I have to tell you that you helped me make my first pozole!!!! I’m 23 and my mom is a vegetarian so I wasn’t gonna get many tips from her lol I realized that I like my pozole thicker with more chile paste so I ended up using all of it. And I used a Goya seasoning packet with knorr and omg it’s the best I have ever had.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WILL TRY THIS RECIPE I've made it before it's just that I put the powder chili which it was so delicious I want to try it your way with how you done it w/ chili pods💞
Hi, if you decide to use the one that is dry ( maíz pozolero) after you prepare it you can add to your pozole since the beginning you don’t have to wait to the end. (I hope I am not confusing you)👍🏼😉
I like this method the best for adding garlic and onion puree in the pot with the meat. All the flavor stays in the pot and nothing to remove afterwards. Your method is easier too... saves time and two steps, you did not brown your meat or cook down your red sauce before adding as i see in other videos. I will have to try it your way then do a batch and brown the pork first and cook down the sauce and see if it makes a difference. Thanks!
@@cookingwithconchita9657 I cut the pork into 2" cubes and browned some of it, then added the onion/garlic that I blended with a cup of chicken broth, the cumin, oregano and salt. Then added the red sauce and the rest of chicken broth to cover, Then added hominy and two bay leaves stirred to combined. pressure cooked for 45 minutes. Garnished with cabbage, radishes, and lime. Also... I ended up straining and cooking the sauce for about 10-15 minutes before adding to meat. it was delicious!
I'm going to make a smaller batch and would like to just make everything in the instantpot (and not transfer to a bigger pot), do I just add the Chiles with the meat for 50mins? Also, how long would i cook it with the hominy?
Yes, add all the meat and the red salsa and when the meat is cooked you can add the hominy to the pozole. Close the lid again and let it rest 10 mins. The reason why you do this is because the hominy is pre-cooked.
@@cookingwithconchita9657 I used 3 guajillos and 3 anchos since I only had those available. And I used pork shoulder. But next time I will add a little pork feet for more flavor like you said. Otherwise, it was full of flavor and the meat came out very tender- My fiance approves!
@@jessicapargas4696 👍🏼nice, yes next time when you add pork feet you see a diference. 😉if you want to make your own hominy here is the link and you can make it in the instant pot is so easy and fast. And making your own will give the pozole an amazing taste. ruclips.net/video/F8LIdnihzlU/видео.html
Hi, I don’t know if you did the pozole or not! I am going to explain to you what you can do if you are not making a lot of pozole. You can go ahead and prepare your salsa first with The Who,e onion cut in 4 pieces. Prepare the salsa fallowing the steps and then add it to the pot before cooking the meat. Close the lid and set the time. The reason why I did it like the video is because I made a lot ( well more than what fits in the 6 qt IP) but if you are not making that much add the salsa with the meat at the beginning. I hope this answers your questions 👍🏼
If I use can hominy I do it until the end but if you prepare the dry hominy I do it at the beginning. Here is my step by step ruclips.net/video/F8LIdnihzlU/видео.html
No, because I wanted to pressure cook all my meat and I wanted more meat. I used a bigger pot to add the meat and then the hominy. But if you are not making that much pozole you can add the hominy when the meat is done. And you can add the Chile sauce at the beginning with the meat.
Shannon Nez I don't because I like to make a good amount of pozole. I like to do the meat using the instant pot, if I do it like that I can do more meat and after the meat is ready I use a big pot and do the rest there like adding the Chile sauce and also add the hominy. But if you are not making a lot of pozole you can go ahead and finish the pozole in the instant pot ;)
Hello, is it just me or did you forget to add the Knorrs chicken flavor??? I've watched the video several times and didn't see when or how much you added.
Thank you so much for asking👍🏼and just I did forget to tell you guys when to added. You can add the knorr when you blend the onion or the chili’s. . I added the knorr before I closed the lid but is better to blend it together with the other ingredients. The amount will depend on you . If you add salt you don’t wanted to be very salty. I like to add from 1-2 Tbs . 😉👍🏼
Taygan Sepulveda hi, I used 3 of each except for the pasilla ancho! If you don't want your pozole to be spicy don't use the pasilla ancho because they are a little spicy. ;)
Menudo is not supposed to have “granos” (hominy) butbi noticed in the US, they do add it. When I first saw it, I had to ask whether it was menudo or pozole! Pozole refers to the maize itself so I was so confused. I just run and bear it now.
MJ Z I had it both ways with and with out , I am not a big fan of hominy . But I know for sure I have to have it in my pozole ;) I guess in different places they do use them and in anothers they don't ;)
I am sorry 😐, you can add it when you blend the onion and garlic or after ! But add like 1-2 Tbs because you might add more at the end and you can add it with the salsa 👍🏼Happy New Year 🙏🏻

Hi which chile is the least hot? Thanks
I use guajillo & pasilla, they're not hot.
When you transferred the pork and stock to the bigger pot, along with the hominy, how much longer do you cook the pozole?
5 to 10 mins only it does not need a lot of extra time.
Thanks for the recipe! When do you add the hominy?
Jessica X hello, I add the hominy at the end of the process! Thank you so much for your visit and for your comment 👍🏼😊
wonderful.
davy Smith thank you ;)
When do u add the knor chicken
TheWatchtower123 Hello you add it before you put the Instant Pot lid on 😉
I wondered the same because there was no instruction for that ingredient.
Do you do quick release or natural release?
I like to leave mine for 10 min and then do a QR
When did you add the hominy
If I use can hominy I do it until the end but if you prepare the dry hominy I do it at the beginning. Here is my step by step ruclips.net/video/F8LIdnihzlU/видео.html
Did you pressure your pork with the hominy?
No, because I wanted to pressure cook all my meat and I wanted more meat. I used a bigger pot to add the meat and then the hominy. But if you are not making that much pozole you can add the hominy when the meat is done. And you can add the Chile sauce at the beginning with the meat.

So after your pork is done you don’t put it back into the instant pot?
