Shout out for Joe for loving the family so much and wanting to help so much. My husband is incredibly helpful too, and its touching when they get frustrated because they wish they could help more. It shows that they see our struggles as moms and want to lighten our load.
My daughter used to get so fussy and irritable when I would feed. It was so hard! Turns out we had two things going on. I had a strong letdown and she had reflux that required prescription meds. With a huge letdown I tried laid back nursing and it really helped. You can also get a hand pump and do a little letdown pump prior to latching him. ❤❤❤
Sleep can be so hard but it will come! Just stay consistent with what you’re doing, you’re doing great ❤ I just hope you know that you’re amazing and this stage will be a distant memory some day soon.
The hard work of putting him back and forth into the crib or bassinet is worth it! My baby is just a few weeks older then Shawn and I went through the same exact thing and she finally just started getting use to the crib and going for longer stretches of time sleeping. Just have to try to be consistent but trust me I know how hard it is when you completely exhausted in the middle of the night
Sending lots of love and continuous patience. I remember seeing your videos with Jackson and everything you would do including the snoo nothing would work. I felt your pain as a mama and look at him now. Remember it’s temporary it too shall pass. I know easier said than done. ❤
I'm sure you guys totally do this but those times when you're having to soothe an unsoothable child are the perfect times to pray over them! Even when my little guy, that's the same age as Jackson asks me to stay and pat his back till he falls asleep. I choose to pray over him instead of feeling tired and frustrated that I can't leave. We know it's a season and it's great that you guys can communicate how you're feeling about things! Just thought it might be helpful reminder 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing the realities of life with family and a newborn. We have been experiencing very similar things with our baby too! It’s crazy how they are so aware of their surroundings and how the eyes pop wide open when being out down for a nap 🫠 Your vlogs are very comforting especially in this season of life ❤
I just had my 4th baby, she is 7 weeks old now and she kind of gives the same short spurts of sleep. Although she has slept in her bassinet for a couple hours here and there. But of course they always sleep best in our arms. We use background noise (you tube) and she really likes that.
My ultimate tipp is to wait ten minutes after they fall asleep in your arms and lay them down with feed first, head last. You can make the sleep surface warm in advance so they freeze and wake up. And if it's really reflux put him on a raised mattress and supply some magnesium on your side. It will helps him tremendously. Kind regards and a big hug from a mom of 3 from Germany. ❤
Congratulations to you and your beautiful family! Long shot but my son was very similar with nursing and gas as a newborn, no reflux, and in time we discovered an allergy to dairy and other foods through breast milk. I ended up going on an elimination diet under Dr supervision, it was a lot, but breast fed the whole time, it all worked out and as a toddler he’s allergy free. The first real sign we could show the pediatrician was flecks of blood in stool in diapers. That started around 4-6 weeks I believe. Hopefully your situation is something else. Good luck!
Sean looks just like Riley!! So cute!! Our daughter is pregnant but we don’t know what she’s having yet bc she just found out but we are beyond thrilled!!!!!!! I’m soooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!
Hey babies are super picky with everything, sleeping eating etc , and most are bad sleepers and it’s frustrating! And they love their mommies! ❤ hang in there! Shout out to Joe for helping, his help nurtures your good milk supply! Thanks for the vlog!
I’m sorry the sleep is hard. It’s so hard without sleep. I have been there! If he does have silent reflux it may be hurting him to lay flat. You can buy wedges to place under them or make you own with a folded towel or blanket. And I know I commented last video about the silent reflux but it truly was so hard when I went through it with my son but we didn’t know or get help with it until he was a couple months. ❤
We had similar sleep issues as you guys with our now 21 month old. He had silent reflux, seemingly hated swaddles, and refused to sleep longer than 15 if we didn't hold him. So on advice of my mom, we added a book under one end of his bassinet to help elevate him and relieve his reflux. And under close supervision (we sat next to him the whole time watching TV), we put him on his stomach without a swaddle. That seemed to be the real ticket. He has slept on his stomach every night since he was about two months old. I'm not saying do that, but saying you'll figure out what works for him and get some relief. Hang in there!
Hi Kayla! Most insurances will actually cover up to 6 free lactation consultant during the first year postpartum. You should look into it and maybe find a position that will help baby Sean be more comfortable when feeding 🙏🏼💕
I had/have an oversupply and had a similar experience with my 3 month old that you are having. Using the haaka to empty can make the problem worse. Also I know you bought the boobie bars .. I would back off on those too. I recommend feeding off one side per feed and if he's getting overwhelmed by your letdown you can use a manual pump to pump 1/2 to1 oz before feeding. My son used to nurse for a minute then unlatch and get sprayed in the face with milk. Once I got my supply under control he was much more comfortable. Edit: I feel you on the sleep front. We decided to do whatever works for all of us to get quality sleep. I'm not sure what we're doing would be sustainable with other little ones as there is a lot of contact sleeping. Our son also hated being swaddled so we found sleep sacks where his arms come out to be best.
This worked for me and my LO. I also made sure to feed her with her head tilted slight up and took a break every 5 mins to burp. It’s a pain in the butt but my LO is much happier.
Just an idea 🔴 Do you think you drinking caffeine/ coffee and sugar has an impact on his sleeping/ napping? It would only make sense that it could impact his sleeping/napping. I’m not a mom yet, but maybe it helps.
Good morning Kayla I think y’all are doing a fantastic job. Every baby is different anyways 🥰 if you ever have the chance, please post a Vlog with your cooking in it I personally would love to see some of the recipes that you put together and make for your family ❤️ take care! Can’t wait for the next one
Omg Joe's bit in response to Mom saying "he doesn't have boo** he can pull out" that is so sweet I'm sorry he's frustrated but I'm so happy he wants to connect with his new baby awwwww❤❤❤
Oversupply seems like a blessing but it really can cause a lot of issues!! I was told I had a colicky baby. She never wanted to be put down, would only sleep in my arms , was gassy beyond belief. Finally I had her tongue tie clipped at 5 weeks and I swear not even 12 hours later she was a different baby. She slept in her bassinet for 5 hours that night and now I get consistent stretches in the bassinet. I believe her tongue tie was causing our nursing issues, taking in too much air and a lot of milk very quickly which only made my oversupply worse. I fixed my supply by nursing only on one side each feed. I used the haaka only if I was engorged and uncomfortable. I still only nurse on one side unless she shows signs that she’s still hungry. I hope you find some relief soon! Look into lactose overload as well 💜
Hi! Thank u for your content. Just a piece of advice. Look for the wake windows, maybe Sean is undertired or overtired… I used the program little ones with my 3 kids and it worked great. I’m not gonna tell you that they sleep through the whole night but it helps a ton. At least to know when they are actually tired to go to sleep.
My oldest is and always has been a terrible sleeper. I cut dairy with my 2nd for 4 months and he was way more comfortable and would put himself to sleep
Hi Kayla, my daughter wouldn’t nap longer than 20-30 minutes and used to wake up frequently until she was 5m old. I realized that this was because she wanted to sleep on her tummy and as soon as she could roll over her tummy by herself she started to nap far much longer. Of course, sleeping on the tummy can be dangerous for newborns but maybe you can try something making him feel similar… a more comfortable sleeping position for him. I hope it helps!
Sean is so adorable Kayla! You guys are doing such a good job balancing 3. My third didn’t like most swaddles but tolerated the Halo but her little hands always got cold so we put mittens on her. She’s 4 months old and we just moved to kyte baby with mittens. Just a suggestion!
I had a fast let down with my second baby, that now is 6 month old. Lactation consultant told me to feed her on a later back position and collect the let down befor feed her…. It took a while but worked for us!
I don’t know if you’ll read this but my son was a contact napper. He only napped if we held him for 7 months. The only way he slept in his crib was with this weighted sleep sack from dreamland baby. I wish I found it sooner it would’ve saved me months of holding him for naps!!
I remember this short nap phase was so hard for me with my 1st I am due with my 2nd in dec and I pray for the strength to be more patient because everything I read was just that short naps were normal during this phase there are thing you can do to help get night time sleep good but nap are just not there yet 😅 you got this
Just a suggestion about using the haakaaa: make sure you measure the milk in another container because the measurements on the haakaa aren’t always accurate
I suggest for the swing get the graco one. It goes different ways he might not like the 4 moms one bc it only goes one way baby’s are different based on how they moved in the womb
Hey Kayla, congratulations on your precious baby ❤ He looks like you! As for the fussiness, I’ve had my share of that with all my 3 babies. I also had a fast letdown with my son so I would have to change my nursing position and just lay down. And I wouldn’t cut dairy just yet unless you see blood in the stool and a doctors recommendation. But what I would do is give gas drops like you are doing and also just cutting out gas-producing foods like lentils, potatoes, etc and it seemed to help. But in the end it’s just a phase! Their tummies are still developing and soon it will even out. Hang in there , you are doing so great !
I would highly recommend the snoo for sleep! It’s never too late to start with it cause they can use it up to 6 months old. I loved it for my third baby. I rented it off someone on FB marketplace
Idk if he’s having an signs with his diapers too but one thing for us with our 4th child that was new was that he was taking in air while breastfeeding and that would upset his belly with gas yet he was hungry at the same time still. And then to top it off the diapers (stools) got bad and with a red bottom and come to find out his gas issue was actually more a dairy intolerant issue that was causing the excessive gas and crying fits during feeding. So I had to cut dairy out of my daily diet 100% if I was gonna choose to breastfeed still which I did although I did lose a lot of weight bc dairy is a huge bloating factor and condones a lot to weight gain. But after a month stretch of no dairy at all bc it hides in everything, and takes a while to get outta the baby’s system he was sleeping through the night and feedings went smoothly. Just a thought to check if need be.
You are doing an amazing job girl! It is normal to have these kinds of days, months, weeks lol you are a mom of three and a party of 5! It is not easy! The good thing is that both you and Joe are trying to get on the same page but mainly focused on the same goal and that alone is a win! Riley and Jackson are so big and they’re so good but they are children and they are going to bicker now and probably always because that is what siblings do but for the most part you are blessed to have a supporting husband and a couple of kids that let you Vlog and do your videos and do your job as a mom and self-made I guess Momma Influencer lol take all the time needed for you to be ok :) also, I spent money at target buying the Magnolia book because I too want to say that I have a shelf where I have my favorite “cook books” lol!
I have a fast letdown 😢 so she is always gassy but since I'm switching over to formula she is so much happier I went 3 and half months witch I'm super proud of myself for but I can not wait to get back to work 😊
Maybe he hates having his hands confined in the swaddle. Try traditional swaddle (w swaddling blanket) but leave his hands free. After we figured this out our LO was happiest sleeper. Milk- yes maybe your flow is too fast for him. Try bottle feeding see if there's a difference
Your doing great Momma! Tell Joe to hang in there! My husband could not soothe our 6 month old girl. Still has a hard time! Babies just want there Mommas! I have a very strong and fast letdown. I used the haaka with my first and I think it made it worst! He was very similar to Sean, but seem to also have colic. My boy defiantly had reflux, we tried the medicine and it didn’t seem to help. I did think it improved around 8 weeks! Idk, babies are so different. Hang in there!
Hi Kayla, I have 3 kids and all of them I breast feed for 2 years each. But all of my babies were different. My first never sleep, and wanted to breastfeed for ever. My second breastfeed 3-5 minutes and slept. My third had a lip and tongue tied. We got it reversed but she was a combination of my other two babies. You are doing great and Joe is doing great too!! I also had a over supply. Sometimes leaning back when your let down is coming helps, so it doesn’t go to fast. I pumped and used the Haakaa. After baby is a month old I try to introduce a bottle. I also used the frozen breast milk when they started solid. I used it to mixed the oatmeal cereal and I also give them a open cup of breast milk in the morning too.
If you haven’t tried Hey bear sensory to entertain and calm I highly recommend it. I always joke it’s like baby crack. My son would stop crying instantly w the music and cute dancing fruits and veggies.
❤ you might be upset with this, but I heard that spicy foods, coffee and chocolate can upset little one's tummies.😢 Me, I was relieved when they got to 12 pounds, it seemed like they were suddenly better sleepers. Truly, best of luck and many prayers ❤
Very good milk stash. This way he can go to mimi's and she can feed him while you and jpe have a date night. Have you tried bottle feeding him every now and then ? To see if it will help milk flow ? Try the advent bottles as they have different nipples/ fkow types and it converts to a sippy cup when he gets older. You need to start ltting him self soothe himself back to sleep ! It might take a while but stick with ot and it will happen !
Have you tried to put him to sleep without the swaddle? My LO was not a fan of it and slept much better without it. Hang in there momma, you guys are doing great! ❤
Kayla, my friend, please consider that Satan and his minions could possibly be attacking Sean's soul. Remember that the devil is ruthless and starts working on our children right away. When my toddler was an infant and would be fussy I would turn on a video from RUclips called "Blessings over my home" by Grace for purpose" my toddler would almost instantly stop crying. Use this prayer for your home anytime there is tension/stress, make it a staple for your home. I have a VERY strong willed child and it gets pretty tense in our household so sometimes before bed I will turn on both T.V's and have healing Bible verses playing in 1 room, deliverance verses playing in another room. Sometimes I will put on peace verses, whatever my household needs for that day, I will play. The Word of God spoken in my house all night (it's on a 8+ hr. Loop) really breaks up the tension in my home. Today has been an off day. My toddler woke up chipper, but I woke up okay, but really wanting 10 minutes to myself, but my toddler wasn't having it and was in my face wanting to play. So, I became toddler like by losing my cool and we ended up not getting to the Dr's because MY attitude got his attitude out of whack and he refused to cooperate with me to put his clothes on. Usually I am VERY adamant and would do what I needed to to get him to the Dr's, but today, I said f*** it. I will have him in the Dr's by next week for his 2 1/2 year check up.
Not blaming anybody here, but I always wonder if my kids would ask me why I showed them on public that young without asking them!! You see what I mean; like how to deal with that when the kids grow up and didn’t agree about showing them on public?! 🙏🙏🙏
Dude at this point demand allergy testing. Or food sensitivity testing. His pediatrician will blow it off like they did my son for 7 months until he started solids and started having actual reactions to yogurt etc. Demand for food allergy/intolerance/sensitivity testing. And to the point where you tell them you’ll find another pediatrician who will take you serious and give you what you need, if the current one doesn’t. Your family is suffering. I can tell you’re exhausted and worried that this isn’t normal. Idk man just hopefully you continue to speak up for your baby who can’t. You’re doing a great job. But we went though the same thing. See another doctor who will value your concerns. It’s worth a try, is it not? ?
Shout out for Joe for loving the family so much and wanting to help so much. My husband is incredibly helpful too, and its touching when they get frustrated because they wish they could help more. It shows that they see our struggles as moms and want to lighten our load.
He’s trying so hard 😂 bless his heart lol
My daughter used to get so fussy and irritable when I would feed. It was so hard! Turns out we had two things going on. I had a strong letdown and she had reflux that required prescription meds. With a huge letdown I tried laid back nursing and it really helped. You can also get a hand pump and do a little letdown pump prior to latching him. ❤❤❤
side note- you look SO FREAKING GOOD!!! like glowing, girl! 💛💛
Came here to say this! What foundation are you using?
Sleep can be so hard but it will come! Just stay consistent with what you’re doing, you’re doing great ❤ I just hope you know that you’re amazing and this stage will be a distant memory some day soon.
Thank you for being real about the overstimulation. I have a 3 and 4 year old and understand this struggle!!
Hahhaha girllllllllllllll it’s so bad these days 😅😅 lol brb, ’m just gunna go hide in my dark closet 💀
@KaylaBuell yes, seriously!! 😅
Sean’s little smiles ❤❤❤

I’m so glad you’re able to tune in to this craziness over here! ❤
Both of my babies hated being swaddled too. My daughter was fine in just a plain sleep sack but my son really likes the weighted sleep sack!
I just had my 4th baby, she is 7 weeks old now and she kind of gives the same short spurts of sleep. Although she has slept in her bassinet for a couple hours here and there. But of course they always sleep best in our arms. We use background noise (you tube) and she really likes that.

Look into lactose overload as well 💜
Wondering if you cut out dairy if that would help with his gas issues 🤷🏼♀️ I know that's a big problem with gas.
I laughed when you mentioned about babies who sleep just so well, because my son too😂 He just would NOT sleep. He’s now 2, but still cries at night!
Lol like seriously, I am super happy for moms whose kids sleep. I just need them all to come over to my house and tell me what I’m doing wrong 😅
Bless Joseph! He’s the best

He's adorable ❤ the chiropractor really helped my littles.
my babies are always the same, silent reflux and refuse to sleep in the bassinet ..you're not alone!

I've heard that if you have a fast let down you can try to lay back while you're nursing to slow the flow a little bit.
I have a fast letdown 😢 so she is always gassy but since I'm switching over to formula she is so much happier I went 3 and half months witch I'm super proud of myself for but I can not wait to get back to work 😊
Proud of you lady!!!
Good morning! Your coffee makes me so jealous! I love coffee but it makes me sick when I’m pregnant 😂. Hope you are having a great day ❤
Ahhhh I’m so sorry! That’s terrible 😂 same to you lady!
Have you tried the swaddlelini?!?
I get overstimulated too! Glad I’m not the only one!
Maybe he hates having his hands confined in the swaddle. Try traditional swaddle (w swaddling blanket) but leave his hands free. After we figured this out our LO was happiest sleeper.
Milk- yes maybe your flow is too fast for him. Try bottle feeding see if there's a difference
u could always pump and then feed him with a bottle-= more control of amount coming out?????
Lol! Probably not something you want to hear, but I have a 10 week old that I can just swaddle and put down to sleep😅
Lol aaaand I hate you 🤣🤣 obviously jk but what the heck?!
So far my girl is like that at 3 weeks so I’m hoping it continues lol
Your doing great Momma! Tell Joe to hang in there! My husband could not soothe our 6 month old girl. Still has a hard time! Babies just want there Mommas!
I have a very strong and fast letdown. I used the haaka with my first and I think it made it worst! He was very similar to Sean, but seem to also have colic. My boy defiantly had reflux, we tried the medicine and it didn’t seem to help. I did think it improved around 8 weeks! Idk, babies are so different. Hang in there!
Your such a great mom kayla your doing a brilliant job can you take out a full night with a newborn vlog like you did with jackson
Thank you for this!!
If you haven’t tried Hey bear sensory to entertain and calm I highly recommend it. I always joke it’s like baby crack. My son would stop crying instantly w the music and cute dancing fruits and veggies.
How do you get that text for your videos?
Thanks in advance. 🙏🏻
Love watching your DAY IN THE LIFE videos.
Team no sleep at 2 years old lol She’s been the best sleeper since 4months old buttt she done changed it all up at 2 years old
What about the swaddlini?
❤ you might be upset with this, but I heard that spicy foods, coffee and chocolate can upset little one's tummies.😢 Me, I was relieved when they got to 12 pounds, it seemed like they were suddenly better sleepers. Truly, best of luck and many prayers ❤
Hey mama. How much do you spend on food a month?
Way too much lol I think our budget right now is like $850 but I’d have to run a report of what we actually spend
Sleep is hard...I had to quit caffiene to get my LO to sleep well.
Idk if you’re already doing this but maybe cutting dairy from your diet could help him with being uncomfortable ❤ you’re doing a great job mama!
Try to stop dairy/nuts and Caffeine
But I don’t wannaaaaaaaaa 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 lol
Very good milk stash. This way he can go to mimi's and she can feed him while you and jpe have a date night. Have you tried bottle feeding him every now and then ? To see if it will help milk flow ? Try the advent bottles as they have different nipples/ fkow types and it converts to a sippy cup when he gets older. You need to start ltting him self soothe himself back to sleep ! It might take a while but stick with ot and it will happen !
Have you tried to put him to sleep without the swaddle? My LO was not a fan of it and slept much better without it. Hang in there momma, you guys are doing great! ❤
I think it might be because all day you are holding him that’s why he doest go to sleep
By himself thats normal & choose to sleep with my babies
My newborn sleeps pretty well but wants to be up at 5am 😭
Right there with ya girl! Hang in there 😅
Try to read Gina ford book!
Have you checked him for a lip/tongue tie?
Maybe the tummy issues are from the coffee or dairy in your diet? No idea what else it could be. Hang in there!
But maybe you should have a healthier diet . Maybe something like gluten in your diet upsets his tummy or maybe dairy or sugar .
we never knew a thing about tummy time in the 80s.........................
Babies 1-3 whould not sleep with out me baby number 4 is a lay me down and leave me be baby when it's sleep time
Have you gotten Sean evaluated for oral ties? That could be a big reason he’s so fussy!!
Does he have a tongue or lip tie?
Check if he has a tongue tie
Not blaming anybody here, but I always wonder if my kids would ask me why I showed them on public that young without asking them!! You see what I mean; like how to deal with that when the kids grow up and didn’t agree about showing them on public?! 🙏🙏🙏
Kayla doesn’t care. She is making money off her kids.
Kayla, take him to a CHIROPRACTOR!! I think his issues might possibly he needs to be adjusted.
Never take a baby to a chiropractor they can severely injured them.
