    Awesome job!
    I love my 960 paired with foildrive for flat water efoil carving! At 53 not sure if I’ll be able to dock start the 960..
    Again, nice job 🤙😎

      Thanks! The 960 has been an absolute blast to pump and carve behind the boat. I agree though, the dockstart can be tough!

      Question, does your dock there allow your foil tips to not hit the flotation underneath? I’ve not been able to find a local dock that doesn’t have concrete floats underwater even with the edge of the dock 🤦‍♂️

    • @FoilFanatic42
      @FoilFanatic42  6 месяцев назад

      @RCKahuna150 So for this dock it's super nice because it's just a floating plastic dock that sits a couple inches in the water. The con is that it's really low. The dock at the lake I use has dock supports that sit decently deep underwater so the foil has to be pretty low, but since it's a high dock I can use gravity to assist the launch. Where do you foil?

      I’m in the tricites WA area. There’s like 5 foilers around here and I know 4 counting myself😂
      I kinda trail blazing the pump foil thing around here I guess..

      @RCKahuna150 Nice! Do you have any other wings for dockstarting? Sometimes I have to jump start instead depending on the dock height/float situation.

    congrats! looking forward to hear your feedback about duration... currently not sure yet what to keep as 'fun' wing together with the 1401, this will probably push into anaerobic pumping very quickly, but interested to see!

      It will be a fun test for sure! Which wings do you have along side the 1401 currently?

      @arco2ch 7 месяцев назад

      @@FoilFanatic42 currently spitfire 1180 and art pro 1201, which i can still start rather comfortably without running as long as there is a bit of drop. Dont want to keep so many wings and was looking at the 960 but cant take the leap of faith. I'd need to pump it for 1 min + in order to go grab some waves further out. If my heart explodes before that (74kg) then it wont do here :/

      @@FoilFanatic42 chatting with Yvon after his last video dropped ruclips.net/video/iG8t1Zp1zo4/видео.html -> basically small bumps/waves he took the 1401, big waves then down to the 960... quite impressive

      @FoilFanatic42  7 месяцев назад

      @arco2ch Nice! I haven't tried the 1201. Is it compatible to the 1180? For the 960, I think I can get close to a minute on a good day with less trash in the water for sure.

    • @arco2ch
      @arco2ch 7 месяцев назад

      @@FoilFanatic42 nope - art pro and spitfire feels very different . art pro i dont think is ideal for carving, although with small wingspan is doable. The spitfire rolls much nicer but are a tougher to pump for long, so you want them to play around (short roundtrips) or to reach a wave!

  • @youhavequasp
    @youhavequasp 6 месяцев назад +1

    Kudos to you getting that small foil going off the dock.
    You mind some input? I would think you actually don’t need to do such a long runup. It looks like you’re even decelerating a bit again before you jump off the dock. Maybe doing just two or three steps and give it all you got will even better your success?

    • @FoilFanatic42
      @FoilFanatic42  6 месяцев назад

    Haha. 21 tries isn’t bad. I’m ordering an 1180 for DW paddle up starts but I’m happy to try to dock start it. Also, we don’t have alligators here.

      @@FoilFanatic42 thanks! Something the 1180 has in common with the 1150, 1300 is an additional extra degree of angle upwards in the foil. The spitfires 1100 and below (and ART, HPS) don't have as much. I tried adding the +1 shim (comes in the bolt pack) to the rear wing on demo spitfire 1100 and it improved the low end significantly and made it possible to dead start. I have the 960 and great to see you get it going, I was about to give up on it..

    • @FoilFanatic42
      @FoilFanatic42  7 месяцев назад

      @powis-tv8ln Interesting on the angle similarities and differences between the setups. Is there a chart for this? I need to experiment with shims for this reason. Definitely keep trying with the 960, it's a fun wing!

      @FoilFanatic42  7 месяцев назад

    • @apricotscrub
      @apricotscrub 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@FoilFanatic42 yep the stall speed of the codes are insane. The 860r was like 100x easier than the spitfire 1030 for me to dockstart.

    • @FoilFanatic42
      @FoilFanatic42  7 месяцев назад

      @apricotscrub Man that's insane! I've seen that they are like crazy thin wings compared to the market standard. How's do they carve and pump compared to the Spitfire?

    • @apricotscrub
      @apricotscrub 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@FoilFanatic42 the S wings are basically like the art axis but way easier to pump and better turning, the R is like +40% more distance per pump vs S, similar stall speed (860r has better stall than 980s), turns worse than s on waves. The smaller R still turn great as they are tiny wings. Personally there are no code wings I'm doing over 2 minutes on, every run is probably one minute for me, but distance covered is huge. I'm currently on the 1075, I use it both as a prone foil and dockstart. Get around a minute.
