I've looked at over 8 videos on how to stop puppy biting. You are the only one who provided the key: Hand feeding your puppy. It then associates hands with food and knows not to nip. Made a huge improvement in 1 day!
So happy to help!! ❤️❤️
@@RachelFusaro Unfortunately it hasn't lasted and if he does stop nipping me to eat his food he'll then turn around and nip my pant cuffs.
Have you seen Zac George? He is an amazing trainer. He teaches dogs with out physical punishment.
@@RayneRiverstone yessss Zak is my idol
For the love of God .. I hope this works!
Sadly most puppies react to the "ouch!" with excitement, they dont understand or care that you've made a noise.
When I say OUCH really loud when mine bites he gets even more excited and aggressive 😭 it’s a never ending cycle in this house. Very difficult
In that case I’d remove yourself (or the puppy). By removing the thing your puppy wants to bite, you’re removing the ability to practice that behavior 🙃
@@RachelFusaro when I remove myself she’ll go to that table leg she loves biting 😞
my puppy does this too!! He thinks its a game or something 😤
@@yoylos3p then remove the puppy
You have to beat your dog.
LITERALLY call my pup LAND SHARK! I’ve had him for two weeks and we starting working day one. He is 9 weeks now, and he’s already WAYYYY better about nipping. He knows his name, sit, stay and down!
HOW did you do it
My puppy know sit and down. But nip nip is her favorite. Wish I knew how to stop her.
Day four of owning a puppy and after 6 breakdowns I def need to go meditate and check my energy.
No joke
Haha, Chantal. I just watched this video on MY day 4. I have TWO yellow labs (sisters) 8 weeks old. I'm wondering how you're doing 6 months after your post. 🙂
@@pilgrim5736 oh my word he’s still difficult AF but he’s literally the best thing. I’m so glad I didn’t return him. At about 3-4 months we started to become a team. Now we come as a package deal and he’s my ride or die. Just started a tiktok for him to share all the crap I have to deal with on the daily because he is such a character, and he still does make me cry but I’d cry harder if I was ever without him.
@@pilgrim5736 TWO!? Oh I’m sending prayers.
50 times a day, I’ll be old before my time!
Raising a puppy is as much work as raising a baby these days 😂
The thing about babies is that they don't bite! 😂
Omg- I agree- my new puppy is so wild! And he weighs 4.7 pounds. My husband laughs as I scream at him biting my toes, ankles and dragging behind me holding on to my pant leg- or swinging from my skirt😳. She makes it look easy- my puppy Noodle would have her standing on a chair😂😂( kidding Rachel is amazing)

I cant stop watching your channel even though my labradoodle isn't born yet
Me too we are adopting from a breeder
@@_.ChildOfGod._ same mine was actually just born a few days ago
Same here! I’m waiting for my unborn miniature poodle 😂🤣
Waiting for my soon to be 8 week old golden doodle I will be getting her sometime next week so excited I can’t wait
Haha same! I’m waiting for a gsp pup🐶 should be soon
I got a puppy about 4 weeks ago and we have been trying to stop his biting so this video is sooo great thank you ☺️
As always, more great info from Rachel! My Finnie, Riley, and I love watching you and I’m always implementing your tips with my not so little 16wk old Newfie/Great Pyr boy. Looking to pick up a Diggs crate this weekend - as he’ll be 40lbs in the next two weeks and quickly outgrowing his little house we picked up. I dug out our traditional wire crate from only 6 years ago (which was very lightly used) & it’s already full of rust. Can’t wait to get the groove tool as well. I hope they sponsor you - I’m sure you’re aiding them in a lot of sales 😊 Much love to you all!
Thank you so much! Teaching the dog gentleness from eating from under the thumb taught my puppy boundaries with how hard to bite down. Really appreciate you!
I'm in love with your channel! so easy to understand and your dogs are all so adorable!
Thanks so much for your content!! I have spent three mealtime training sessions hand feeding and setting a marker command with our new pup. He is such a quick learner!
We now have him taking food with his tongue and sitting with all fours on the ground before taking food.
I'm encouraging my partner (as it's his pup) to hand feed, stick to his feeding and pooping schedule and tbh he seems more overwhelmed than the pup at how much is really involved if we want a well-behaved obedient dog with no bad habits!! We are being trained more effective ways to teach as well as the pup himself and your methods are so very effective if we stay consistent! Ty!
Everytime I said ‘Ouch’ loud, my puppy barks at me 😂
Mine does the same thing 🤣
Mine too😅
Mine to. So I started barking at her. She’s shook🤣
Mine too
bark at them
Your videos are absolutely saving my life now. I have a 12 week old rescue puppy and these tips are so helpful. I have not had a puppy in 20 years and RUclips wasn't a thing then! Thank you so much!
Such an amazing and helpful video as always! This channel is honestly the best ☺️
So awesome that you have your little puppy brother!! These videos have been so helpful! I have an almost 10 week old puppy who just started being very mouthy and nippy so im so glad you upload these videos in like “real time” to what im going through!! 🤍
These are some tricks that I will never thought of ever, THANK YOU!!
Hai Rachel , You can always find hope in your dog’s eyes.❤️❤️❤️
I'm getting my Chocolate Lab pupper in February! Your videos show so many refreshing training techniques and im literally taking notes of them.
Omg he's so cute and fluffy 🙊 thanks for this. I've had dogs for years but I'm getting a puppy once covid calms down. Very welcome refresher on the puppy side of things 🤗 it's so easy to forget the little things 14 years down the line. Positive starts are essential for success, bonding and overall pup psychology health
Thank you for this video, like seriously. I don't want my new puppy biting me, nor jumping up etc.
I have been hand feeding my puppy from the first meal thanks to you.(its been one week) the OW thing REALLY works and I have been using the YES command. You are SO HELPFUL ! Thank you so much. He really takes me seriously. Today we had friends come over though and he tried to chew on them so more work to be done.... but he does realize biting mom is not okay. Thank you for all your videos you are awesome.
I have watched many puppy videos, I got my first pet at age 78. I got my puppy at 6 weeks of age, he is now 12 weeks. He bites me all of the time. He is not completely potty trained, and deliberately pees and poops right next to pad. I love your easy to follow videos. Thank You!
I can not wait Rachel!!!❤️❤️❤️
I’ve got an 8 week old German Shepard puppy and he’s been such a little nipper he’s a lot of work but he’s so adorable!
This worked like a charm! My puppy is 6 months now (I know it’s a little late.) But I tried to stop her biting since she was 3 months. I tried so many methods and this one only worked. Thank you so much!
This was such a good video! I’m taking notes, my little boy Bear the Labrador is coming home for the first time in less than two weeks!!! 🥰
I started watching a video or two of yours yesterday and I applaud what you are doing!!! This channel is very helpful.
This helped us so much! We just got a boxer and he is 7 weeks old. This is not our first dog but it’s been years since we last had a dog. So thank you!
Hello Rachel!! I just wanted to tell you that your videos are so amazing and so helpful! Now that Wally (the cutest puppy ever) has come into your life he has totally changed your channel! I love your videos and PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING VIDEOS!! Thank You so much for everything and I can't wait to see you hit 200k!
Btw I LOVE how you communicate with us in the live chat!! Also, are you going to do a 100k subscribers special? Thanks again! -Turkey
Her energy is very HIGH! I feel anxious just watching!
Hi Rachel! I’m bringing a labradoodle puppy home in December and I can NOT wait! I wanted to know if you can make a video with Wally about setting a daily routine for a new puppy and showing how to schedule it. That’d be so helpful!
How is she??
I remember when you did this video with Fin, I’ve been a supporter for so long! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Fin
I still don't have a puppy but I sooooooooo enjoyed watching!!!!
Super helpful and super cute!!!!
Hi Rachel, We love your passion and knowledge thank you so much for all you do!!
Thank you! ☀️
This is awesome. I will try this for my 10-week old puppy Gabe.
Thank you so much for this training! I’m getting a puppy in February and plan to use this with him/her.
Thank you so much Rachel! 🐾
Can't wait for the premiere!
These videos are so helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for this great vid! My puppy is 8 weeks & he’s potty trained luckily but he’s a biter and it’s getting progressively worse. I’m gonna try using your tips for the weeks to come 😅
Thank you so much I find your explanation so relatable, I appreciate your videos!
5:13 awe his walk is soooooooooooooo adorable
Hi Rachel I got a new puppy and she is five days old and in this video you’re teaching me so much of how to teach my puppy not to bite
This really helps. Thank you! I will try this to our new puppy
whenever my labradoodle pup gets excited (usually after pooping or using the restroom) she starts attacking whatever she sees (shoes, balls, blankets, my pants, my fingers, my legs, etc) I tried yelping or saying ow but yelping worked a little better. When I said ow she just keeps biting even harder. It's a little frustrating but puppies are a LOT of fun!! This is her 4th day home and she already knows sit, lay down, roll over, and touch!! She's also potty trained and is getting so much more comfortable with her crate!!
I don't get my new puppy until October at best so all I can do is wait and prepare. So I have a lot of time to learn everything I can from your great videos.
Your videos are amazing and so helpful!!!
Thank you for this awesome and informative vlogs. I am getting my Labradoodle tomorrow and soo glad I watched a few clips on hour puppy training. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😀
Hi Rachel! At last I found you for information about puppy biting. Real good advice.🌸👌✌️
Thank you! ☀️
You are a very good teacher. I just subscribed and am looking forward to learning more. Thank you.
These tips are brilliant, good stuff.
Thank you sooo much for your videos!!! We recently got the most adorable Cavapoo and your videos have been life savers!!! Thank you 😊!!
My family is getting a Labradoodle in a few months. I’ve been watching your videos and taking notes! My kids have always wanted a dog, but I have no experience. I’m hoping studying beforehand will help. My house is already baby proof so I’m hoping that helps the transition a bit!
He's adorable 😍
I can't get my 11 week old puppy to stop biting . He bites everything . I have never experienced biting so bad . Believe me I listen to every word you say. You are wonderful . ❤
I’m getting a puppy Jan 1st and I am literally so thankful for your videos.

Very very informative!!!!
Thank you just got a puppy and this helped so much
This is gonna help me a lot
My puppy is a 11wk old morkie, his name is Paddington... I spent several weeks watching all your videos in preparation before bringing him home and cannot tell you how great it's been! I fully puppy-proofed my apartment a week in advance and had everything ready for him the day we brought him home... we let him explore the living room and within the 1st 30 minutes, he'd found his crate, taken a toy into it and proceeded to play with it inside. Your crate introduction method had worked like a charm! That 1st night was the only time he cried a bit before falling asleep but since then, he does bedtime without any problems, sleeping in his crate through the night and calmly waits every morning to be let out... it's been a month now and bedtime is a breeze😇
Been also following your potty training method and he's taking to that extremely well as well... following your videos has proven super successful in everything so far!
Now for the past week, he's definitely been riding the nipping phase hard, so I've been using the redirection method... but he is one seriously relentless nipper and we haven't had much success in getting him to stop. Gonna start including the nap/time out approach and see if that helps.... wish me luck!😬

How did you potty train him 😭😭 my puppy gets way too distracted outside . and keep sniffing finding everything to eat that shouldnt be eaten it’s frustrative . i come inside he does it . potty training worked 4 days maximum wirh little accidents . Since I put the leash on it’s it’s like she forgot everything
We are picking up our corgi pit later today hopefully and these videos are so helpful thank you, we already have a shipoo
Great information and presentation.
You are absolutely amazing!
Will follow this! I got my 8 week Boston terrier today and he’s such a cutie. I named him Bruno :D I will for sure use your tips!!!
Getting a puppy soon and your videos are so helpful, and make the idea of getting a puppy way less intimidating. I have literally watched 15 of your videos in 2 days.
Thank you some much for your dog video it really helps me out a lot.
You are brilliant, thank you for this insight
I got a new puppy a week ago, and I'm having a hard time getting her to settle down and focus on me when trying to train her 😓
🐕 Thanks Rachel, my 8 week Mini-Labradoodle is killing me with her bitting. I switched from the Chihuahua’s. Totally different breed.
Hi! we just got an F1b mini golden doodle and your videos have been so helpful- she’s 11 weeks and this video came in time 😭 we are trying to get her to stop biting. She is sweet and sleeps a lot but then gets moments where she starts nipping at everything 🙈
i have a 6 months old corgi mix but she hasn't had biting issues when she was teething but i got another pup she is 2 month old and she is biting a lot thank u so much for this vid
Thank you so much this really helped my dog stop biting me

Hi Rachel I absolutely love this channel you inspire me and help me a lot Tysm!
Day 1 with my puppy has been successful due to your helpful tips and tricks 🖤 thank you so much !
Thank you 😊
Omg yes this is the vid I’ve been waiting for 😃
Your videos are so helpful. I’m about to have my first puppy, and even though I’ve worked with shelter dogs for years I’m not so confident in my puppy training knowledge. Thank you!!
This was great.
My puppy has the exact same dragon toy and loves it lol
Hes so cute
Getting a new puppy. Finally. And I'm so nervous haha
Also so! New SUB!
You are a good trainer 😁👍
Great ideas, our puppy Cookie 🍪❤️🐶 is 10 weeks and we are working through this. She’s teething so she wants to chew/bite to play. But we are training her not to bite our hands/kids hands. We do a loud noise, and give her a toy instead.
I believe you the best I love your approach
Thank you for another informative video! I live in Seattle and was surprised to not find a supplier for The Bones & Co food. Do you know if there are any in the PNW area? Thank you!
Thank you soooo much! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
hi! i had a question: how do we make sure our new puppy doesn’t adopt bad habits from the current dog who lives with us? i’m getting a new puppy in a week, but my roommate has a rescued husky who does have some bad behavior/habits
We had a similar situation in our place and had to agree as a “Family” that we would get the dogs on (mostly) the same schedule and with mutually agreed upon standards. My dog and I had stricter rules than my roommate and his but we always made sure that their style didn’t interrupt ours, and also respectfully our style didn’t interrupt theirs.
Keep the communication, patience and invitation going with your Roomate & Husky because you’re all part of the same Pack now one way or the other!
I used the ‘yip’ and turned away when Yeti was young. It helped so much. I didn’t give him a toy to play with though. Isn’t that like a reward for them biting you? Or, is it used to encourage them to bite and chew their toys?
I think it's used to encourage them to bite their toys
It's redirecting the biting to the toy. It's normal for them to want to bite, so redirecting is good
Its used to enguarge them to chew the toy instead of u
The toy is used primarily to teach the marker word 'YES'
We got Goldendoodle puppy and we wanted to solve puppy bites. Thank you for great advice🙏
I met you in Fort Wort Texas a few years back at Three Dog Bakery. I also have recently moved to Portland from Texas this year. I have a border collie resuce and blue heeler rescue. Bender and Finnley.
Very informative, and quick to get to the point! Almost every other dog trainer has pointless nonsense for the first 4 minutes of their video.
Great timing I just found out about nipping today
I watched another one of your informative videos about hand feeding. Do you have to handfeed wet food? or can it be dry food as well to help with the biting?
Those dragon toys are a favorite
