thanks for all the great videos buddy.
Glad you like them!
What type of underlayment or felt is best. Also, when you nail down doesn't the underlayment get compromised, e.g. with the flashing nailed down and tiles? What the right way too ensure once the underlayment or felt is punctured by the nail(s), I know they have to be nailed, but does the underlayment or felt seal smartly is using the correct nails? Also, storm collars- should they be used and what is the best sealants for that and/or fixing slightly broken tiles? Thanks much for such great videos!
I will do my best to answer your questions. As far as the best underlayment goes, I personally like using polyglass Polystick, MTS plus, I have a video you can watch on this. It is a self adhered underlayment that we have had great success with. As far as nails, penetrating underlayment, you are correct. That is why I like using a self adhered underlayment, it does a great job sealing around each nail. As long as you use a good underlayment, the nails that hold the tiles down should not be a problem or a cause of leak. Storm callers are a good option and definitely don’t hurt. And as far as sealants go home, I am currently working on a comparison video, so you can keep your eye out for that. But until then, I like using Structural and one adhesive, it is manufactured by chem link. Thank you for supporting my channel and your questions.
