Hello Sir, I had a doubt in your near perfect competition example in agricultural industry for animal corn feed. You explain that the key requisite for the perfect competition is that the players involved are forced to be price takers. Considering this, if hypothetically, a certain farmer becomes a major producer of the corn supply for that country, couldn't he effectively be a price setter by adjusting supply by adjusting the ratio of the amount stored to the amount sold? Now if we extend this to reality, dont farmers(the big players) usually do something similar by selling off stocks when there is supply shortage to gain max price for the grain, and store more when there is a very good produce? Is this not a form of price setting, though indirect?
