This is brilliant. My Keurig started a slow leak a while back, then got to the point where it was leaking heavily and I was constantly wiping water from the counter. Yesterday I went to the store and got a small assortment of o-rings. Found the one that fit best and bingo... today the counter is bone dry. This is literally a 30 second, 10 cent solution. Thanks!!
I have a coffee maker similar to the one you showed on your video with the exact same probable. I went on RUclips because I find it helpfull to get answers to problems that no one else including the manufacture has. I know they want you to buy a new coffee maker lol. I found your post and after seeing what you did I invested $12.00 and got an O ring kit. I figured if it worked it saved me the cost of a new coffee maker. If it didn’t I wasted $12.00. Well It worked. Thank you so much for posting your post.
This is a life saver, that you soo much for posting this video!!! I have a cuisinart SS-15 and the k-cup side leaks out exactly like the keurig. I put a #8 o-ring on and now I can leave water in the reservoir overnight without waking up to a puddle all over my countertop in the morning 🙃☕️
I have a different version of the Keurig (K-Elite) so I was skeptical but this o-ring trick helped seal my keurig! Thank you for saving me from having to buy a new one!
I'm going to get an o-ring and try that! Every other video I looked at has me taking the machine completely apart, and MAYBE that will help. Thanks, and I'll let you know how it turns out.
Will try to give this a shot. I have the exact issue, exactly at that location after I troubleshot it a bit...I have my commercial unit for a month and it started leaking.
Some folks have let me know that in some cases, you might need to add a #8 o-ring to the water tank, AND then place a #7 o-ring on top of it. So then the #7 sits down inside the hole a bit further. Here's where to buy the O-Ring kit needed to fix this problem: amzn.to/38KjZNF Upgrade your Keurig Machine with these new options: * Keurig K-Supreme Coffee Maker 66oz - amzn.to/2QyYhWh * Keurig K-Classic K-50 Coffee Maker 6-10oz - amzn.to/3rkhOq7 * Keurig K-Slim Coffee Maker 8-12oz - amzn.to/3tTTmxz
Mine only leaks when it's pumping water, or pushing water into the cup. My first thought was the spot you fixed, but I'm thinking I'll have to take it apart. It may be the pump. This sucker is ten years old at least.
My brand new Keurig Express, a warranty replacement, leaked from the bottom the very first time I used it, and every time until I saw this post. With mine, the o ring on the reservoir wouldn't let it brew, so I put the o ring on the valve on the machine itself instead. So far no leaks!! Hope this helps someone!
Wonder why Keurig doesn’t send people An o ring or why aren’t they built with one ? Could it be these machines are meant to be thrown out after so long because they harbor bacteria or mold in the lines?
Mine is leaking brown fluid. Looks like coffee. It's not leaking clear from the water reservoir. Even when not brewing this happens. I have the Keurig elite model. Suggestions?
Not sure but since the coffee is at the end of the process, and right above the cup, not sure where it could be leaking coffee from. Must be some other dirty water in your heater. Rust?
You might want to see my other video about the Keurig that won’t pump water. It shows you how to open up the unit. Maybe look inside the top of yours for a leaking main tube?
Maybe I'll buy an o-ring kit and send it to Keurig with a note forwarding them to watch this video so we don't all have to go buy these kits for something that would cost them $0.10 to fix.
This method didn't work for me. I bought the set of O-rings suggested in the link and tried the multiple sizes. My machine still leaks. I have a K50 Keurig. Not only does my machine still leak, but when I tried to make a cup of coffee, trying different O-rings inside (one at a time).. the water couldn't be sucked from the tank into the machine because the ring is in the way of all the little holes. I had to fish the ring out with two steak knives, which scratched up the hole on the machine because the ring was too thick for my tweezers to grab. Waste of time and money 🙄

@@raltman3 glad it helped!!
This is by far the best explanation of solving Keurig water leakage. Thank you for saving me the trip and $150 to buy a new Keurig!!
Awesome! Yeah, I agree. These things are too expensive to toss them out. They need to reengineer this part of the machine!
Wow! Thanks so much. Was about to toss the machine and now with your help we are able to use the Keurig again without leakage!
Glad it helped!

Hey that’s great! Glad you saved it!!!

Great! Yes please let us know what you find with yours.
Worked like a charm! Thank you!
Great to hear that! Thanks for letting me know!
I wasn't sure this would work, but it did for my K-Elite. Thank you!
Great!!!
Thanks, been having this problem, just taking the water out till I got around to messing with it.....seems simple enough
Yeah it fixed mine for good. Don’t forget to consider putting the double o ring if putting only one doesn’t cover the gap and stop the leak.
Will try to give this a shot. I have the exact issue, exactly at that location after I troubleshot it a bit...I have my commercial unit for a month and it started leaking.
One month! That's crazy. Please come back here to let us know if it works for your commercial unit. Best of luck!

My watertank wouldn’t sit flat with both #8 and #7 on. Trying just #8. 🤞
Thanks 😊 gonna try it!! An O ring is a simple fix.

Thank you so much for posting this video. It worked perfectly for me!
Great!!
Thank you it worked!!!!
Thank-You... why they didn`t put one on from the factory amazes me.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try it out!
Good luck!!!
What o ring do i ask for at Home Depot? Or Lowes?
Genius! Saved me tossing a mostly perfectly good machine into the trash. Thank you.
So glad it helped!!!!
would this work with a Keurig K Elite? Mine looks a bit different when I take off the water tank.
I have heard that this works with many other variants. You may need to do other steps to open the top cover. Good luck!

Thanks for your comment!!!
Shame on Keurig for not adding a simple o-ring. But I am curious as to why such a simple fix wasn't considered? Thanks for saving me $100!
I think the original seal works for a while, but since it is prone to failure they really need to redesign it.
Is it safe to use once it's leaked? I hadn't used mine for awhile. After brewing 1 cup it leaked all over the counter. Not sure what to do.
The water is just leaking out of the reservoir usually. Try this o-ring fix and see if that helps you.
Wonder why Keurig doesn’t send people
An o ring or why aren’t they built with one ? Could it be these machines are meant to be thrown out after so long because they harbor bacteria or mold in the lines?
Not sure. This is a fix, but overall I wish they improved the initial design.
Thanks!
Glad it helped!!
Garden hose o-ring look exactly like that and you can buy a pack of 4 in home depot garden shop.
Aren’t those too large?

Fixed mine!
Great!!
I added a 8 o ring. Still leaking and only got a little coffee
Sorry that happened. Try this: place the #8 o-ring on there. Then place a #7 on top. See if that helps. Sometimes that works also.
It worked! 😊
Glad it helped!!
I was able to purchase the O-Ring at a local auto parts store. Ordering the O-Ring set from Amazon would mean 3-4 days without early morning coffee.
Thanks I was wondering where to get the ring from.
Awesomeness. Thank you sir! ✌
Glad it helped!
Great fix.
Thanks!
mine leak only when it's making a cup. it makes less than half a cup and the rest leaks on the counter. I guess keurigs are turning out to be crap.
Do you know why is my water going into the overflow only and not into my k-cup 😭
We have the same thing and it leaks everywhere
Thank you....the leak is gone!!!!
That’s great!! Glad it helped!!
It worked. Yay!
That’s great!!!!
i don't have o-rings but do have my favorite tape, Teflon! gonna try that.
Great idea. That should help.
Thanks the wife is mean without coffee
Glad it will help you keep the peace!
