Shyguy's fists only video is actually what introduced me to Aria in the first place! And now I've beaten the game, I watch your videos, listen to loads of the music, play the rougelike hack, even am currently writing some fanfic! This isn't even the only game Shyguy's introduced me to either.
6:30 - 13:40 Congrats on clutching out the most epic Manticore fight in the history of the game. Even if you largely can't use it in this run, you 100% earned that Soul drop.
The Shantae games are a lot of silly fun with gameplay just challenging enough to keep you from falling asleep. Would love to see you play through some Pirate's Curse is probably the best for gameplay specifically
Been watching you for a minute, and this is incredibly impressive. I wish I could keep my execution on point like this. This whole thing made my day, seriously.
You get used to it when playing difficult games often. For example, I had played Ys 8 a while back, beat the game, had a good time, went to do NG+ on nightmare difficulty (very, very hard mode), but accidentally checked the "infinity" option when selecting difficulty. Infinity mode adds 60 levels to all enemies. And if nightmare difficulty wasn't hard enough on its own...lol Part way through the game, you control a single character in the distant past and have to fight through a dungeon as her solo. Thing is, SHE doesn't keep her levels, mastery, or gear in NG+, so you have to do her segments entirely vanilla. That means I had to fight a boss, solo, on ultra hard mode, literally five times my level. Dude could and would OHKO me and my damage output was so low that it did not visibly register damage on his health bar on each hit. Took me 20 straight minutes of tickling him to death while perfect blocking and dodging literally every attack he had. And that's NOT the hardest fight I have ever done lol At some point you just find the rhythm and get lost in it. Find pattern, repeat pattern faithfully, eventually win. The power of stubbornness!
Damn, reading the title I thought it was going to be fist weapons only. This is much more interesting. After watching Shyguymask's video, I can understand why you allowed yellow souls and armour, that looked tedious.
Honestly it's probably worth changing the title to something like "No Weapon Speedrun" instead, a little more clear that way. Glad you found it interesting!
At 8:45 when you say to check the replay You were right, you did get scammed, you press backdash like a few frames before the punch finishes, I guess Aria must have no or almost no buffer cause soma just stands there lol
"My goal is sub-4 hours" EDIT: I regret to inform you that you hit 2 slides into Headhunter (36:54) and your run is, therefore, invalid. EDIT2: I eventually caught on that you allowed slide, kick and panther damage...
I'mma be real, most of the "challenges" that people come up with sound less like fun and more like tedious nonsense that ruins any and all desire to ever actually play it. And if it's done for the sake of a video on the internet, it's more likely to just be there to farm engagement, rather than be something any sane person would want to do of their own will.
This challenge was inspired by Shyguymask's video, which you should definitely check out:

I watched the VOD yesterday. I was shocked you managed to clutch the win against Manticore only dealing 1 damage per hit. Great stuff!

TL;DR still somehow easier than IronSoul
That slide into Julius was my favorite
Very angry teenager beats demonic castle with his bare fists, understand the case.
The difference between Manticore and Chaos1 is hilarious. Great run 👍

Would love to see you play through some
Pirate's Curse is probably the best for gameplay specifically
Agreed about Pirate's Curse. Though it is a little unfortunate that the best one is also the one that doesn't use the transformation gimmick.
@@swampert564 so true, not really sure what happened with the Kickstarter one, it just kinda felt "flat"for lack of a better term
Agreed. They're all fun, but Pirate's Curse doesn't make you stop and dance to transform, so you can just shmoove, _especially_ in Pirate Mode.
Haven't watched the vid yet but I am ready to see Soma fist all the people in castlevania!
Congrats, dude! Amazing run!

That was a question i wondered that woudnt of been possible but this run showed otherwise thank you for pushing the challenge to the limits
Nearly a 7 minute Manticore fight... that Manticore fight was half the run up to that point.
Watching you punch enemies is teaching me exactly what pixel their hurtbox starts.
Now do a casual normal-paced playthrough of the vanilla game with no glitches
46:35 Oh my god JC, a Bomb...er armor!
Whee references.
This madlad actually did it. JupiterClimb's absolutely goated.
Great run. Waiting for your shuffler video
Should've done the whole Graham fight with succubus as it was 100% lifesteal
😂

Several punches man
wait, it's not fist weapons, it's actually bare hands? Wow
Soma catch these hands Cruz
Hey Jup, keep up the good work.
One Punch Man if he had to punch multiple times be like:
Gg great run Jupiter!
GG to one of the Master Castlevania Players!👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
6:22 You can break those rocks?!

I wonder if Aria dialogue randomizers exist. I mean, they probably do right?

Fisting%
Wouldn't it be possible to get the best ending only using your fists
Now do Aria IronFist
Jupiter said "y'all want this fade, huh"
Also 5% drop would be a 1 in 20 drop, which seems to be a lie.
That's why those first try drops go absolutely crazy😂🎉
