Don't understand why anyone would give this video a thumbs down or a sarcastic remark, it's a great idea utilising a space that normally rubbish gets kicked under.
Well that looked like the appropriate use of materials that were laying around to hand, and then knocking up a perfectly useable drawer for a very specific and intended purpose. It was quick to make, it was cheap and it works - whats not to like? To all the haters - what did you make today? Thank you Matthias.
I was like, oh no! Not another drawer! I'm not gunna watch another draw build...but at the end all I could do was "wow". Dagnabbit Matthias, I can't not like your videos every time!
I remember following closely when he was getting to 1M subscribers. Then I come back a couple months later to find out that it's 1.2M. Truly an amazing channel featuring an interesting man doing what he loves and sharing it with the world.
This wheel system is brilliant ! Not that is a surprise considering all things you've done before but it's so simple and work so good. Love your vids, keep it up !
Matthias, thanks for all the inspiration and entertainment. Two days ago I had the same thought about setting up the router, and stepped to the 6x48 loaded with 40-grit to rough shape a similar handle out of scrap cherry. Cleaned it up with some finer paper and was done before I knew it.

I would love to see Matthias jumping into the drawer, and rolling with the drawer in the shop.
Bonjour from France. I'm flying around your channel and discovering it (being 10 years late)... Danke schön for what you are doing, this is very inspiring.
I am always on the lookout for storage places in my shop. It never occurred to me to use all the space beneath my three benches or under my wood lathe bench. I'm in the process of rebuilding this bench and I think I'll incorporate this ingenious idea. It has wheels to move it into better locations so I'll have to figure out how to make drawer to hang underneath. Thank you!!
It's great to see you using using entry level tools and keeping true to your roots so anyone can get into the hobby. It goes to show true craftsmanship is dependent on dedication rather than money; which is an invaluable lesson. You're in inspiration sir! You are the modern day Bob Vila if that is a fair comparison.
Good to see you used hand hammered brad nails! Any construction you can do by hand is good. Keeps you sharp! I have made these using power chair wheels. Thankz
Wow, real nails! Good ol' woodworking :D anyway, it's weird but I find watching you do some woodworking (or explaining or whatever else) is just incredibly relaxing. Not boring in any way, of course, just really soothing. Yeah, I know that I'm weird.
This is very nice. I like to mention, that OSB will likely to wrap over time, and the bottom will scrub the floor. So it will probably need some reinforcement from the inside later on.
Super clever wheel setup. You are a crafty son of a gun! Thanks for taking the time to put the build on video.

And the "Uggliest Hack of the Month" goes to Mr. Wandel... Kidding! I love you hacky tricks like these plywood recesses instead of washers. By the way I can't remember last time I saw a woodworker on RUclips using plain-old nails. Nice!
I like how you positioned the wheels, i never had the necessity of doing something like this but in the future i will have it and now i know how to do it good and easy, thanks.
Brilliant, I'm going to build one tonight. Thanks for the simple tool storage solution. I will be putting a thin top on mine to keep out dust and debris.
I enjoy these upcycling-type things quite a bit. We throw way too much stuff away. It's good to see things being turned into functional objects instead of landfill.
So delighted that Wintergarten found your channel and website helpful. You should colab with him on the more technical aspects of his woodworking. You are a good wood elf.
Some good o'l fashioned Matthias.....ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Best way to start the morning. (your ingenuity and creativity in solving even the simplest of problems never ceases to amaze me.)
Great video the funny thing I was working on a building one of these. But for under my daughter's bed. Was in the planning stage and mine was overly complicated . Always enjoy watching your channel needless to say my plans went into the waste bin. Thanks for the path correction.
Great space saving idea. My concern would be the OSB used on the bottom. Over time the weight from the tools will cause the OSB to sag and rub the floor. Obviously a bridge to cross when it comes about and a brace in the middle of the inside will be easy to add. Thank you for your content. Always stimulating.

Matt W Till the osb sag, he will find an other free peace of wood for this... for now its good enough
This is 3/4" OSB. Same stuff that is used in the 12" spans for floor joists. Much heavier loads in that situation and no problems with sagging (I'm specifically talking about shed/shop situations that are unlike homes and don't have 2 layers of 3/4 material for the flooring)
I live in a country which is famous for its forests and timber exports but where plywood is virtually unobtainable - OSB is the standard panelling material, including for the outside gable ends of houses! I use 12mm OSB for shelves with no problem so long as they are suitably supported. A couple of coats of Teak stain produce an interesting finish.
Great idea. I need something similar, but the floor under my workbench is uneven. I think I’ll have to hang it from underneath the workbench with some slides.
My cheap Black and Decker resists drops like that without any problem, can´t imagine the Frankestein he is using having problems with something like that, but the bit holders don´t, even the best ones bends.
I think there is a significant amount of your videos that start with "I'm making this out of old rollerskate wheels and scrap wood" love it lol
Don't you love making stuff? I sure do. Makes me happy to see others who feel the same way! Thanks for sharing this fantastic video.
Don't understand why anyone would give this video a thumbs down or a sarcastic remark, it's a great idea utilising a space that normally rubbish gets kicked under.
6,800 approvers. 84 idiots. That's fair enough; they'll be the ones the zombies eat first anyway. ;-)
I did the same thing at least 20 years ago. Store all the short pieces of exotic hardwoods in there. Works great. Even made my own wheels. Thanks. Jon

You are one of the greatest things on RUclips. Love the comment "No one is going to see... except about 100k people on RUclips."

Love the use 2 clamp extension trick !

see if it will break by jumping into it.
I was sure that was coming.
He did in a previous version.
Nice job! Loved your integral washers, the wheel design as a whole, and the simplicity of the drawer pull.
Steve Ramsey would be proud to see you using his steel pin joinery technique
Bonjour from France.

Nice design recessing the wheels! Thanks for sharing.
yeah, just amazingly off the charts amazing ... nothing like it.

Love what you did with the wheels. Recessing them doesn't take away from the depth of the drawer. Nice idea!!

Thanks again Matthias. Such practical DIY projects (designed and built so well), are a pleasure to watch. Love your channel.
“And next Im making a handle out of some old firewood”
Classic Matthias.
Super cool drawer my friend.

You and John from I Build It are very inspirational.
You always amaze me with your ideas and abilities. What a smart man! Thanks for the videos.

Something as simple as making a box with wheels and yet still giving me inspiration and ideas ☺
5:31 lmao, your old firewood looks better than the new wood I buy for projects
I don't JUST come for the machine gun hammering. Nice video! I like the wheel wells especially.
So delighted that Wintergarten found your channel and website helpful. You should colab with him on the more technical aspects of his woodworking. You are a good wood elf.

Love the wheel idea. Kudos, sir,,,you're a genius
Such a quaint box Matthias, good job!
Such a cleverly simple design. Great work!
brilliant on using the two clamps to make a bigger clamp. I never thought to do that so thanks
Love the low profile of the skate wheels - even small castors lose so much depth, and won’t take the weight you want anyway.
Great idea! Need to do the same for under my bench, which is also based on your design! Thanks!
That handle looks so nice!!
has to be some of the more satisfying video on RUclips
leaving that bit of raised wood for washers was genius.
Love your wheel ideas.
I made a pair of these a few years back when you made a earlier version... really like the roller skate wheels. Thanks for sharing.
This is such a good idea and I like how you mounted the wheels, very creative.
I made one of these last week. But it took at least five times longer. And turned out one tenth as good.
a cool project - i wish i had a workshop like yours - great stuff
We should all wish we had a brain like his!
Awesome use of reclaimed materials!
I also like the way he extended the reach of his clamps. I’ve actually never seen that trick before.
Nice ides, I like the way the wheels make it move only in and out.
I love the "Fix It Felix" treatment for the corner nailing!
Great job as always Matthias. I think that I shall use this to build some under bed drawers.
You re the best.I liked wheel design very much.
Matthias: you are da best. thanks for sharing

Your bandsaw skills rock. Good vid.

This not 3/4. It is 1/2 inch. And it WILL sag.....eventually. thanks for playing
Kühn piece of wood. Peace out.

love that track saw.
was looking for a way to wheels like that. great idea and thanks
Now that is a cool Drawer!
Very nice drawer!!
Another video about making a drawer. Yet I still enjoy them
Great project. Thanks for the video and take care.
Great as Always. I love how you solve problems.
A great tool box Matthias!
Utility build, utility mats. Very nice.
I know exactly where I'm going to use this. Everywhere!
Great use of scrape wood, liking the rollerblade wheels.
Such a cool design
Schönes Video, super Idee mit den eingebauten Rollen ! 👍😀
Nice design. Thanks for the ideas.
Clever trick with recessing the plywood to make a spacer.
.
Dream job to get paid to organize your shop. Keep living the dream Mathias.
Like the wheel housing 🤩
Great idea to recess the wheels.
Those “powerhammer” fast forwards always crack me up :)
Very good video. I feel smarter when I watch your vids. 👍🏾
Great idea. I need something similar, but the floor under my workbench is uneven. I think I’ll have to hang it from underneath the workbench with some slides.
Love your drawer, thank you for sharing your amazing video
Old firewood is ashes. Great video!
You is excelent in your projects. Grettings for you Matthias
Matthias would be a good homesteader, use what you have to make what you don't have :-)
I like using fire wood to get small pieces of hardwood :-)
good job!
was going to suggest getting a brad nailer but hammering at warpspeed looks much better.
Nearly didn't watch this one. But the skate board wheel rollers were worth the price of admission. Heading didn't do the video justice.
Congrats on 1million Matthias
You can motorize this drawer with one of tools stored inside. And add voice-activated switch to it.
Awesome idea!
What no pocket holes? I know that they are your favorite. Another excellent video. Thanks.
Great Job its better than the last video
Very cool. I love watching the speed hammer where can I find one? Gotta linky? ;)
Lol
A portable cordless handheld power hammer!
He is Canada's version of the Six Million Dollar Man!
I've never seen using two clamps to make a longer one. Good idea 5:10
Very cleaver Matthias! I like your washers :^)
I like the way you troubleshoot, have a nice day.
Amazing! I enjoy this video! Keep it up!
4:54 - RIP Ryokita...
What???
as you can see, it wasn't the end of it. It takes much, MUCH more to kill that beast :D
My cheap Black and Decker resists drops like that without any problem, can´t imagine the Frankestein he is using having problems with something like that, but the bit holders don´t, even the best ones bends.
You can't kill something that is already dead, it is now immortal
He dropped a drill on the floor.
"I was too lazy to set up a router for rounding over the corners ..." Lazy is a word I would never associate with you.
