As an ExJW, I would NOT address the trinity with them to "help" them. They will dig in and never return. Many exJW still hold to this one belief, you will get no where really fast. If you really want to help, ask if they are baptized in The father, son, holy spirit (use a scripture to ask your question). Ask a female JW at your door if she is allowed to teach in her Kingdom Hall? (They are not) When she says that say then why are you qualified to teach me? Ask about Birthdays and then refer to Job's children, use the scripture where Paul says one will esteem one day above another. Ask about the no Blood teaching and then ask well then why do practicing Jews still accept a blood transfusion. There are so many more productive avenues to take then this one. This one is a mental block for them, you will hit a brick wall every time!!!!!!!!!
I just read your comments and I want to thank you for the truth you've said. Sadly even though we discussed these things it's like talking to a wall. Even if you show them in their own translation they still won't budge.

I disagree as an exJW myself. I think right of the bat, you let them know they believe in 2 God's ( 2 creator Gods) And they pray to 1 God in a 2nd gods name. And the 2nd god has to rule and fix things for the 1 God. JWs never instantly convert, you can only plant seeds.

Have you ever seen the booklet that JWs produced on the trinity? It isnt being distributed any longer because of errors and misquotes, but it did prepare jws with responses to supposed trinity proof texts. I was a jw for 25 years and most of these texts didn't phase me in the slightest. However there are some verses that really got me. Isaiah 44:24. It stresses here that Jehovah was all alone when he created the heavens and earth. John 1:3 states that ALL created things were created by Jesus, the Word. You could ask JWs why Jehovah did not credit the Word with creation in Isaiah. ...or was the Word considered a "nobody", not worthy of a mention. The jw wouldn't agree with that as the Word had glory alongside the Father before the world was. So why was he not mentioned? Press home the point that all created things were made by Jesus. Ask JWs, did Jesus create himself? They will say no. So then he can't be a created being. When you show verses to JWs just focus on one or two in each discussion. Let it percolate. Don't talk to them with a "I'm right. You're wrong" attitude (liken they often do) but make it a reciprocative thing.......a sharing of views. Be gentle because jws are extremely defensive and feel threatened by anyone with Bible knowledge. All the best!

Thank you for helping us non-JWs with scriptures that really that spoke to you while you were a witness. It is hard for me to know what to say that might even be useful. Are current JWs more receptive to you as a former member? If you don't mind sharing, what caused you to leave after 25 years? I know you said a few proof texts helped you but would you have left the WatchTower because of these scriptures?

@@stephensmith9675 can I add my 2 cents? I left because as a child my critical thinking skills were always under attack by them all,my family included. I was constantly being told "You cant ask that question" or "You can only study/read our publications about other religions." the fake knowledge and fake research was too much. It creates cognitive dissonance and your mind cracks. But I could see, even as a tiny child, that there was something horribly wrong with all the adults around me. All those who were in "the CULT". Later I understood they were all willing slaves and worshipping a publishing corporation who pose as Gods representative.

Nicely done, guys. And I'm so glad you mentioned the need to be kind and gentle with them because it's not about winning a debate. It's about exposing them to truth with love and patience, and with a goal of sharing the gospel with them. Biotuned Music, It's true that no one can take anything from the Father...He gives it. Therefore, since the Father CHOSE to give his son, Jesus Christ, 'something greater than all things' no one else can take it away but the Father. In other words, what God gives, only He can take away. Jesus is saying that no human and not Satan can take away what Jehovah has given to Jesus...power and authority over all of his Father's belongings. Jesus proved that he is whole heartedly committed to his Father's will, not his own. They share one will, or way of thinking. Doesn't mean two equal individual personalities functioning in one literal spiritual or fleshly body.

John 3:16 nwt says to have faith in the only Son of God. Who is the Son of Man/Son of God? And why is he calling himself something that only Jehova calls himself? Is the Son of Man/Son of God a lier and is knowingly blaspheming by calling himself that name? Or is what he is saying true? No one else in the nwt bible calls themselves that name only Jehova and the Son of Man. John 1:1 nwt says that in the begining was the word and the word was with God and the word was "a" god. Isaiah 43:10 Jehova says that there were no other gods before or after him. Who is the word of god? And why does the nwt say that he is "a" god when there were none that came after Jehova? Jehova says to have faith in his Son right? Is Jehova contradicting himself? He is basically saying believe in my son in everything that he says he is and his son is calling himself God by refering to himself as the "First and the Last". Is his Son a blasphemer and a lier? Jesus forgive sins of which it is only God who forgive sins, He spoke with the authority and power of God. That is why the Jews wanted to throw Him with stones saying He blaspheme making Himself God. He was God in human flesh.
@@mondelubambo1511 The Bible says that God gave Jesus the authority to forgive sins. If Jesus was God, he wouldn't need to be "given" the authority as he would have it already (John 5: 26, 27).

Trust me there's way too many verses that show Jesus is Jehovah for them to change all, and they can't change these ones because they are direct quotes about Jehovah in OT so they would have to demote both Jesus and Jehovah together if they change the quote.
They have done it before with Hebrews 1:6 for example which in the 1984 version said that it was a quote of LXX Deut 32:43 (in their own footnote) and in the LXX it was a quote about Jehovah "let all the angels of God worship him" that's applied to Jesus in NT.
Even if they change more verses, time is working against them big-time (pun intended). Too easy nowadays to show from their own website that Jerusalem fell in 586/587 BC and too obvious nowadays that 144,000 spots filled up long ago - so obvious they had to stop showing how many spots are left.

Have you ever asked JW's why they left the other religions they might have been raised to follow? Or find someone who used to be Athiest and ask them why they chose to become JW's instead of one of the many other Christian religious sects? I find it suspicious that it isn't other religions that challenge JW's about what the Bible says. It's almost always another person who calls themselves 'Christian'. JW's don't challenge what others believe, The Bible does. We simply accept the commission by Christ and the apostles, to show people what the Scriptures say about the "Kingdom" we pray for in the 'Our Father prayer'. The Bible forces us all to question human conclusions, thinking, and behavior. All Bibles are either translations or versions. There were historic manuscripts, secular records, songs, letters that were at some point compiled to create an indestructible book with a cohesive theme about human history and future, and a message to educate all mankind about the true powers that be. The NWT is no less a translation like all the others. Cross referencing multiple versions and translations confirms that the most significant difference is the restoring of the name 'Jehovah' where it was eliminated by other prejudice religious entities. Jehovah's name appeared in Bibles and on churches until only about the last couple hundred years. Why don't you ask why was it suddenly eliminated from the Christian belief system in the first place? Jehovah's name was not eliminated by other religions. It was removed by Christendom itself. WHY?
I am sorry that Christians don't ask you how you came to be a JW. I always ask JWs why they became JWs. Most don't seem willing to talk about it, even in the most general of terms. Why is that do you suppose? I always invite JWs into our home knocking on our door to discuss their beliefs . My wife piles plates full of fruit and cookies and places these before them. She even offers to cook a full meal. They drink coffee and cokes taking along bottled waters when they leave. They are always invited to come back whenever they want. Few ever do. Yet, most talk little about why they chose to become JWs.

So what would they know to say that might challenge what you've said about the Bible? I've taught Hindus from the Bible. They have questions but rarely challenges. I wouldn't expect them to have challenges as they know practically nothing about the Book.
Why do think Christendom conspired to remove the name Jehovah from the Bible? I would be interested to hear what you think.

If I meet other JW's from around the world, we love talking about what we learn from the Bible and our spiritual connection, but I don't get why, if I'm talking to someone who also says they are Christian, why don't they have a healthy meaningful spiritual conversation Even family members who belong to other "Christian" religions. As a Christian, I enjoy conversation about The Bible's message how God's Kingdom is going to affect life on earth in the future. Human's like to speculate about life. Better to speculate about and prepare for God's plan for our future than what men have in store for the future. At least that's where I'm coming from. My point is, if all Christians are the same because we believe that Jesus Christ died to end sin and death for all people; Then why aren't we all on the same page eager to talk about what the Bible is telling us? Instead, there's 4 churches in a two block radius not united. JW's will have one KH to serve multiple congregations because we are all one congregation under Christ Jesus, and not separate divided churches. That was a significant factor when I chose to become one of JW's.

Also, look up William Tyndale...a priest murdered by The Church for translating the Bible into English. Because he believed all people should have access to God's Truth. Another question maybe to ask is, Why have so many different Christian religions come out of that church system? C. T. Russel was also a pastor before starting the group of Bible Students. And just like Tyndale he challenged the doctrines of the conventional Christian Church system by comparing them to what the Bible says... everyone was using the King James in those days. The preface of the King James does say why they don't use God's personal name.

Do you believe as JWs used to, and some undoubtedly still do, viz., that Jesus is to be worship just like Jehovah; or, do you follow the modern day teachings of the Watchtower that says Jesus can be held only in obeisance? Take a look at what your Watchtower said in the past versus what it forces JWs to believe today: Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses must not worship Jesus. This has only been the case since 1954. Originally, Witnesses worshipped both Jehovah and Jesus. The Watchtower Charter stated Jesus was to be worshipped up until it was finally amended its charter in 1999. For 45 years, Witnesses were counselled against worshipping Jesus. Yet, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society charter stated that worshipping Jesus was the express Purpose that the Watchtower Society exists. To deal with this discrepancy, the Watchtower misquoted its own Charter.
The Charter stated:
"for public Christian worship of Almighty God and Christ Jesus; to arrange for”
The Yearbook of 1969 p.50 leaves the words "and Christ Jesus" out, replacing them with dots.
"for public Christian worship of Almighty God … ; to arrange for”
The Watchtower 1971 p.760 replaces the word “and” with “through”, to significantly hide and change the true meaning of the sentence.
"for public Christian worship of Almighty God [through] Christ Jesus; to arrange for" Watchtower 1971 Dec 15 p.760
The 1993 Proclaimers book, which is a history of the Watchtower Society, fails to even mention what is in this important document.
Do you believe what the Watchtower stated as its purpose or do you believe what they are teaching today?
Truthfully, if Christian faiths disfellowshipped and shunned members like the Watchtower's Kingdom Halls do you might see the sort of forced "unanimity" like you see among witnesses. Many witnesses "believe" what the Watchtower says they must out of fear of repercussions should they refuse.
By the way, as a Christian I have loving conversations about the Bible everyday with other Christians. Our conversations are really free without the coercion of a dictatorial body like the Watchtower that punishes me for disagreeing with it. Tiny House Girl take a look at jwfacts.org. @@stephensmith9675 Keeping in mind that when the Bible Students first began challenging Church doctrines by comparing them with the Scriptures, they were going thru the process of understanding and changing. Like the field of science made claims a 100 yrs ago, that they now admit were incorrect because over time they got more information to help them adjust their perspective and understanding. Scientists are more often these days saying they were wrong about many of their conclusions. Do you stop believing that nature is what it is just because some person didn't understand some earlier facts? The same is true with spiritual understanding. God has been merciful to allow humans enough time to go through the process to learn and understand who he is and what he is doing. If you don't realize that Jehovah's Witnesses are a constantly moving collectively growing in their understanding of the Bible and adjusting accordingly; not dictated what the Bible says, then you haven't scratched the surface of what the Bible says. Because the Bible doesn't promote 'religion'. It promotes one single pure worship. All humans must serve God's Kingdom as one mind. (1 Cor1:10) "Now I urge you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you should all speak in agreement and that there should be no divisions among you,+ but that you may be completely united in the same mind and in the same line of thought". Jesus never promoted religious philosophy as being acceptable worship to his Father. (Is 55:8-11) So our understanding is going to change as we understand more from the Bible and not religious philosophy. Not having a clear understanding of God and his plans are not a matter of independent philosophies, or traditional thinking. As humans understand more, we are inclined to alter our language and behavior.

No translation is without mistake. but corrupt is another word. if you say jesus created all things, imagine how corrupt you must be to put word OTHER 4 times without ANY manuscript backing, to change meaning that he created all other things and not all things... Colossians 1: 16,17.

God is big enough that he can truly be found in any translation (even the NWT as is evident with the verses talked about here) but, it’s important to find the most word for word translation that you can easily read and understand. Watch Mike Winger’s video on the different translations. Very helpful information. Personally, I enjoy the English Standard Version. The NIV is helpful for beginners as well. I’m an ex lifelong JW and its been such a journey to find truth but with research and prayer, you’ll get there.

As a Jew while on the earth, Jesus didn't call himself God, because "I am JHVH" uttered from the mouth of mortal man is a blasphemy, though he allowed Thomas to confess "My God and my Lord!"
However, "before Abraham came into existence, I am" is evidently Jesus's theophany declaration, because ANI HU' אני הוא Εγώ Ειμί or 'I am the Same One' as rendered in NWT is only used by JHVH in Isaiah.

I would love to talk to these guys, concerning those scriptures in Hebrews 1:8-13 in Hebrews 1:8 "God is your throne".......We have seen this before 1 Chronicles 29:23 "and Solomon sat on Jehovahs throne" ........Solomon wasn't God........In Hebrews 1:5 "I will become his father and he will become my son" taken from 2 Samuel 7:14 concerning Solomon........was Jesus Solomon? since this scripture is used here and quoted?
I was always under the impression that jehovah’s witnesses were monotheists = one God. But if the new world translation John 1: 1 says and the word was a god, does that mean jehova’s witnesses are polytheists? = many gods.

Jesus himself referred to his Father as "the only true God." (John 17:3) Jehovah himself said: "Besides me there is no God." (Isa. 44:6) The apostle Paul wrote that , to true Christians, "there is.....one God the Father." (1 Cor. 8:5, 6) So Jehovah is unique; no one else shares his position. All these are false gods.

In Scene 7 titled "Some Knickknacks," Michael goes to the bank to withdraw some money from his $92 million earnings and the bank manager tells him he forfeited his shares for the 20 items in the envelope that she gave him four weeks earlier. In scene 9 titled "3:03 p.m.," Michael ends back up at the bank, where bank manager Jane confirms to him that _he_ changed the 20 items four weeks earlier. In Scene 10, Michael is looking at the "20 Items" he doesn't remember sending himself and words on a slip of paper: "If you only look where you can't go, you''ll miss the riches below," which he turns over to find lottery ticket numbers in the amount of his earnings that he has yet to understand. In colossians 1:15 the word "other"is not in the original greek.Can you please explain why Jehovah witnesses added to scripture. In Proverbs 8, the reference that was with God in the beginning was WISDOM, not Christ.
Also, "firstborn" according to the Watchtower Kingdom Interlinear comes from the Greek word "prototokus" which means preeminent. So depending on the context, firstborn could literally mean the first one born or sometimes it can mean preeminent one.
In Psalm 89:20-27, God calls David "my firstborn" but David was the 7th born in his family.

Neither are the words "Governing Body" nor does the bible list the table of contents, the books that belong in scripture. For the New World Translation's table of contents, Watchtower relies on Catholic Trinitarians to have decided it for them.

Couple key things here “to whom has the right arm of jehova been revealed” is the part about Jesus in that passage not “he saw his glory” because in the passage in Isaiah he sees the one on the throne and based on revelation we can confirm this is the father not the son who is “at his right hand”(hence the right arm being Jesus) can’t change the meaning of Old Testament passages to fit 4th century and beyond doctrines
God YHWH will never share His glory or throne with others. None of the created beings can take the position of God's right hand, except God the Son.

However, I used it, as opposed to the many other versions to show that scripture that should prompt us to ask...Wait! There's another "god" or "God" or "gods"? mentioned in the Bible? Because the Masoretes , by means of the masoretic manuscript, altered dates , the systematic cutting off of hundreds of years of Adams children, this altering by 600 years, thus affecting the timeline .

I find that when I am talking with a certain political person that it is almost impossible to dialog with them. They have very little , LOGIC, REASON, or TRUTH! So I’m watching this for the second time and I have some thoughts. I’m an EX-JW. I can’t stand them. I was born in, never had a choice until I grew up and gtfo. I’m telling you, getting through to them about anything is a lost cause. The cognitive blockage that takes place is shocking. I’ve tried these verses with various family and friends that will still talk to me. They answer with the following. “Jesus didn’t exist in the Old Testament because he was Micheal the Ark Angle so of course Psalms and Isaiah were only talking about YHWH. They also say Gods first creation, his “son” was his first creation and then through Jesus everything else was created. So of course being there at the beginning to make all things, of course it would be Jesus. They will then jump to the verse that the father is greater and a few others, like the one where Jesus doesn’t know the day or the hour of the end coming, so how could they be the same person? They also point out that the “Trinity” wasn’t incorporated into the Christian church for over 300 years and never taught by early Christians. They show how verses were changed and added centuries later to support it and ask why would they have to do that if it was obvious? I have stopped trying to argue this and instead focus on things like Deut 18:20 and ask why their “prophecies” never come true? lol I also read the verses regarding how to beat a slave, how to wait a month after taking a captured woman to r*pe her so that you know it’s your kid and ask why their god wouldn’t just say “r*pe bad, don’t buy and sell humans. Hi Dawn, I would like to hear your explanation on why John attributes who Isaiah saw in heaven, to his seeing Jesus. This was mentioned in part 1 of the video.
Also, your New World Translation table of contents lists 27 New Testament (greek scriptures) writings and 39 Old Testament writings. My question(s) here is :
- What authority decided for Watchtower what books belong in their bible?
- When did they do so?
- Where did they do so?
- What criteria did they use in deciding?
- What else did these same people profess and believe?

I have not seen any difference in the table of contents for any bible that I have ever come across but I would be willing to review any that I can find that you think may be different. Please let me know. In response to your first question, I must admit that the video was long ago (don't know if it was part one or not) so you would have to remind me where in John or Isaiah you are referencing and your specific question on it. Why did the authorities fear the Pharisees? Because they believed in HIM = Jesus. The whole point of John's passage is Jesus IS Jehovah.
And note, this is the very same St John, who begins his gospel by saying "the Word was with God and the Word was God."

That table of contents is not found in scripture. Every single bible lists 27 New Testament writings, a list decided by late 4th c Catholic Bishops, all Trinitarians. Those very same Bishops declared the Old Testament to have 46 writings not 39. Some 1,100 years later Catholic men with no authority would say that 7 of them were not scripture. That's how your bible has 39. Interestingly, the Original King James Version of 1611 had all 46, plus a listing of Catholic feast days. Eventually, a printing press would revised the Original KJV and reduce the Old Testament to 39.

John 1:1 In the beginning (of creation) was the word (JESUS - John 1:14) and the word (JESUS) was with GOD (so HE could be taught the doctrine by the FATHER - John 7:16) and the word was GOD (Isaiah 9:6).
You asked why did the authorities fear the Pharisees? See John 3:2. Those of the authorities that believed in JESUS (as a man from GOD) feared being put out of the synagogue (by the other authorities).
Re Isaiah 6:1 and John 12:41 and John's passage: if JESUS is JEHOVAH, please explain why would JEHOVAH be greater than JEHOVAH - John 14:28?

Christian talking with JWs end with JWs retreating. That’s what happened in my recent exchange with the CaledonianBoy (see below). Cal responded to a comment I posted. He said, “I like your attitude to those who do not share your beliefs, such as the JWs, as I am one.”
Is Cal a disillusioned JW? We don’t know yet. My response tries to engage him. What Cal says next is typical JW speak. He makes an unsubstantiated claim. “Each of the three examples used gives no consideration to what the bible teaches as a whole, nor do they consider the context surrounding each passage, Jesus is Jehovah must be assumed without consideration.”
Cal’s referring to the video. This is a common JW tactic. They state their conclusions as fact, then skip off to unrelated scriptures that lend no support to their argument. Clearly, Cal is demonstrating his bias but without stating it directly. Here’s what he’s tacitly saying, ‘Jesus is not God. The Trinity is not real. The Bible supports me.’
JWs will never tell you what they really think or what their agenda truly is. Cal is trying out new ways to denounce Christ and proselytize for the WatchTower.
Notice, I didn’t address Cal’s scripture references. That would have been chasing bunnies down rabbit holes. Instead, I “take up the whole armor of God, so that you [I] may be able to stand…” (Ephesians 6:11). I challenged Cal’s presumption presenting seven examples taken from throughout the New World Translation’s Old and New Testament that demonstrate the divinity of Christ. He implied that the Bible as a whole doesn’t teach Christ’s divinity. I showed Cal that it does.
Remember, I had previously stated my belief that Jesus is God and defined what the Trinity means. So, I remained upfront with my beliefs. Cal doesn’t. Notice something else really important. I drew all seven examples from the New World Translation (NWT).
A word about the NWT. The Governing Body of the WatchTower published its own “Bible” to equip JWs arguing with Christians. They called their rewrite the New World Translation. It changes scriptures to erase references to Jesus as God and the Trinity. It’s authors had no expertise in Biblical languages (Hebrews, Aramaic, Koine Greek), only one had even a rudimentary knowledge of Greek. So it could not be a real translation. It is a rewrite of Biblical text. Clearly, they merely changed the Bible where it conflicted with WatchTower theology.
Although the NWT’s writers altered many proof texts of Christ’s divinity, I used their text. Why? They missed many proofs. I also made reference to resources available to JWs at their official website, jw.org. I did this so that any JWs who might be following the comments know an approved place to go to study WatchTower doctrine. A Jehovah’s Witness is taught to trust anything found there. If you show a JW text from elsewhere than WatchTower’s approved material they will consider it corrupted and immediately dismiss it.
Stephen Smith your contentions don't wash. Cite any example and look up the marginal notes and see immediately why the text was rendered. Numerous other bibles agree.

Gents, I know it isn't the point of your video, but as an FYI, along with Isa 6:1-10 and Jn 12:36-41, you can include Acts 28:23-27 to show the Spirit spoke the words in Isaiah...the Triune God in black and white :) I have shared this with JWs before and it is in my opinion the most powerful set of scriptures they need to be shown.

John 1;1 has nothing to do with JESUS calling the bible a god. verse 2 and 3 males it clear that the 'WORD" referred to in John1:1 is talking about JESUS.
Revelation 19:13 Makes it clear again that JESUS has a name and that NAME IS THE 'WORD" OF GOD.

The back is good, it works for our Jewish brothers & sisters, because our OTs are similar because the praise & respect is for The LORD. The term "Lord'" is in the Torah over 6000 times, NOT jehovah. Our translations derived from the leningrad codex have some built-in errors (the codex, as well), which allow atheists and sects to evolve and confuse believers.
