    I really liked your reframing your thoughts and words, Kayla. Changing small perspectives are so important. When I’m exasperated with my 3yo I stop and ask her, “How old are you?” “Three!” She says happily. Case closed. My expectations change and I have patience again.

    Hello Kayla, you are much more experienced mom, but my son also had these "weeks" of really hard time. And then I checked out the chart on so calles "wonder weeks" and it was so helpful. I could predict a bit when hard time is coming. It usually came like a week or two later than the chart says but it was ON SPOT! It made it so much easier to understand the screaming and crying when you know WHY it's happening. 4-5 weeks babies actually go through the first leap. Their eyes are starting to focus further, they are realizing there is a whole room full of people and furniture and sounds aroudn them which they haven't seen before. It must be really scary haha. Anyway, I think you probably heard all of it before. I didn't get any app or book or anything, just simple chart off of google and used it to "predict" when next hard time is coming and realizing what is he going through. Love your channell for years! Thank you for making me feel normal :)

    You going out helped inspire me to take my 2 month old to the grocery store by myself for the first time. With him being my first and having 4.5 months of leave it's been too easy to just stay home... especially since he only gets a good nap if we contact nap. He does like to nap when I'm walking around and he's in the carrier so I've been going out for longer walks in the morning and/or evening. He's 10 weeks and 15 lbs so it's been a great zone 2 workout and opportunity to listen to some of the longer podcasts I like.

    That onsie you have the baby in is adorable! He looks like a mini Joe to me. My 5 yo says your baby is cuter than he is, I tell him you both are cute. LOL. He then proceeded to try to make Shaun laugh ( hopefully I spelled his name right, sorry if not ). He doesn't quite understand how videos work sometimes lol.

    Hi Kayla! My baby was just like Sean and I made an appt around 3 weeks because I was so worried about him and she recommended Gerber Soothe Probiotic Drops and after about 2 days we had a new baby. She said their gut microbiome isn’t fully formed until 6 months so they get gassy easily.
    I tell all my new mom friends to get the Gerber Probiotic Soothe drops or some sort of gut Probiotics. Some people swear by gripe water, too.
    Also, we had to move the bassinet to my husbands side as my doctor also said the closer they are to mama the more they can smell us which makes them want us. Call me crazy, but I swear it worked (maybe I was so tired I just thought it worked 😂).
    I’m praying for you everyday! You are doing SO GREAT and doing so much! The way you are still making time to homeschool and have the patience to so that sleep deprived is amazing.
    You got this, mama!!!
    ❤😊

    Babies don't have a circadian rhythm until they are two months old. We can trick ourselves into believing they have a routine, but they don't. It's not bad, it's how newborns are wired.

  • @mbwilson8592
    @mbwilson8592 Год назад +1

    The "Snuza hero" is much less money and it actually monitors breathing. If no breathing detected for 10 seconds it will vibrate to arouse baby, and if that doesn't work it will set off a loud alarm. This isn't a pleasant thing to think about...but for babies, it's very rare for them to have their heart stop first. It's almost always a respiratory issue *first* and then the heart can be affected (meaning it can be too late at that point.) So, keeping that in mind...the heart rate monitors are useless in my opinion. You are correct that the owlet used to monitor breathing and heart rate. The fda threatened a lawsuit if they didn't discontinue that model 😏

    It could be normal but is that hives on his chest?? In the beginning of the video. My baby had a severe milk allergy and this would happen but not a severe reaction until we introduced solid foods that’s when they finally tested him. Maybe if you take in dairy it could affect him. You really have to push for the pediatricians to actually refer you to the allergist if you don’t push they’ll just blow it off. Ask me how I know. You’re doing a great job Kayla!
