A simple and very effective way of showing an example of how to use field parameters. Thanks

Field parameters aren’t limited to just measures, you can incorporate dimensions as well. If you put the parameter in another slicer and set it to show values you can also create a dynamic slicer that lets users pick what they want to filter on too. Additional, by adding columns to your field parameters you can link them in the modeling view and then you can use those new columns as filters to dynamically alter the available field parameter options across multiple visuals providing totally different pieces of analytical information!

Yes, it definitely would help instead of having multiple visuals, all in one. Thank you for awesome video.

Great explanation, is there a way to pair the measures belonging together?

This is perfect video and perfect features. I am glad they included it. Just not able to use with the Analysis Services Live Connection and that is also very needed. Hope it will come soon also.

These are great, I am using these in reports allowing users to choose what date format they want to see their data (day, week, month, quarter, year...etc), on the topic of this, I am trying to create a parameter that will allow a user group data in a matrix by (store, city, product type), how can I create an overall view?

Thank you, Michell! You’re the best! Your message is crystal clear, which makes difficult concepts easy to understand. Can you make a video about the new feature in Power BI: Calculation Groups?
Thank you again for putting the time to teach us DAX through your videos.

Can this be done with normal fields or does this only work with measures?

Thank you very much Michel for this easy way.
I believe that there is another way via using Calculation Groups in DAX Studio. But it is a little bit tricky.

When I create my parameters with day, month and quarter to insert on the X axis of a line graph, it accumulates the values in one point and does not work as in the video. What should I do to be able to return the correct list of dates?

Very nice. Thank you. Is there a way to have only 3 three slicer buttons (pairing sales, costs, and profit), so when costs are selected, both current and prior year are selected automatically?

Good question, I don't think the default field parameters support this functionality, however, you could possibly try creating a prior year calculation through a calculation group and that could change dynamically based on the "SelectedMeasure". Therefore, you would choose Cost to add to your chart and the prior years measure would automatically show prior year Cost. -Mitchell Pearson

Which version of Power BI are you using here? I’m on PBI Desktop 2.121.1642.0 (September 2023) and I don’t have this capability from what I can see, only a What-If parameter.

It is a preview feature. Go to Files - Options - Preview and turn on field parameters

i have a problem to combine two parameters and keeping multiple choice for measures working. In my graph I have also parameter for switching between Quarter/Monty/Week/Day on X axis. And then multiple choice for measures parameter doesn't work.

Is the parameter a table? if so, is there a relationship between the parameter and your tables in the datamodel?....Somehow its not working for me

Is there a method to filter a parameter by result of other measure. I can't figure out how to do it. So a measure "result1" reasult i.e 1, 2 or 3. I want to Parameter choose depends on this result so if it 1 -< choose first row from parameter etc. Without using any slicer. I
