- As the child of Holocaust survivors and a World War II refugee herself, peace builder Georgette Bennett was stunned by the human toll and tragedy of the Syrian civil war. She got to work, bringing together historical enemies to build an aid pipeline from Israel to Syria -- a feat many considered impossible, but has since helped millions. Through this inspiring story of unlikely partnership, Bennett shares three steps for creating change and invites all of us to take action when we see someone in need.

Admirable and certainly greatly appreciated by the Syrians. Unfortunately the war in Syria was a war of choice by a 'great power'. Add Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Kurds, Yemen, Palestine, first Iraq/Iran war to this list of great powers conflicts. No number of efforts by good folks like you will suffice when it comes to intentionally using other nations for direct or for proxy wars. Yes these folks must be helped in real time. The effort that is missing today is good old Pesce Movements. Israel once had a powerful peace movement. Today Its run by crooks and violent religious zealots. The head of security vowed just this week if an Israeli mother must cry so will one thousand Palestinian mothers. US is ADDICTED to endless war. In illegal Iraq war one million dead, many more wounded, infrastructure destroyed on first night of bombing. Environmental catastrophe growing by the day. One million Afghans dead with similar outcomes. Add to this reality we're now 8 billion precious humans and every year another 80 million net new precious humans join us. Just to accommodate these folks requires construction of one New York City worth of infrastructure food education healthcare environment etc EVERY SINGLE MONTH. These issues require good governance, cooperation negotiation COMPROMISE diplomacy statesmanship yet the great powers all choose violence. Keep in mind we add 51 BILLION tons of greenhouse gases pollution to our shared atmosphere annually. Again our efforts better served by demanding an end to spending $7.5 trillion annually around the world on ways to kill each other!!! We also take the best and brightest from higher education and put them into the military industrial complex depriving humanity of the intelligence needed to mitigate our damages to our only home! As Hannah Arendt said so perfectly 'at first I am human'. Recognize our humanity and get on with the great works needed to secure the present and the future for the countless billions yet to be born. Thanks for your work!

I commend what they've done but there's a lot of areas here in the US that could use that aid. We've got a lot of issues here that need solving. I don't get why so much $$ is sent abroad
