Yeah, this is absolutely a tribute to Lobotomy Corp. Perfectly fine with that too, as this is quite good on its own. The monster's design is nice, the gameplay is simple enough that repetition isn't a deal breaker, and the ending has a nice surprise for you that doesn't feel cheap.

It wasn't really a surprise if you were paying attention earlier, the subject mentioned that you were one of the monsters. "You're lucky you look like that! If you looked like me, they'd find you easier."

I’m used to the trope of “the true monster is the one who locks others up in a cage for the same of science” kind of thing, so I immediately assumed that’s what Knock-Knock was suggesting, rather than you literally being a missing specimen

Knock Knock calls the protag out on being a monster! When she talks about how it isn’t fair and how if one of them looked like the other, things would be easier! She knew the whole time!
Thinking on it… having a monster that genuinely thinks it works there could probably be fairly useful assuming you keep track of it.
@@Lh0000 The subject (the player) probably takes over peoples bodies and shapeshift into the form with orange hair, that's probably why there's blood and why Max says "you've survive for so long" (or something like that) is because the subject takes the same form every time it takes over a body and so Max thought you've survive.

To me the twist is so funny
Just having an anomaly that **thinks** it works at the place and then throwing it into the role of the player who is. Dealing with and studying another anomaly- Somethin about that just hits me in the funny bone.
Knock knock is very well designed, a wonderful balance of abnormal (4 legs, blood spots for eyes, m o u t h ) and cure ( dress, bow, round )
Gonna check out the corp game referenced now it sounds interesting :D
A few warnings: it's as much of a puzzle game as it is a management game.
And it's hard. When you get a new scp you have to guess what to do with it and most of the time you will only get some hints. If it has a special animation, like a head being cut off, it means that you sent in the wrong person to do that job, either because they're too low-level or another BS reason.
Don't fret about losing progress with the rewind if an abnormality gets too annoying. You lose everything you got in a day if you reset, but you will keep weapons, armor, abnormality information and completed missions when you use the rewind or when you start from the first day. It's almost a roguelike, starting from the beginning makes the game a lot easier.
One thing, it's kind of a spoiler but it can seriously piss you off and turn you off from playing the game: If you get a plague doctor or a ticket booth, unlock their basic information and use the memory repository rewind to remove it from the facility.
The plague doctor is seriously not worth keeping in the base on your first run, and the ticket booth is not worth keeping in your base, period.

@@desadograisedrobot515 A bit late but this is lobcorp. The plague doctor plays nice and gives out buffs until 12 employees have the buff. At that point he starts a purge and turns 11 employees into horrific monstrosities and leaving the last 1 with a devil mask designated as a sinner. The plague doctor then "ascends" and turns into this raid boss that can screw with your work in many ways. Wether it be killing your employees from across the map (undodgeable aoe attack that deals percentage hp dmg) or just causing other abnormalities to breach containment. Then there's the 11 apostles defending it. Its not supposed to be fought more than once since when you do beat it, you get all the rewards from it (though you can trigger the fight multiple times).
*I'm sure nothing will go wrong when taking care of my Lovecraftian monster!*

IKR, not many people know about this game and the sequel, But IG it is a pretty challenging game so it makes sense that not a lot of ppl are fond of it

When it was revealed that Knock Knock can shapeshift, I realized that there truly were only two possible scenarios. Either:
A. The protagonist is secretly a monster.
OR
B. The shopkeeper is secretly a monster.

@@Ahrone1586 Mostly theme related, with the multiple types of work, observation logsand looking at things through a camera. The creator further down confirmed it was LC-inspired too. Having to maintain its happiness also seems pretty reminiscent of the Legacy version of LC.
@@Ahrone1586 They are really similar, this one is like taking one creature in LobCorp and expand it, and LobCorp let you manage 20 of them at the same time, each one having a unique way to ruin your day.

The style of art, HUD and the title screen, the name and design of the monster, it really does reminded me of Lobotomy Corp., and I won't be surprised if the game is inspired from it or even tribute of it. I should play that game again, it's really fun (and a bit stressful lol). If you guys like management type of games, try playing the game.

The tip-off is it says "Your NOT friends", but its written like it just blends into the company ideology you dont realize its a hint until after you die once or twice. LOL

Finally, the clerk pistols have a use! They really nailed the Lobcorp vibes on this game, the anomaly reminds me of some of the early scrapped abno designs, and even the store nugget seems like they would be someone you could hire in-game. Goooood stuff.

I think the story is that the ‘Creature’ in question is your character. Probably impersonating the employees that take care of it and stuck in a loop of ‘killing’ itself, regenerating the employee they made, and starting all over, until they switch with the employee and sneak out when the others least suspect.
The ending specifically suggests that your character is a completely different anomaly, that doesn't seem to realize that it isn't actually an employee.
also some of the dialog that knock knock says "if you looked like this, they would find you quicker" proves this

As the game progresses it seems that "Subject Knock Knock becomes more and more dangerous by the second."
In the ending dialogue with Max I went “huh? Shouldn’t that be Manly 6? Why does the name tag say Manly?” But makes much sense with what Knock Knock said about Manly being out there
Awesome with the subtle twist and that dying actually is a game mechanic
I love this Lobotomy corp/SCP concept of directly interacting with the monsters while you play the role of the scientist and learn more about the creature/item yourself through trial and error.
Manly having the most no punctuation and broken grammar titles is in all honesty amazing

This almost feels like a Lobotomy Corporation spin-off. I would love a game based on the Lobotomy Corporation universe where you are doing the day to day maintenance of the facilities and chambers.

I get the feeling that the blue bar represents Knock Knock's "sanity" and the lower it gets the more they try to get to the camera and then maybe red is energy? Seeing as it depletes when you play and raises when you eat?

I like how Knock Knock hinted at you not being human. Considering what it's said *you* are capable of, I'm starting to doubt how dangerous it really was. After all, they never killed you, and you're the only one with a confirmed kill...

I think the blue bar is hunger and the red bars tiredness so if you just got the Red Bar all the way down it would end your day
this makes me think of lobotomy corporation :D I hope you play that game someday. I like how when she talks it sounds like laughter. Her design makes me happy and stuff carrying over makes me think of lobotomy corp too aaa this is so cool it's like you're one of the employees!!
