    What are things you needed for OCS, that were not on the list that you spoke of?
    Also, what are the things that you did not use that you spoke of?

    I leave for Ft. Jackson Basic and OCS in one week! Grateful for the time you took to help us out. Do you remember how many Infantry slots were allotted for your class?

    • @MrCarter85
      @MrCarter85  5 лет назад +1

      I believe there were a total of 15-17 slots, and were mostly branch details!

    How much time off did you have in between basic and ocs? The break you where with your family?

      We graduated basic on a thursday and had two travel days to pcs to OCS. Once you check in though, you will have time to spend with your family while also getting everything you need for OCS. The official start date was that monday.

      Roger Carter When you PCS’d from basic to OCS did you have to fly or could you drive down?

    What were the branch allocations for your class? Specifically for non combat jobs: AG, QM, FINANCE, TRANS, MEDICAL, etc

    • @MrCarter85
      @MrCarter85  5 лет назад +1

      Christine Sayago So some of these numbers may be alittle off, and also these numbers are mixed with both pure and branch details. AG- 11, QM 8, FI- 6, Trans- 10. Medical is not an option for OCS.

    Which branch was very competitive during your time at OCS. Was AG one of them? Also on the history test, did you get to any study materials to read while you were a civilian before going to basic and to OCS?

    • @MrCarter85
      @MrCarter85  4 года назад +2

      Military intel, cyber, aviation, EOD, and signal were by far the most competitive. AG wasnt so much. You won’t know what to study on the history test until you get to ocs.

      @@MrCarter85 Thanks a lot for the information. I'm have decided to go enlisted first and later apply to OCS. I got a 42A and I ship for basic training on the 28th of January. Even though I'm 31 and a college graduate but i want to see the enlisted side to see if the military will be a long term for me before I transition to officer route.

I Did not want to wait longer for the OCS process (recruiter said it could take 3 to 6 months) and just wanted to enlist cause its a lot faster.

    How was the female situation at ocs in your experience? Were they struggling at all? Did they have to compete on the pt test with the males as well? How does that work?

    • @MrCarter85
      @MrCarter85  4 года назад +1

      andraisbored i thought overall the females in my company did well. We all leaned on eachother as a whole to get through it. For the Pt test, the females have there own standards for the APFT that is different than the males. As of now, the standards for females are relatively lower than the males in all of the categories. With changes coming soon though, the ACFT will be the new pt test for record throughout the entire army which will be gender neutral in terms of the standards. This will take into effect in Oct 2020.
