Luciano Pavarotti is not just a "popular singer in Italy" - he is the MOST famous operatic tenor in the world. Along with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras they formed a power tour called "The 3 tenors", check them out and with that hopefully you can open your mind to the beautiful world of opera a bit :) ♥♥♥ PS: Luciano's "Ave Maria" is a gem as well by itself. Get your tissues ready girl ;)

His performances in arias such as in "La Boehme" for instance are what gives one a true example of the actual breadth of his talent. He was an icon of the opera world and why not begin there? This fad of his using that voice to belt out "popular" stuff was IMO, casting pearls before swine. Even the non-operatic pieces like " Torna a Surriento" are a better choice. ruclips.net/video/wbdM7yuNGYI/видео.html

Luciano “Pav-o-rawatti” is an Italian opera singer but he had a lot of respect for other forms of music. I love several of his songs but my favorite is Nessun Dorma. It translates to None Shall Sleep. It’s from Turandot about an unknown prince who falls in love with an icy princess at first sight. Any man who wants to marry her must answer three riddles correctly or they will be beheaded. He answers her riddles but she still does not want to marry him. He gives her another chance by telling her if she guesses his name by morning she can execute him. So she forces all of her subjects to stay awake and search for his name. In the last line he sings “fade you stars, at dawn I will win”. The best part of it is that it sounds victorious the way he sings it!

@@Verlopil 🤠 Wouldn't you have loved being in an audience to witness Caruso perform live? Wow. I'm in Galveston, Texas, and I believe he performed at our Grand Opera House back in the day! 👍🗣

@@johnenglish1955 That would have been amazing! I've read that his voice was so powerful that they had to position him 20 feet back from the recording setup so he didn't overwhelm the equipment. And yet he had such a wonderful emotion and nuance to his performance. If there were a time-traveling trip to hear all the great tenors you can bet I'd be there for it!

What a great song this is, one of the all time classic greats and then to see it performed with an operatic legend like Luciano Pavarotti, well that was pure heaven to listen to. Thank you to whoever suggested this. Fantastic!

I am a country boy born in Indiana and i know Pavarotti is the GOAT of opera. But lets not take anything away from James Brown the God father of soul.

The way you guys love the emotion in music/voices, you’d probably love opera. And Pavarotti is the best tenor that has ever lived so maybe give ‘Nessun dorma’ or ‘Ave Maria’ a listen. 🗣

Pavarotti is one of the fabled 3 Tenors, along with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. They’re probably the most well-known opera singers of our generation.

Luciano Pavarotti is probably the most famous opera singer in the world. He is Italian, but the whole world knows him. He passed away, but once in a while, he would do duets with pop singers.

THIS IS OFF THE CHAIN!!! Never heard of it. I would not have believed it if you told me they sang together. They killed it. I guess if you put two professionals together they're gonna do something good. Luciano is Opera, a whole new dimension of music. Love you Guys, Paul

    Pavarotti's verse translated:
Man chases the power but doesn't know
great limits has to be how it will be done
In his palm he holds an idea
    that doesn't live
    in his imagination… he wanted
If you don't notice that then
    nothing makes sense
if you live only for yourself

I saw it one time. It's never been put on television again but I know of and I forgot all about it. Thank you internet and thank you rob Squad!
