@JoelsTastyRide Happy knowing that you and yours are back in the "homeland" haha! It's been awhile since I've commented and said hello my friend but with that said, you are the type of person that will always stay true to being the respectful, admirable person from years ago! And a farang that speaks Thai fluently, not to mention reads and writes it, will always be impressive in my eyes, which should mean a lot more, considering both my parents are Thai, born right in Bangkok, who then moved to America about half a century ago before having me (man, that really does confirm that I'm getting up there in age LOL), and lucky for me, they had the insight and pride to speak to me in Thai at home, allowing me to at the very least, be able to speak it fluently - hence why I'm so very impressed as well because your pronunciation and vast Thai vocabulary, including your ability to read and write in Thai, unequivocally puts this guy, whose 100% Thai, just American born, to utter and complete shame. But, because you're you and you love Thai food just as much as myself, I'm completely fine with it, in fact very honored!!! ☺👏BTW, in case you somehow have an amazing memory, its your boy, Veerasak! Haha!
@@Sakratic Veerasak, I am just seeing this today and... wow. What a comment. I feel like I don't deserve such good words, I really appreciate you sharing a bit of your history and experience and, also a bit of family history in the past years. Wow. Hey for now though, its late Sunday evening here, just wishing you a great day (Sunday morning for you in the USA :) I hope this finds you well (and possibly about to enjoy some Kra-Pao in the very near future?). Speak again soon!!!! Much love. Joel
I love his slogan. 😅 บริกานดุจญิติมิตร = We serve you like family and friends. ทุกชีวิตแล้วแต่ดวง = It depends on everyone's luck. As he explained, when it gets busy he might not be able to serve everyone. If you're unlucky, you'll miss out. That's a very common rhyme pattern in Thai. The sound of the last syllable in the first sentence is matched somewhere in the middle of the next sentence. You hear it in Thai songs all the time. But he also rhymed the first and third syllables of the first sentence: "Dut yaht mit" "Tuk chee wit". Very clever. He obviously put a lot of thought into it. It's difficult to translate that into English and keep both the literal and sense meaning, make it sound catchy, and still make it rhyme. The best I can come up with is: "Here you are treated as family and friends. Are we able to serve you? On your luck it depends!"
Nooooo way right ON JK that’s awesome!! Well then. This one really IS for you, I was so impressed to see the huge size and have it be so tasty. Usually those things don’t come together so well.

I've never been a fan of pad kaprao. I'll eat it if nothing else is available, though. Still, I enjoyed watching Joel tuck into it. That's a huge plate of food. I wonder if anybody's managed to eat the whole thing in one sitting.
@@JoelsTastyRideI was just at the Laab spot by the hospital in CM for brunch and it didn’t disappoint! By the way I try pad graprow all over Thailand and Marks at his restaurant is in my top spots. It’s tied flavor wise with a place at Ruam sab market in Bkk (not the space graprow) but price wise Ruam Sab has to take first place simply because it’s half the price or less. So I’m excited to try this one since it looks so good and see where it fall on my graprow list 555555
Thailand is a food lover's paradise. You will not be disappointed bc they have everything and its soo so very good. And there is so much to do with the City, beaches, hill tribes, small river towns, jungles, and its so affordable.
It's one of the five basic tastes, usually described as savory. Certain foods have umami: meats, shellfish, mushrooms, and tomatoes to name a few. MSG is considered the purest form of umami.
Haha, sure!! Umami is one of the 5 tastes that our tongue can feel, it’s as much a feeling though as it is a flavor. Satisfaction, fullness of flavor, basically MSG is umami in a single ingredient.
Hey Forex!! Awesome to see you!!! Well, I am pretty good at estimating the calorie amounts in food (I do it once or twice every single day for myself), I guess this platter is somewhere between 3600-4000 Calories. So yes, any person exercising 1-2 hours a day should definitely eat this much food per DAY (but good luck to anyone who thinks they can eat this plate in one MEAL :) )
Hey Walker thanks for watching! In Thai this one is กระเพรา have you visited Thailand (or a Thai restaurant?). It’s a great dish! Probably the most famous dish of all single order menus in Thailand.

12:16 a.m here in Canada and you made me crave pad ka-prao, thanks a lot joel 😂 god bless❤
Oh dude its 1am and im hungry 🤤
Sydney :) Rock on! Thank you so much for hanging with me for this one!
Great job
What's the restaurant name?
I thought I was in danger of saying it too many times as the beginning :) haha. It is "Pad Kra Pow Taa Nuad" writing it in English characters of course... you can always find the google maps exact location in every video I make, always in the "Description" section.
ผมดูตอนเที่ยงคืน หิวเลย555
Tabr!! Haha, oh no... that is good to see (thanks for supporting these videos!) but dangerous to do, and Im sorry for the midnight hunger!!!

Pad kra pao is a meal of life! (ㅅ´ ˘ `)
Another one of the best comments! Haha, simple truth Kristoffer!
I've never been a fan of pad kaprao. I'll eat it if nothing else is available, though.
Still, I enjoyed watching Joel tuck into it. That's a huge plate of food. I wonder if anybody's managed to eat the whole thing in one sitting.
I will eat next time surely.
Just made my list to try (I’ve got a map with mark weins recommended spots) I’ll go there for lunch today!
Hahaha lovinThailand that’s awesome, hey even I (even Mark!!) occasionally follow “The Mark Wiens” map :)
Had alway like pad kra prao moo no matter where you are, been waiting to try Phed Mark from Mark Wiens store. have you been there ??
Thailand is a food lover's paradise. You will not be disappointed bc they have everything and its soo so very good. And there is so much to do with the City, beaches, hill tribes, small river towns, jungles, and its so affordable.
Amizing joel 😊
ALEX man, hey hey, I hope youre doing great!!
Can you explain umami?
It's one of the five basic tastes, usually described as savory. Certain foods have umami: meats, shellfish, mushrooms, and tomatoes to name a few.
MSG is considered the purest form of umami.
Haha, sure!! Umami is one of the 5 tastes that our tongue can feel, it’s as much a feeling though as it is a flavor. Satisfaction, fullness of flavor, basically MSG is umami in a single ingredient.
Cooked meat, mushrooms, seaweed, and tomatoes, I think these are the foods that have the most strong umami.
Hahah nice one! I didn’t read your reply before I replied, with my own, that’s awesome look how similar they are!!
ยิ่งอายุมากขึ้น คุณ Joel หน้าเหมือนเฮีย Mark Wiens 😅😁🤭

I’ve never seen that one before!! I like it!!
that platter is for one person here in africa
How are you and mark not brothers!!
Urgent change hairdresser Make you a haircut like helmet
Very good comment :) :) haha, yes you CAN call it helmet hair, good eyes!
I think it could do without the MSG and sugar
Nope, this is Thai basil not Holy Basil, it has a strong scent similar to licorice, and holy basil smells similar to cloves, not the same thing.
Hey Walker thanks for watching! In Thai this one is กระเพรา have you visited Thailand (or a Thai restaurant?). It’s a great dish! Probably the most famous dish of all single order menus in Thailand.
