      Thank you. The Aurora action that night was very special, fortunately it was a mostly clear night in a week full of snow storms.

      Wie ist das Licht im Dezember? Ist es da nicht fast durchgehend dunkel?

    Sehr schönes Video , toll die Orte wieder zu sehen, an denen ich im Januar 2024 war. Die Aurora war bei mir leider nicht so intensiv, aber dafür hat das Licht der tief stehenden Sonne tagsüber entschädigt.

      Danke. Das Licht ist in der Tat einzigartig, den ganzen Tag lang "Golden Hour". Wir hatten Anfang Februar hauptsächlich Schnee und noch mehr Schnee und hatten einmal besonderes Glück gehabt mit einer überwiegend klaren Nacht.

    Great! What lenses did you use for the wide angle aurora shots?

    • @scubaachim
      @scubaachim  8 месяцев назад

      The Samyang 12mm F2, Fuji 14mm F2.8 and the Fuji kit lens 18-55 F2.8, all used wide open.

      @andreabuser11 8 месяцев назад

      @@scubaachim Thank you! I also use the Samyang 12 mm with my fuji camera but I seem to have problems to get really sharp pictures.

      @@andreabuser11 Focusing at night time is tricky, particularly because on most lenses the infinity focus marks are rather inaccurate. Best to try during the day and remember where the sweet spot is. There is always a (normally very remote) chance that your particular lens is faulty.

    very nice. you should try 60fps

    • @scubaachim
      @scubaachim  8 месяцев назад +1

      60fps looks great (here's another timelapse I did in 60fps: ruclips.net/video/wED1S2nEkIc/видео.html), but it wasn't an option for this video.
      My drone is quite old and only capable of 30fps, the timelapse is made of 000's of stills. Given the amount of stills I've shot, going to 60fps would produce very short clips, if I slow them down in post, then you're back to 30fps. The aurora is moving quite fast so I would have to switch to video rather than timelapse for 60fps, which wouldn't give you the same quality. It's a trade off.
