"John Player Norton Special for sale to a good home". Mission accomplished! There's never been a more deserving second owner. Don't you just love a happy ending! Enjoy Billy 👍
What a machine… Beautiful sounding from that big twin
What an ABSOLUTE STUNNING piece of Motorcycling history!!! How you guys locate these bikes is a story on it own!!! Your buddy who’s presenting that Norton is a walking book of facts.. I could listen to what he’s seen and experienced for hours… Seems like a really neat fella with lots of life’s experiences under his belt!😎🤣
They call Billy The Professor, for a valid reason. He raced in the Isle of Mann numerous times, a very potentially lethal race in the UK, and won several times. He also got married to his wife at the Isle of Mann. Billy has been sponsored by numerous motorcycle teams, since he was a teenager.
That looks insane.
A masterpiece of engineering. John Player & Sons, most often known simply as Player's, was a tobacco and cigarette manufacturer based in Nottingham, England. Thank you Ken
I'm dribbling...my father had a Norton when I was a child I'm 57 now ... regards Richard London UK 🇬🇧..best channel on you tube...PS I showed my father this and he's 84 now and said they run better with Bob Dunstall exhausts,
My cousin Rob Williams had one brand new in 1974. I remember seeing it for the first time as a 11 year old and looking at it in amazement . It really got me interested in bikes. It was not long before I had one. It was not a JPN. It was a BSA Bantam 175. But it was a start.
Nice boots 👍😎 take it up to a 100
What an amazing time capsule.
What a special bike! Glad to see it's in the hands of you guys, who will keep its originality. I'm always blown away by the variety, and the quality of bikes you guys take in. Truly impressive, and a joy to watch for us motorcycle fanatics.
Wow I got a blast on a Norton cafe racer when I was 18 .Had ace bars on it .Adrenalin was up when I got off .Man I didn't realise how BIG the U.S bike market is .Its astounding 😮
now thats a rare bird! keep up the good work boys
had a 14k miles black/ gold 75 850 Cammando back in the 80's I bought not running....cheap$...got it home before even thinking "British bike ....left hand shift !...oh nooooo...." ..1975 left hand shift :))))..took a few months of praying and making financial sacrifices to the Lucas gods but he eventually roared back to life from a long sleep .Saw one of these JPS's at the Olney Maryland British motorcycle days show and was just blown away at how cool that thing was......and hundreds of other bikes I had never seen before....great event if you've not been :)
Amazing time piece for the museum!
Stunning race profile , a early example of a road racer. Game changer ?!
The best motorcycle channel in the world.
Wow that's a jem. Was in a motorcycle accident yesterday broken ankle harley sportster wrecked hit and run lucky to be alive thank you JESUS!!!
So sorry! Glad your ok!
I remember when I was 18, 1974, my local Norton dealer in Southend -on-sea, Essex, UK had one in the window, I was riding a 69 Bonnie then, really wanted to trade it in but couldn't afford at the time. Some ten years later I bought a Mk 3 Interstate, did a lot of miles on that bike. What I'd give for a JPN now !
Finding a bike this rare, and this well cared for, on FB Marketplace, is almost the equivalent of winning the Powerball. God was definitely looking out for y'all, because as you've said before, and it's the same way in Louisiana, the bikes being sold on FB Marketplace, are usually highly undesirable pieces of garbage, that were poorly maintained and not taken care of. Awesome Job, Professor, As Always. I truly love the specific style of T-shirt that Billy is wearing in this video. I called Jr a while back, wanting to order a black one, and a red one in XXL. Sadly, he told me GasGas no longer makes them. If you should come across some, in an XXL size, that maybe you didn't know that you had, with all of your stock, in red, black, or both, or if GasGas starts making them again, please let me know, because I will buy both colors in an XXL. Thanks Brother. ML&R. PS. I can't wait to see that Barn Find Honda CR 500, when y'all finish it up! 🙂😎
There were 2 sold in east peoria IL. I found both of them about 10 years ago. One was in great condition, the other was in poor condition. Both were 1974.
Amazing it started without any carb work!
Hey billy those boots look real nice!
I know there is another in a lovely garage of a private home near Southampton. It's sat next to a DBD34. Along with a few others. They all sound lovely.
Totally wicked Norton!
Was the bomb in its day. Then came the inline four cb750. I remeber the older guys growing up with the 750 and 850 camandos
The gearboxes let Williams down on the works bikes. Original exhausts inc.down pipes were, as you say black (to mimic the works racers) with 'annular discharge' silencers. The Dunstall 'decibel' silencers are rare, sound much better. I feel they would not detract from the value. Carbs must be tickled before starting from cold. The choke slides are only necessary when its Winter.
What a great find!
Beast!!! 😍🥹🤤💪🏼🎨 Thanks Gentlemen! 👊🏼🍀
My daily ride is a 71 commando roadster. I love this video.
Nice kap. You tune and runne hard kap . live the loud pipes is jetted for them !! ❤🎉
Удивил первый раз вижу этот мотоцикл 🏍!!!
Badass bike kap
God bless America 🇺🇸
Wow I've never seen that bike. Amazing.
You did it again kap . i like to see the engine ! 🎉🎉
Full poweer Norton!!¡!😁😁😁🤣🤣🦾🦾🦾🦾
Perhaps the best British bikes ..Norton
Bought a new 72’ Norton 750 in my last year of high school. Had the "small" Orange 🍊 gas tank. I coasted into gas stations 3 times! Loved it.
The film short circuit came to mind when I seen it from the front
That’s awesome
Sweeeet bike!!👍🏾👍🏾
US Market got the coolest British bikes at the end of the British motorcycling industry!
Beautiful Bike
Had a dunstall decibel on my Honda cg125 ,had an adjustable rear cone to vary the amount of gas released through a number of holes 🙏🤠🇬🇧🤘
I had to look up what exactly a CG 125 was. Fun little commuter bike!
@@angrytater2456 Insane 100mpg
@@ianmangham4570 The saying "it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast" rings very true to me. I hate that small displacement bikes are few and far between.
@@angrytater2456 I'm with you on that one ,so much fun thrashing a little one and tuning it especially a little 2 stroke, I still miss my suzuki PE175 I had late 80s 🤠🤟💯🇬🇧🙏🇺🇲👍
Epical unobtainability . I can't spell but i can smell what you're cooking. GBA🇺🇸
Sweet
First one I have seen.
Hi,Norton 1 jours avec,1jours à pieds 😂👌💪🏻🙏🇫🇷
How can you tell if you're just past top dead center when you're positioning the kick starter? On my kick start british bike (64 Triumph 650) I just hop on and kick it. It normally starts on the first kick, so I figure I'm doing it right, but I have no idea how to find TDC with the kickstart.
I did not need to see this during my lunch break. Now I'm going to have to hide my boner for the rest of the work day!
John players are cigarettes here its not a person ,no filters
I fought back against my stupid brother and his cohorts with a powroll kitted cb750 with fairing and exhaust .
Past 120 you might have to turn left to go right.
Just saying.
