As a tall person, it's the reason why I never bend down suddenly when talking with someone shorter than me. It's creepy as hell. Plus, depending on how long the conversation is, it can hurt the back. Much easier to just pick up the short person until we're at eye level.

What happened with the creepy lady was probably the scariest. Nothing was ever explicitly said in game but it was heavily implied that he was assaulted. I felt so empty after watching that part, the poor boy.

Reminds me of Dante's inferno a bit, each resident housing a different sin (old man might be wrath, plenty of lust, the bully could be envy maybe, etc.) along with a mostly normal person near the exit (hell goes down, but apartments go up, see?)

The top floor older person is a neutral figure that judges you, and the bottom floor is a ignorant mortal.

Same! I usually can predict what happens in these games pretty easily, but I had no idea how this one would build up the horror. I personally wouldn't have jumped to the' cannibalism in the food' conclusion, I was honestly guessing poisoned food or something. And I definitely wouldn't expect a character like that creepy pedo lady: she's absolutely deplorable, so that's a memorable villain for sure.

I think the way the characters lean over the play character is more terrifying. Separating their head from their body and eanlargening, instead of just using a single image, was a great trick.

Reminds me of that Greek story where a lady serves her children to their dad for revenge. Or something like that…there are a disturbing amount of stories that involve children eating in Greek tales.
Yeah, there is also one where the lady was supposed to cook animal meat (pigeon meat I think) but she ended up cooking one of her breasts and serving it to her husband, who after that liked human meat and they decided to cook their children. I don't remember the ending though.

You just die from her if you dont move. Simple as that. I know since I watched someone else play this and obeyed , and so the woman goes out and stabs you with the knife she had out.
You still die, but the dialogue's different. She goes "That's for tricking me into ..." (I forgot the rest lol)

Now this is the horror games I enjoy. No cheap jumpscares but instead simple and creepy game in musical and graphical aspect.
It has the vibe that behind every door is a junji ito one shot.

Also, it would have been interesting to see if she actually didn't kill you if you stood still like she asked. Maybe just different death dialogue.

The minute she said "don't be like your father" I knew she chopped him up. Poor kid 😭 should have let him just play his TNMT home port edition.
Game seems pretty good. I like how we're playing as a very small child so everyone looks like monsters or creatures depending on who the child likes and dislikes.
The character art, atmosphere and the way the characters loom over you makes everything feel very chilling. I like it.

I seriously laughed hard enough IRL that my roommate asked me if I was okay.
Okay, yeah, this game definitely needs a sequel or a continuation. My only ideas for it would be the child you play as getting older and being forced to do more labor while confronting their creepy neighbors; and they either manage to leave the apartment and achieve a good life or inevitably become corrupted and end up one of the neighbors.

So, what i take is that the woman taking shower was lover of the kid's dad, and his mom turned him into leftovers, then when she found out she went on rampage? So, the good ending is giving away mom to the old man Sans so she can burn in hell
Yeah but she killed her husband because he was cheating on her and the person he was cheating with was also a murderer, so giving her to the old man is not a good ending.
So is the old man's wife related to them? What's the point in telling us how his wife died? Did the mom kill his wife?

I love the subtle plot twist as the game makes you think mom is a psycho murderer but basically everyone in the building is insane and mom likely had a breakdown trying to cope with her terrible neighbors and cheating husband

It’s overwhelmingly interesting how this game is not based on a single villain. It seems like the whole complex is acting weird with the behalf of the main villain like the woman who had an affair with Kenneth. Something like what I’m planning to make in the future
There were few redeemable characters, and the implied molestation brought me personally back to a place I thought I was stronger than. I was a child who was molested for a long period of time when I would have been this short, and small, by a close family friend. The *sniff sniff* dialog was just visceral in how dark this child's reality was getting.
I still wonder what did the old man's wife do to deserve death, it's not clear if he killed his wife or if Kenneths mom killed her, given his speech on murders it's odd. But again the old man seems that he deserves a fleshed out ending, as he tells Kenneth he will be safe, that he will end his mother's insanity....
But yeah, the darkness in this game, it's real darkness not anything anyone was ready for. Because it not only makes you a child, but makes you feel like it.

YOU PSYCHO BITCH” which means she told her that she murdered the husband, and his lover in a fit of rage attempts to kill the boy…. which is honestly a dumb way to deal with the situation

I’d like to think that when old man with the knife brings him in his apartment he thinks of raising the boy to be a better person.

Another one of those games that makes me feel absolutely visceral emotions. I absolutely felt the fear and unease of the boy you play as, as well as the despair of having no one around to protect you, not even your mother. And as an outsider to this story, I felt so much sadness for this fictional boy. The fact that one of the few tenants I felt even moderately protected by was an old man who can stab you to death is… certainly something…
All those feelings aside, the art style is absolutely prime. Once again, I really feel like I’m looking through the eyes of a vulnerable and frightened child, and it’s really cool to see “head nodding” and “head shaking” mouse movements implemented as actual game mechanics.

That was a really good game i liked the artstyle and the plot and the characters were all so well written... It reminded me of a korean series that i was watching (Strangers from hell) where a guy also has a lot of strange and creepy neighborhoods (and there is also people eating murdered people too).
But this game makes it even more interesting since you play as a kid, which make everything more scarier hahaha
Also the yes or no questions were a nice touch too
i havent watched the series, but i did read the original webtoon! this game does give me the same vibes

i don't like horror games that much since i'm sensitive when it comes to dark content but this guy has a way of making it so soothing... sometimes i put a long video and sleep to the sound of it

that creepy woman tho... it doesnt seem like anything explicit was said but assuming from the looks of that woman and the reaction of the boy, he was probably assaulted.
that creepy lady gave me bad vibes from the start. when she asked the kid to come in i was like "oh good god no" but when the kid came out of her house again...i think i had an idea of what happened :[
The way manly read "good luck dear" make it sound like the mom is sending the kid to his death purposely.
