what a trip home that was and to see so many people waiting for us at City Hall!! WOW!! I don't even remember standing next to my brother, Tony during Jane Velez's interview. It was so chaotic and crazy that night. We were exhausted from the long bus ride home. I don't know how, but I ended up holding the Best Drumline trophy while my brother got to hold the DCI Championship trophy...a great memory to cherish forever! Here's wishing many more titles for The Cadets in years to come! - FHNSAB :)
Wow. This segment actually made me very emotional hahaha. Sometimes it's difficult to see how important drum corps is when all you think about are scores who's doing what show and yadda yadda. Thanks for the upload.
:45-47 Being serenaded by another marching band. The narrator knew what was coming 34 years ago by the same George Hopkins(earned the 1st 3peet)but lost, LOST all kinds of respect with all the bs he incorporated into marching band international currently!
Yep. Granted, that was the original philosophy of Dci originally from 71. But the Cadets really got that snowball rolling, especially late 90s through the 2000s.

I remember watching the final over here in England, a superb performance. 1983 was a great DCI year in general.
Wow...chills...I doubt there's will ever be community involvement and ownership of a corps like this again. A nice little slice of drum corps history.

Thanks! I've shared this with some of the people in the corps that year and they loved it :)
I love watching stuff like this.... Throw Back Thursday
George Hopkins made this possible.

The crowd chant in Allentown prelims. Very intimidating.
Small town heroes
WOW that doesn't happen this year...
0:46 DID SHE JUST CALL A DRUM CORPS A MARCHING BAND?!?! Disgraceful.
Love it. I go to Rio in the background at the end.
He has his facts wrong right? They won first in 1983 However, there would only have been 10 championships prior to that.
