14:40 What Rafal drew is the model for the Ptolemaic theory, or more commonly known as geocentrism. As you can it’s a very complicated diagram that necessitates planets move in almost random ways. 24:51 This OP is probably my favorite this season. Yes, even considering Dandadan’s. 33:10 Glad someone else appreciated how badass that line is! 47:47 By the way, the Pear of Anguish is a real torture instrument. 53:50 For clarification, the poppy seeds Rafal is talking about here are most likely opium, which is indeed used as an anesthetic. 57:06 It’s incredible how shaken Nowak is. This must be the first time someone has challenged his beliefs with such conviction. I’m also anime-only for this, and I’ve been so impressed. Tying the advancements in field of astronomy to the search for the beauty of the universe is such a genius concept for a drama/thriller.
地=Earth, 血=blood, 知=knowledge All three of these words are pronounced "chi" in Japanese And the anime's title, "Orb," is described as "chi" in Japanese.
Anime community is not ready for this adaptation, full adaptation can possibly goes down as Madhouse's zenith fiction/magnum opus. The source material is the most critically acclaimed series in the past decade, received the most awards including Osamu Tezuka Culture Grand Prize (only 26 works in Japan history won this, such as doraemon, Monster, Pluto, Vagabond).
@@chok1169 I was the same, but I don't regret it at all, I still enjoy watching every episode of the anime. I think the advantage of reading the manga is that by reading it straight through you can enjoy the journey much more. Watching one episode a week can be a bit difficult to follow the story in the best way. I think if you enjoy anime in general more, don't read the manga, But if you are a person who really enjoys reading manga I recommend it 100%
@@aripacheco824 The difference is that reading the manga spoils you from what is gonna happen next and it takes the wow factor. I can still appreciate a good anime adaptation, but it is a boomer for me to know what will happen next.
@@chok1169 Of course, if you read the manga you will enjoy the anime less than if you hadn't read it, but your experience would already be with the manga. If you don't usually read manga or don't enjoy it as much as watching anime, Just wait for the episodes to come out. What I was saying is that if you enjoy reading I highly recommend it, it is a very good read. It is a different experience But I couldn't tell you which is better or worse because it's a matter of taste.
wow I am surprised to see It on this channel ... more respect coz this isnt one of those that have lots of action/ comedy or craziness that draw you in right away! love it
Teaching in the Middle Ages was in Latin and drew on sources from ancient Greek scholars. Some of this knowledge has been lost, destroyed as heretical. He had knowledge of the molecule and had developed prototypes of automata.... over 2000 years ago.
Love your reactions!! This is such an underrated and amazing show❤ I love your discussions, I'm not trying to to critisize you but... Maybe you should pause a little bit less often? It's fine if you prefer it this way, it's just... I'm afraid that with so many pauses you won't fully delve into special atmosphere of this show, its vibe and ost... And sometimes you pause right before an intense or important scene, so you miss the build-up. Maybe you should pause when there is an end of the scene and then analyze it?
Country of "P" 😂, from the characters' names we can conclude that the setting is Poland, also this is not really a story about modern astronomy in the middle ages, because now we know the stars and the sun also move lol, heliocentrism has been known since the 16th century, a century after the setting of this anime, even though the concept existed long before that but no one believed it and it was hard to prove. If we follow real world history, the person who popularized heliocentrism in the 16th century was Copernicus, he was a Polish... Then Bruno, Kepler, Galileo, Newton, and finally the big bang theory that we study today in school. We also know that heliocentrism is not completely true because the sun is not the center of the universe, but only one of the stars in the Milky Way. This is just the basic knowledge and this story is just historical fiction, in reality medieval churches were not this cruel, at least not in this side of europe, you were still allowed to research new theories that clashed with the church, as long as they were hypothetical and you didn't openly oppose them
What do you mean they were not this cruel? They were literally trying to stop or slow the work of scholars anytime they could with any meanings. Inquisitors could come for you at any moment. They WERE in fact this cruel. They could burn u for anything(heresy/witchcraft/etc). How much knowledge must have been lost because it was burned or confiscated in the name of "God".The lucky ones could pass it on but im pretty sure it was this cruel. The church was not known for their support of science. They made money on people trying to buy their salvation while burning anyone who opposed them.
@@MsFeco12 None of what you say has ever taken place in Poland, ever. The church was a massive advocate for science, ALL science took place within the church, Copernicus was a devout believer.
Was not expecting that twist in a million years. Wild start to this one
The hidden gem this season for sure!
Hidden Orb
Hidden Bollock
Personification of kino

i'll say it, dandadan is great, but orb is just better.

Yeah! The choice of "Chi" as the title is amazing and profound.

The manga is the best thing I've read in years, 62 chapters of pure cinema

Orb is a masterpiece flying under the radar.
I'm baffled by how people are missing this out.
3話まとめて見てくれたことに 感謝🙏
Rafał did't say Bye now, he said see you again to Nowak

There are only female and male. I sympathize with the protagonist.
this anime definitely does not take place in country of P-oland

Its kingdom of P and it will be important later on
