of different hard chew toys , swapping them out daily It’s day 3 of training and I am spending all week w her
Do you have any tips for teaching my dog to walk on a leash outside? we live in the city and whenever we try to go out she just standa there refusing to move :(
my dog is almost 6 months old and he cries and barks everytime we leave the house eventually he’ll go to sleep but i try as much to follow these tips but my parents always get too excited to see him and they don’t listen to me when i say this also, my dog always follows me everywhere but he hurt his leg so we do put him in his crate when he starts getting hyper so i’ll take advantage of that to try to crate train him! also he does sometimes like being alone when i’m home like he’ll just go do his own thing but he’s bad when we leave the house. i’ll be trying the rest of these tips!
We’re about to welcome our first puppy to our home. Been watching so many of your videos. We plan on being with him the first 8 days straight but then will have to go to work. I work 10 min from home so I can come during lunch but not sure if should keep him in crate or play pen. I’m sure he will need to potty when we are gone for 3-4 hrs ata time. Not sure what to do
Ugh my dog is a little over a year old ( a French bulldog)and we have been struggling to get her to stay home alone. I hope that we can still get there since she is older. We have been leaving her for a short period at a time and she does fine but it’s only like 5 min :(
I have an Airedale that's turning 5 months old. I cannot even go outside to take the garbage out without her going crazy. I've tried every piece of advice from different trainers without. Hired a trainer but he believes in using electronic devices which I disagree. I tried leaving her in the crate for very little time and she will not stop barking. Once I had to leave for an hourK and my neighbors said she didn't stop barking for one second. I have been bringing her everywhere I go but it's very inconvenient at times. She's very strong and is somewhat good on the leash until someone notices her and she gets so uncontrollably excited. I don't know what else I can do. She does like her crate and sleeps inside on her own accord. She is a very destructive dog and I have to watch her every move. She especially likes taking my personal items like apple watch, key fob which now I need to replace because I can't even start the car, every remote in the house is destroyed, plants etc. Almost everything is locked up in drawers but she still manages to still get things like all my sunglasses including my personal glasses as soon as I replace them she gets them again. I've had dog's my entire life but never experienced anything close to this. She's blocked off from the kitchen now because she turns the stove on and wipes off the counters. I know this is lengthy and you must likely can't respond so I guess I'm just channeling my brain. I can't even think straight anymore. Her eyes are staring at me as I write this as they always are. I bring her often to the dog beach which she loves and works off some energy but that's doesn't happen either. She runs around the house like it's a race track when we get home. I so am doing something wrong but don't know what. I do admit I spoil the crap out of her, she has enough toys for 3 dogs but my personal effects are far more desirable. Other than killing myself I know I'll never be at piece again
Thank you so much for the all the great videos Rachel! I just got my golden/lab mix puppy a month ago and I’ve been watching all of your videos for training advice. I’ve used his mealtimes to train him basic commands like sit, lay down and even shake paws. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to more amazing videos!
Rachael, I have learnt so much from your knowledge, delivery of the information and your invite. Can you tell me how to het my 14 week puppy from being in her crate with her toys during my meal time and all she will do is sit and stare at me during my entire meal. Is there something I can do to help with this?
Hi Rachel we absolutely love your channel. You have been a tremendous help in the short time about you. Thanks. HELP!!! Our 6 mo old puppy has an extremely, extremely sensitive stomach. He can eat almost no treats. Everything causes explosive diarrhea. Any suggestions?
My doodle was rehomed at 6 months and she’s so attached to me. She has so much trouble being alone. She is now 2-years old and it really is difficult to know she is so stressed when alone. Do you have more tips or other videos for older dogs?
Thank you so much! Rachel, do you have any suggestions on how to keep cat food away from dog food. We are getting a dog soon, and are looking for some suggestions, what are your thoughts?
Hi Rachael I have a question on the “Bark Box”. (Well, many questions, but I am learning from your videos TY)…..the treats in the bark box, are they all made with REAL ingredients??? I have my Paco on raw diet with dehydrated treats etc…..like you so before I join i wanted to check on that.
Hello from France ! I enjoy your videos so much. I have a 4 month old puppy that is a real pearl. She is learning so quickly, EXCEPT jumping. And although I have cut her nails, she really scratches. Any idea how to stop her? Thanks again.
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage Thanks so much. She already knows place, where I feed her. She is such a joy...sit, down, wait, and I've started teaching her touch. Will try that. Again thanks.
Agh we just got a puppy and he's beautiful. He was doing so well but by day 3 he developed an upset stomach just from the stress of changing homes. He's a stage 5 clinger and now I can't wear him out with food because he's lost his appetite. Day 4 has been really tough.
Hi, I don’t know if you’ll even see this comment. But i have been working remotely since i got my baby. He is 10months old now and my work model is changing to onsite. I still have about 2 weeks of time. Would he be able to stay alone for 8-9hours if I follow all the do’s and do not’s? Thanks in advance.
Ahhh I am definitely struggling with this. Our first pup is so good in his kennel, not as good when he’s out and about, but SO good in the kennel. Our new puppy is the opposite. She’s fine when she’s in the apartment but goes crazy in her kennel but will bolt in her kennel at night for bedtime & bolt in when we feed her in it. 😭
hey rachel should I get a male or female dog? I'd need to make a decision by some time tomorrow to bring home a new labradoodle pup. can you make a video as well? and help me right quick?
This is alot of I info! Lol but good stuff. Sooo I have 3 puppies that are 8 weeks old. What main training should I start them on during this age?I'm working on the crate which I give a treat when they go in and so far they don't cry and also having a schedule with them.
One puppy is already a lot but 3??? Big props to you, Im owning my first ever dog and it’s absolutely exhausting sometimes. Hope they are all doing well now!
Is your apartment haunted? I'm not sure if it's just a lens flare but something weird flies by the frame at 17:31 but yeah, i needed this video, thank you, my dog goes insane when i leave the house, that is why i have him in his crate, not roaming around the house alone at home, he just turned 1 and is a border collie :)
Thanks so much for this video, there are so many amazing tips! With having a puppy during the pandemic he’s became VERY dependent on me, I’ve spent basically his entire 7 months with every second of the way. Now whenever I leave him alone he cries non stop, literally for half an hour straight until I get back. This is now becoming a problem because I moved into an apartment so I can’t have him barking and crying the whole time. I have a noise machine and a room for him to stay in, we always go on walks to physically tire him out. I need to get some more brain stimulation toys for him to play with before I leave and while I’m gone. Are there any specific toys you give them when they are left alone to distract/ calm them down? How do I make the barking/ whining stop? I don’t want to get a bark collar because I know my dog is so smart and can learn on his own and I don’t want to hurt him but it’s becoming a major issue being in the apartment. Thanks so much!
Looking for info on how best to condition puppy to thunder and fireworks. I live in the Midwest and thunderstorms are common, not to mention Six Flags fireworks on the weekend. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Love your videos but something weird is up with the captions on this one! Did another video's caption file get pinned with this one? I'll keep watching in the meantime, though!
Rachel what would you suggest for me to do with 8 week old labadoodle when I go for a transfusion every 2 weeks from usually 8:00Ato 1:00P at a hospital, What would you suggest me to do when i put into his crate, I don"t wont him to have anything he could eat or choke on, Thank you Rachel,
We decided it was best for us to have our puppy stay in a playpen in the living room rather moving his large (not mobile) crate up and downstairs constantly. However, as he is growing he has figured out how to jump out of his playpen. Should I get a playpen cover? Or when do I know it’s time for him to stay in the living room area when we are gone?
LOL, the keys idea is great. I would definitely need to get AirTags for my keys first. I have a difficult time finding my keys without moving them 5 times a day :)
How often do you give them alone time? My dog is 5 months and has some separation anxiety already. I'm trying to incorporate more alone time but I also don't want him to feel like he's being neglected. I try to have a big play time with him in the evening and when he first wakes up but how much of the day should they be alone?
When leaving the house I try not to be gone for more than ~4-5 hours at a time. For mini breaks throughout the day, I try to make sure my dogs are separate from me 3x daily for ~10-15 mins
Rachel Thank You ! I just got a Yorkie and she's only 9 wks old. I did that mistake of letting her follow me every where for a wk and omg, now she cries and doesn't let me do nothing. I work from home and tie her on the leash and still she acts up. she start to bite on the leash. I still don't understand why. She also doesn't want to eat if I am not feeding her. I take her out side and she doesn't potty out side and once I walk in within the half hour she right aways potty in the house. omg
Hi Rachel im loving your videos. Ive just found you. I have a problem last week i got an 11 week old Sprocker Spaniel. Shes one of a litter of 9. I think shes been being pushed out of the way at feeding times as she is skin and bone, which im addressing. shes gulping the food down, and im vot sure of how else to sort it, im using a slow feeder bowl. The problem is that the breeder got the 1st vaccinations done, but missed the second dose by 1 week. I cannot get a vets appointment until 15th Jan 2022. I dont have a private garden its communial as i live in a block of flats and the are other dogs that use it. I have had a few dogs before Lexxie and have trained them all perfectly, so my worry is i cant take Lexxie out to potty train shes doing great with that in only a couple of days of having her im worried that shes late and at the moment missing out on socialisation . Her 1st appt for vaccine is 15/1/22 & the second being 5th of februay. Cant you suggest anything. I live in Scotland and am right in the counryside. Ive never had this situation before. I cant think of a way to get her out before the vaccines
Hi Rachel. Love your videos. I've got a 6 month Bernedoodle who used to love being in her crate. We never used to have any issues with her in the crate until now. For some reason she will not go in her crate and if we do manage to get her in there, all she does is pace back and forth inside, cries and gets stressed. Do you think we need to start her crate training all over again from scratch?
Your gonna need to start over but it won’t be as hard u may start for the beginning and half way through it just clicks and u don’t need to keep training gl tho
Hey Kris!! Thank you for the ❤️. Yes I’d start at square one and remember most puppies go through a fear stage around ~6 months of age - so you will often see regression. But it’s worked really well for me when I start back at step one, and gradually increase my asks/steps This sounds normal based on the age, or, something could’ve spooked your pup. A different crate or even moving it may help!
I'm a new Morkie mommy to Bentley. Love your labs name by the way(wink wink) I just wanted to say thank you for being so meticulous with your videos. They are helpful. I've only had him a week and already I have started some bad habits with him. He's attached to me at the hip. How do I reverse this and his extreme anxiety. I cannot take off work to get this under control
me I just got Finn 2 days ago he is 16weeks and hates the crate and hates when im not around he is doing really good on potty training but not so much the crate
But I will also say that for my retire service dog. Anyway, I do add fresh green beans, peas, yogurt, almost anything he'll eat which is a lot of gold and that's pretty easy but I do want him to get real food in there
I have a rescue who is 5, she doesn't like to play I have been working on this for a yr. She also does come with me pretty much everywhere which is difficult but she barks forever when I walk out the door. She has very bad anxiety with storms, noise, and when I leave and I can't seem to break this.
Hi Rachel! I just got a puppy a few days ago and have been binging your videos like crazy because I want to do right by her! I just wanted to ask, when I give her alone time (which I’m aiming to do around 3-5 times a day) should I play with her beforehand a bit or just go for it whenever (like after a nap or feed)? When do I know to go from a 15 min alone time to a 1 hour break?? Also there’s 2 places where we’ll leave her alone when we go out (depending on how long no one will be home for) so how do I best manage between training her to get comfortable being alone in both spaces? Is that achieveable or should I just choose one? I feel bad because she whines a lot but I really want to make sure she doesn’t develop separation anxiety when my family and I go back to school and work because we’ve been stuck inside due to lockdown. Love your videos thank you so much for all your help 💕💕
U can definitely do two places just train in the place that for shorter times first and definitely playing with them first and making sure there fed but have gotten a chance to go out and also make sure u leave stimulation toys with your pup and food and water ofc gl
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage thank you so much I will do!! Do you think I should stick to like 15-20 mins each time or like how do I know when I should leave her for like an hour vs like 10 minutes??
@@lianna4219 you can do the first Time for like 10 minutes and do that until your dog is fine with it then u can go to 15 min and keep increasing it by 5 minutes until there fine with like 4 hours that way U can do 1 hour one day and 10 minutes the next day and your pup will be fine good luck your gonna do great and glad I could help
Thank you so much for this video! I literally rely on your channel to train my dog. I just have a question is there any toys you would recommend for heavy chewers?
Hi Rachel, love all your videos! I was wondering if you had a suggestion for pups that aren’t food motivated? I’ve tried the lick mats, muffin tin hack and a couple other food type things when I leave, but my dog barely eats his two meals a day even with us home so he definitely doesn’t eat while we’re gone. He doesn’t get super anxious when we leave (watch him on camera) but I’d like to leave him with something he enjoys just so he’s not so bored while left alone. Any suggestions would be super helpful. Thank you!
I think your pup doesn’t like his food just change his food (slowly so he doesn’t get sick ofc) my dog would never eat his food but I changed his food and now he loves it
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage I wish that’s what it was! He’s a 9 month old mini goldendoodle and we’ve changed his food 4 times already. Now he’s on Ollie fresh food and he will eat that but it’s still a battle sometimes lol. Thanks for the suggestion though!
I’m in the same boat. Very hard to train my Mini Bernedoodle because she is not food motivated. She’ll eat her meals but not any treats. She is very smart but also stubborn, lol.
I just got a new puppy and have been doing lots of research and I watched one of your other videos about not letting your dog out of your sight and to let them explore small portions of the house at a time when first introducing them to the house also I know it's important for our dogs to have a bond with us but now I am worried about separation anxiety how should I go about this?
Yes yes! And it’ll take awhile to re-condition so stay patience and consistent. Rewarding when they’re quiet after keys make a noise is huge. You got this!
I am at a breaking point with my 12 week old Scottie, she screams everytime we put her in the crate or play pin and leave, even though we have tried everything (feeding her in it, Kong treat, tons of toys, sleep machine, classical music, brain games) and she just cannot handle it. Plus still, 4 weeks into owning her, she wakes up every hour of every night screaming in her crate. We need help
Hello! I just found your channel and love you and your content! We are getting a lab puppy next Sunday! I can’t wait to use all your training tips ☺️ I did have one question and wanted your advice! We have a older pup here and she is a grazer with her food. I’m not sure what we should do with her food bowl because I don’t want the pup eating her food. What are your thoughts?
My 8 months does not touch his toys or treats when he is left alone. He whines sometimes when i cordon him off while i do some housework and tries to escape the baby gate when left alone!

My dog cries every time I place in his crate. Any suggestions? Thanks Rachel
The little clips of Wally as a baby really shows how fast time flies by! I also really enjoy how you shared so much great information
You never miss a beat. So good chatting today
Just as I saved this to watch later yesterday, he stopped crying in his crate-like completely. I put him in yesterday and he played with his toys in there and had a blast! Happy I’ll be able to say he’s crate trained in his first pupdate video.
Yay congrats u did it u made the crate Disneyland
This is fantastic!!! Way to go 👏

I am so excited for this video!! I have been training dogs my whole life and always disagree with so many "experts" about how to train dogs, you're the first person I genuinely agree with and am always learning from!! I'm adopting a new puppy in a few weeks and cannot wait to try your tactics thank you so much!!
I agree so much there experts but I feel like there tips won’t work for my dog cause there dogs are perfect good luck your gonna doing great
Let’s go! So glad to hear you’re adopting!! #SAVEALLTHEDAMNDOGS
Love that we have connected 🥰
Gurrrrl this video could not have come at a better time 😓 I have a foster husky who has severe separation anxiety and have been so lost on what to do, this helps a lot.
Thanks for this! My pup is 9 weeks I’ve been teaching her to be by herself and it seems to be working. I’m excited to see what you’ve done!
That’s amazing good luck

Thanks for making the videos! I am becoming a first time puppy owner and picking up the puppy on August 20. I am taking a couple of days off. My wife and I decided that our son is older now to help with the dog! Out son is 7yrs old! He is really good with our friends dogs!
Hi! How did it go? Was your son able to help with the puppy? My son is 7 and we are considering getting a puppy for him as an only child.
Can’t wait for this one!! So stoked with how many videos you’ve been putting out this week Rachel!!

Omg I needed this I just got a bulldog a few days ago and school starts in 3weeks
*Are there any vitamins I should get or things that are a must?*
Sorry to post such a long message here and I doubt you will have time to read it all and reply but maybe someone here in the community can help?
Without coping mechanisms learned yet, it’s on us to help them find “calm.”
Gently placing them on the other side of a baby gate anytime they start to get nippy, allows puppies to lose that intense focus, settle, AND removes the “fun” part of puppy nipping - aka you!
Good luck your making great progress

Do you have any tips for teaching my dog to walk on a leash outside? we live in the city and whenever we try to go out she just standa there refusing to move :(
Thank you!
Thank you for your posts. Can you explain the point of the having the dogs 'touch' your hand?
my dog is almost 6 months old and he cries and barks everytime we leave the house eventually he’ll go to sleep but i try as much to follow these tips but my parents always get too excited to see him and they don’t listen to me when i say this also, my dog always follows me everywhere but he hurt his leg so we do put him in his crate when he starts getting hyper so i’ll take advantage of that to try to crate train him! also he does sometimes like being alone when i’m home like he’ll just go do his own thing but he’s bad when we leave the house. i’ll be trying the rest of these tips!
Not sure what to do
U can connect the crate and play pen that way three can go pee on the potty mat and sleep in the crate just use zip ties to connect the two
Ugh my dog is a little over a year old ( a French bulldog)and we have been struggling to get her to stay home alone.

What are you using for treats
ME - Diggs crate is on the way! I wrote in your name as where I heard about it - because it is true!
Hi ! When you leave your puppy alone for 8hours.... and the puppy is 3 months old, do you leave him in the crate or in a room ?
Can you make a video on tips or products to get rid of the dog smell in your house

I’m about to get a puppy 😊 thank you so much
But it’s worked really well for me when I start back at step one, and gradually increase my asks/steps
This sounds normal based on the age, or, something could’ve spooked your pup.
Anyway, I do add fresh green beans, peas, yogurt, almost anything he'll eat which is a lot of gold and that's pretty easy but I do want him to get real food in there
great info
Hi tend to take breaks from the puppy so I lend him to my sister for a while to take care of him does that count as leaving him?(He doesn't see me)
I have a rescue who is 5, she doesn't like to play I have been working on this for a yr.

@@Persassyproduction_fanpage u are a lifesaver thank you so much I’m definitely going to try that out!!! ☺️❤️
Ive heard other trainers say sometimes redirecting could be rewarding the bad behaviour? What do you think?!
Love your videos
Thank you so much for this video! I literally rely on your channel to train my dog. I just have a question is there any toys you would recommend for heavy chewers?
Definitely anything by kong
The black kong is the best for heavy chewers xx

What do I do if my puppy is protecting his crate. He loves being in it but sometimes he growls at my other dogs if they get close to his crate?
Does anyone know which size crate Rachel has for the mini doodle? I want to buy one, but I'm unsure which size to get. I have a mini doodle too :3
Is it easier to train older dog or younger? (like puppies)
It’s easier to train younger dogs cause there still developing so they pick up things faster
Is Wally an Australian Labradoodle or just a Labradoodle, also how much does he weigh?
He ways around 40 pounds
I just got a new puppy and have been doing lots of research and I watched one of your other videos about not letting your dog out of your sight and to let them explore small portions of the house at a time when first introducing them to the house also I know it's important for our dogs to have a bond with us but now I am worried about separation anxiety how should I go about this?
I have a 6 week old pup and at night we put him in his crate and he keeps us up all night long do you have any tips for me
When do I leave the dog in the crate with the mat and toy ..and when do I leave the dog in the crate with nothing in it?
Great info, keep up the terrific information!
Awh that means a ton thanks kindly!
ME! My puppy always tries to drag the crate pad out of his crate...how do I deal with this behavior?
My one dog starts barking as soon as he hears my keys! I will start practicing picking up my keys throughout the day to desensitize him to it
Yes yes! And it’ll take awhile to re-condition so stay patience and consistent. Rewarding when they’re quiet after keys make a noise is huge. You got this!
thank you you have some really educational information but you talk so fast it was really hard to keep up with you. G’day from Australia 🇦🇺 😊
I'm getting a puppy in 5 days. I hope this helps
Woo! 🥳
how many days did it take to train your dog? Also I love your videos & your dogs lol
Training never stops as Rachel has mentioned before u train from the day u get them to the day they are able to train

Hand feeding rlly helps with food motivation also doing it in a slow feeder lick mat snuffle mat also helps gl
My 8 months does not touch his toys or treats when he is left alone. He whines sometimes when i cordon him off while i do some housework and tries to escape the baby gate when left alone!
Same and he’s 4 months! 🤦🏻♀️
I live in an apartment and my dog barks every single time someone pass by, she gets so angry and scary. She’s like 5-6 months, what can I do?
