For those who are jarred by the sudden switch of guests, aftet doing a bit of digging, it looks like the full episode with Vanessa aired in Dec 2022 and is called Psychological Tricks to Boost Your Influence, Income, and Impact TODAY!
It's wild to me that it's over 80%, until I remember the concepts in the book "Speed of Trust" by Covey. In it he outlines how competence & caring for the other person's wellbeing creates trust in the workplace in more depth. It seems like both Vanessa and Covey were teaching the same concept. When we have genuine charisma, it demonstrates to others that we care about them and we trust ourselves. If we don't trust our competence or demonstrate we care through our body language, it makes it difficult for others to believe in us. We are the experts on ourselves, so if we don't trust ourselves, then it would make sense for others to internally question it as well. I appreciate the rare people who saw my capacity and heart and chose to believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. I now get to create that safety for myself and to create that foundation for others.
Yes Mel, the blind spot reminds me of the people on reality tv who say they didn’t realize how they are coming across. Not being self aware. That would be a good podcast on being more self aware.
Not that I didn’t enjoy the rest of this episode, but this was a little bit of a bait and switch, because I wanted the entire hour and a half to be Vanessa. Lol

I was really enjoying Vanessa Van Edwards, and then suddenly at 30 minutes in, without any explanation or warning she was gone. Shame... what happened?!

7:25 the issue I have with charisma is that my experiences have all shown me the ones who exude charisma are self centered narcissists. They deceive people with their fake smiles and smoothness for their own agenda. Their own personal private benefit. It’s not genuine. It is like a lubricant in that it washes off eventually and you are the victim of what is to come after the charm has been taken off.
Mel Robbins is very charismatic!

they need to get to the point
Confusing. Was listening without looking and all of a sudden some dude comes in. Weird. No transitional material from her. Terrible editing.

I’m an autism Mom and we say an aide “gets it”… how to work with and support… makes sense? 💯🤓
Very disappointed, switched to another interview midstream.
Just another personality they sell.
Oprah... I'm unsubbing... you're out of touch.
Come on you like 50 videos , dislike 1 and that seems to be a reasonable reason for you to stop following her. Are you a reasonable person?
