    Good info Chuxxsss. Not a fan of this stuff really for a couple of reasons; stuff that will fail in a couple of years means I have to find a replacement and remove and replace, as well as the inconvenience of having light or lights out for a while...also stuff that talks to a central server out in the cloud, you don't know what data it is collecting and selling without even asking you.

    I don't think you need a new touchpad... I think you need a new finger lol... I bought these smart switches and also the double powerpoints with one being 2 USB1 connections throughout my house, and I gotta say these switches and points are really nice. very modern and touch-sensitive. The smart switches only need 2 wires live and negative, very easy to install and fits mostly into your existing switches as screw holes are spaced the same length. Would definitely recommend these switches and powerpoints... probably last longer as well having no moving parts like a traditional light switch. Software to me is ok... I say if it works, it is good. If it doesn't it's garbage...but its easy enough to work out.

    You videos are way better than ones from Grid.
    So this can replace a standard switch in my home?
    I see some videos about an extra wire, is that necessary.
    Does it fit the standard switch socket in Aussie homes?
    Does the one button turn on and off.

    • @chuxxsss
      @chuxxsss  3 года назад +1

      It doesn't need an extra wire if I remember right. I do Sonoff reviews and long story short. the live wire goes through a circuit, which take more negative and uses it to make a negative wire. Very clever stuff. We have to reset out rooms to Sitting, table and sink as commands. Plus calling switch turns them all on or off. Thanks for the comment have a wonderful day.

    So you did have a Neutral after all? My apartment does not have a neutral at the 4 point switch i want to change. So my understanding is it won't work properly as you need the neutral to keep it powered so keeps the wifi settings etc.

    • @chuxxsss
      @chuxxsss  3 года назад

      I have some touch switches from Sonoff, which uses the Active and resistors to provide the power to the switch no neutral at all.

    • @allanapplin250
      @allanapplin250 3 года назад

      @@chuxxsss Yeah OK .. I was just looking into ones like that. Trying to see which brands are Oz Approved. so SONOFF have Aus Approval? If so where did you buy them from. Seems the resistor keeps power on the whole time but very low so the wifi works but not enough to make the light come on. Thopugh I have LED lights so hopefully that will not make them light up.

    Does the deta light switch require a neutral in your installation or it just ran off the two wires.(for each switch)

      O.k. these light switches are like the Sonoff ones. They use the Active only, but use the resistance in the switch to make a negative side. So you will be right.

    Hi there, thanks for the video. I set my single gang Deta switch up last night. Can you tell me: 1: Does the switched blue light not stay on the power switch when it's turned off? I expected the light ring to remain on so I can see the switch at night! 2. I woke up this morning and when I turned the lights back on the 2 kitchen Arlec grid connect RGB bulbs began flashing and appeared to have gone back to their default setting. Any idea what's happened here. thank you! Jon

    it's irrelevant if you know what you're doing or not. In Australia, you are not allowed to do DIY mains electrical work unless you are a licenced electrician. It's older houses that have neutrals to light switches. Most newer houses do have them. if they don't then it's probably electricians costing costs.

      No sonoff and grid connect, use one Active wire and setup a resistance network to set a more negative positive wire to a more positive wire.
