  • Plini stopped by The Zoo to put on an awesome clinic, where he would partake in an insightful Q&A session, give us the rundown on his signature Strandberg, and playthrough a few of his most popular tracks!

I recently picked up the guitar after a 6 year gap. And I have been feeling the same about his advice. Learning other songs really helps visualize how things work on the fretboard. So I'm again starting to learn other songs and covers.
Saw strandberg on thomann website. Research led me to plini and I totally love his work.
Hoping to someday be able to afford one soon. 😍

Never been fond of headless guitar but I like the way his guitar looks like. Idk what it is

it's because there used to be very few models with often unappealing designs. there are many more models out there nowadays and some of them are gorgeous. I personally love the designs of padalka guitars and strandbergs. Steinberger spirits have never looked good, but the design of modern headless guitars is a lot more varied and advanced.

lavem rai it's because Strandbergs are "headless guitars", not guitars that are headless

Meanwhile, I'm just staring at that Caparison in the background...

classic music store tactic, focusing on the guitars in the background and not plini :D

I love plini but I find his playing weak sometimes specially when playing fast riffs live. Just a thought, his music is incredible regardless...

JAvier Varela I can imagine it would take a lot of practice to keep at a high level playing live... Unless your Guthrie 😉

i wouldve agreed with you 8 months ago but i just saw him play in brooklyn with periphery and he sounded better than on the records :) he has definitely gotten insane live

@John Kravitz I agree with you in that his composition style is amazing. I prefer it over the bands you mentioned but is not about speed is about playing accurately. If I record something in studio, not a solo, but a certain phrase I wanna be able to play that accurately, otherwise the song loses something distinctive. The feeling I get is that he's sloppy at times but it seems like he's gotten way better recently.

@@MrJavieravc well granted, there are so many other factors live. The mix overall mix wont be the same because obviously there are noisy crowds and such. And the guitar tones won't also be 100% the same. And obviously you are more prone to mistakes live
