Hey, nice review. I was considering philips. Is it possible to use these lights like a sunrise alarm? Or at least set them to turn on in a certain way and time to function as one? Thanks 😊

@Ellen I ended up buying some smart bulbs off of Amazon and downloaded an app (smart life) to schedule each bulb to turn on at a certain time making it similar to a wake up alarm. I figured it out by searching on youtube. It's not exactly user friendly but it works for my needs.

Thanks! Honestly, most of the time I haven't had any problems connecting. I will say resetting the bulbs can be difficult sometimes tho.

    How Long do They last

As long as any other bulb. Have mine for years now

I've had mine for about two years, but I'd expect many years more as LED bulbs in general have impressive longevity 👍🏼

Nope! No more wi-fi bulbs. Unless you have a very small place where your wi-fi coverage is great or you have whole-house mesh system, wi-fi bulbs will be flaky in spots with bad wi-fi coverage. I expect my bulbs to work perfectly, every time, and instantly. I don't want to have to reset my wi-fi or refresh IP addresses to get my lights to work. Ain't nobody got time for that. If these were Zigbee bulbs I'd give them a shot, but I avoid wi-fi based bulbs, light-strips, and smart switches like the plague.

I definitely understand the aversion if you've had a bad experience. For me, my Wi-Fi bulbs haven't had any of these issues for the three years or so I've used them, both at my new spot and old house 👍🏼

So you always have to use your phone and don't work without wifi?
    Yeah pass

I mostly use my Nest Mini for controls with my voice: you're not tied down to using your phone at all. Smart switches, sensors, Google Home, Alexa, etc. are all supported. And yes, Wi-Fi is required, but it's very rare that it goes out and more of an inconvenience to other things than lighting controls for a few minutes.
