You are so different from allll the online teachers I have ever tried to learn from. You are really an awesome teacher 😊❤ Where have you been all this time. I m soo glad I found you. Thank you so much 😊
Thank you Lynden … I decided to start playing the alto saxophone again a few months ago, after not playing for over 45 years. Your videos help me get back into playing. Thank you so much.
Hiya Bonnetiere, thanks for this and you’re most welcome, I really appreciate your feedback and I’m so happy to hear that you’re playing again 👍👍👍🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎 keep it up 👍
I am inspired! I have a granddaughter that is playing trumpet in middle school band class. I was telling her this past weekend about pentatonic scale and chord tones. This was all new to her . I told her would like to come to her home about twice a w 11:46 eek so she and I could practice together and she said I have a friend who plays saxophone, so she is very receptive to my offer. This has given me the very thing to start our practice sessions with. Thanks for the video. (Bringing Lynden to Rual Texas).😊
Lynden Thanks , another video underpinning the benefits of using backing tracks for practicing scales . It makes a massive difference to practice sessions . Your passion for teaching is amazing .
Thank you Lynden for another great tutorial. Your phrasing is really nice even when you were going up and down the scales with the dynamic changes and tonguing. It will be great if you can do a video on this, thanks again.
George thank you for your kind comments and I’m really glad that the video is useful. I’ll definitely look into making a video about dynamic tonguing and I have made a video here about dynamic phrasing, take a look and tell me what you think ruclips.net/video/x6mX3moExtk/видео.htmlfeature=shared 🎷🎷🤝🤝😎😎
You are an amazing teacher! Shame it’s late, as so want to go and play my sax right now. Can’t wait to try this tomorrow as have been feeling a little flat about my playing the last couple of days. Do you have any advice as to what is the best thing to get to tune your sax to? Thanks.
Thank you so much, that’s very kind of you to say 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎 I’m lucky to have a piano here so I tune my sax to that, and you could get a concert C note from RUclips if you search for it and adjust your sax. Does that help?
Hi Lynden. I am a newcomer - both as a subscriber and a member. I am 78, living in Norway, started playing sax 4-5 years ago. I am very much inspired by this video and also by the video about improvising over Greensleeves. But I have a couple of questions regarding both of them: I believe that both the apps and the backing track in the Greensleves video are in Concert Key. So how do I relate to them with my Tenor in Bb? When written C, I play D - When written Am, I play Bm? Or?? And I wish there was a link to contact you, but I do not see it, therefore writing as a comment here. Hoping for an answer very soon. Thank you. Cheers. Hans Joergen Rasmussen.
Hi Hans, thanks for your comments. I haven’t done a video on Greensleeves so not sure about that but please feel free to email me lynden@saxandhoney.com 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
There’s iReal pro, and soon Quartet will have an android offering. I have a special promotion on at the moment, buy my major scale course and get iReal pro for free 🤝🤝
They all have different genres and pre loaded tracks, plus there are different musicians on each one and that offers you hundreds of new licks by great sax players. Download them all, they’re just fantastic 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
When are you going to launch your own ‘inner circle’ membership based paid product and courses? I would like the discounted rate for first members. Thanks!
I’m working on a big project for a membership website. The challenge is I work full time teaching private lessons and I’m fully booked, I’m running this channel too and making the time is difficult. I do offer a membership plan on my “buy me a coffee” which offers some cool stuff for a monthly subscription though and I’d be very grateful if you would like to join 🤝🤝👍👍🎷🎷 buymeacoffee.com/lyndenblades
hey lynden i like your vids, but what about approaching playing 'quotes' when improvising, i can quote 3--4 different sniperts of tunes that i can remember because i have played them over and over, you have a good way of explaining things but other people i watched is far too technical i get lost, keep up good work
The hard part is to sound consonant, that is to play mostly chord tones on the downbeat. Maybe 80 % . Less than 50% sounds like you are "out", dissonant.
I put £15 towards your computer. And am asking everyone else to do the same. Cause the videos are pure gold!!😊
Wow Ari, I’m extremely grateful to you, thank you so much 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
